Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

Hand #64 - Robert Mizrachi has the button in seat 8, Gus Hansen raises from early position to 165,000, Nick Binger moves all in from the cutoff to 655,000, and Hansen calls with A3. Binger shows AQ, and he's a favorite to double up here.

But the board comes 976610, and Gus Hansen rivers a diamond flush to win the pot, building his stack to about 4.65 million.

Nick Binger is eliminated in 15th place, earning $131,910.

Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

Annoying for Durrrr losing an all in with KK to AJ, lame. Amir Vahedi got the tele bubble, cant be feeling good being chip leader wih 17 left and not making the final 6.

Thought Hansen was gona blow up too for a bit but in classic donkament race style the bigslick ruled over the JJ in a biggun.

The final six players will take tomorrow off and return on Saturday for the TV final table taping. Here are the chip counts for the final six players.

Seat 1 – John Roveto – 2,720,000
Seat 2 – Gus Hansen – 8,570,000
Seat 3 – David Chiu – 6,050,000
Seat 4 – Tommy Le – 1,950,000
Seat 5 – Cory Carroll – 6,670,000
Seat 6 – Jeff King – 1,305,000

Gota back ol' Gustav to win there with basically 1/3 of the chips. Wonder if any bookie will be brave enough to offer odds on this, theyve got a good 36 hours to work their prices out

Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

You think Gus 'just enjoys his poker'? Big maths and strategy aside? I'm new to it all (shit i could be the 'big stack' in the beginners forum) but from seeing some plays and some comments from those that know the game im under the impression that it could be the way. Maybe i should read up the thread a bit.

man A3 suited. I would have biunned that from there. full tables? 8 man? I liked that call with the AA tho. Gets me every time. aye nice one. thjats great to see the gus hansen raises too. Man he's got balls (and a big stack no doubt)

Hand #62 - Jeff King has the button in seat 10, Gus Hansen min-raises under the gun to 240,000, and Amir Vahedi calls from the big blind. The flop comes AQ4, Vahedi checks, Hansen bets 240,000, and Vahedi calls. The turn card is the 3, Vahedi moves all in for 480,000, and Hansen calls with A7 for a pair of aces. Vahedi shows Q8 for a pair of queens, and he'll need to improve to stay alive.

The river card is the 7, and Gus Hansen wins the pot with two pair, aces and sevens.

Amir Vahedi is eliminated in seventh place, earning $237,435.
Hows about that then? IO ait even gonna play. Ive gave up poker. Ive gave it up till i get my winning mentality back

Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

Bluesquare have stepped up to the plate, good on em.

Seat 2 – Gus Hansen – 8,570,000 13/8
Seat 5 – Cory Carroll – 6,670,000 5/2
Seat 3 – David Chiu – 6,050,000 11/4
Seat 1 – John Roveto – 2,720,000 15/2
Seat 4 – Tommy Le – 1,950,000 12/1
Seat 6 – Jeff King – 1,305,000 18/1

Shame Gus aint 2/1 or better there cos that would have been an iron clad good value bet. Obviously all of them know what theyre doing and its a donkament so theres a ton of luck involved at this point but still I like looking at this, so lets look at a bunch of factors to see who looks good for it compared to their odds.

Chip Share Percentages/fractions

Gus - 31% : 9/4
Cory Carroll - 24% : 16/5
David Chiu - 22% : 7/2
John Roveto - 10% : 9/1
Tommy Le - 7% : 13/1
Jeff King - 5% : 19/1

(27.265m chips in play)

Well the bookies giving absolutely nothing away on that basis are they

so gona have to look elsewhere at what each of the players poker Trackrecords/Form boast.

Gus - 6 WPT FT, 3 wins. Biggest Cash of career was in 2007, over 1m winning Aussie Million ME. No limit specialist.

Cory Carroll - 1 WPT FT (2007), 2nd place. Won WSOP 5K NL Circuit event for 500k in 2007. No limit specialist. Records date back to 2005 only.

David Chiu - 1 WPT FT (2003), 3rd place. 4 World Series Bracelets (2xLimit, Omaha hi/lo, 7 card stud). No track record in pwning/winning No Limit. All round poker specialist. Old skool performer, records go way back into the 90s.

John Roveto - Various small cashes but no real record, no wins. No limit specialist.

Tommy Le - Claim to fame is finishing 79th in 2007 WSOP ME for 100k cash. No limit specialist.

Jeff King - Won WSOP NL Circuit event for 350k cash in 2006. Various other small/medium cashes. All round poker specialist. Seems experienced, records date back to 2001.

Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

Ok so some good info there. For what youd be interested wagering on youd rule out Roveto and Le straight away, low on experience of FT and no wins. No reason at all to back them.

King as the shortstack looks a live one though if he could double up quickly. Has a win to his name and his price is nice and big and roughly fair in comparison to his chip %.

Chiu looks worth steering clear of as he has no wins in no limit. 1 tourny win since 2000 isnt massively inspiring either. Very experienced in other games though but did most of his winning in the 90s.

Carroll looks like a fairly new player but his results last year excellent, winning a big tourny and the 2nd place there in a WPT so has the necessary experience.

Gus is obviously the Daddy, track record shows great ratio of converting FTs into 1st place finishes. Pretty key factor that.

Gus 13/8, Carroll 5/2 and King 18/1 are the options then. Ill have a think about that.

Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

Had a teeny bet on King @ 18/1 and stuck some on Gus @ 13/8. Gus' price really aint all that tbh but im gona be following it and I wana profit from the scandic warrior. Be totally shockzored if he didnt make the final 3 so your gona get a run for your mola. Gus becomes the highest earner on the WPT Circuit if he wins gazumping Negreanu.

Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

Danke.

Hansen loses about 1m to Carroll then raises the next 5 hands in a row preflop, stealing blinds/antes 4 of the times but doubling up Jeff King in the other Standard Gus action

Hand #12 - Cory Carroll has the button in seat 5, Hansen raises under the gun to 415,000, Carroll calls from the button, and King thinks for about a minute before moving all in from the small blind for 1,855,000. Hansen calls, and Carroll folds.

Hansen shows 109, and King shows AQ. King needs to win this pot to stay alive.

The flop comes 864, and Hansen picks up a gutshot straight draw. The turn is the K, and King picks up a flush draw. Hansen needs a non-club ten, nine, or seven to bust King here.

The river is the -- 10!

Gus Hansen rivers a pair of tens to win the pot. Jeff King is eliminated in sixth place, earning $263,815.
Ooh the 18/1 was a river away from looking very big, over 4m in the pot there. At least he lost it to Hansen though. Classic Gus so far pricing himself in with the original raise Hes played 8/12 pots thats well maniac.
