This has been on for a couple of days (Day 1B finished last night). No spoilers yet for those who are live update whores and want to go back and read the action on cardplayer or whatever. I just saw this gem however

The most talked about hand of the day involved an all-in confrontation between Jordan Morgan and Joe Hachem. Morgan raised to 700 and was called by three players including Hachem on the button. The flop came A-7-4 and everyone checked. The turn brought a 6, and Morgan bet out 2,000. It was folded to Hachem who raised to 7,000 and Morgan quickly reraised to 12,000. Hachem put in yet another reraise to 22,000 and Morgan moved all in for an additional 27,000. Hachem’s stack was sitting at roughly 27,000 as well, and he agonized over his decision for quite some time before asking, “You got 8-5 kid?” Eventually, he folded 5-3 face up, much to the surprise of the table and the crowd that had formed behind him. Morgan tabled pocket aces and many of the professionals who witnessed it were claiming that Hachem may have made one of the worst folds they had seen in quite some time.

I cannot believe he did this its so sick! Not only is it unlikely he raised with 85 it is even MORE Likely he has a set of aces there as both the preflop raise and flop check suggest that. WTF was Hachem thinking???? Crazy

That's a pretty shocking fold. And the fact that he showed too just makes it better 85 would only be played like that by a high, drunk, super aggressive scando.

Adam Levy Talks Back to Phil Hellmuth
On a flop of J63 Phil Hellmuth checks in the big blind and Adam Levy bets 3,100 from under the gun. Hellmuth calls.
The turn is the A and both players check. The river is the K and Hellmuth fires in a bet of 6,000. Levy quickly calls and Hellmuth turns over AJ for two pair. Levy shows 75 for a flopped flush and Hellmuth shakes his head in disgust.
After the hand, Hellmuth said, "I didn't see him for the 75, but I should have known after he played the K-5 earlier."
Levy responded with, "But they were suited and so pretty." To which Hellmuth gave him a stare

That was interesting to read about the Hachem hand Jezza. Bloody hell. From what i've seen of Hachem on Pokertube ive always thought he was a bit of a 'donk' if thats the way to explain it. My hatered of him goes as far as to me shaving off the wee beardy bit under my bottom lip. I see his and i think 'what a cnut!'

I presume this is a big event? shit i know so little. Is this the final day Jez?

I like Kenny Tran. I dont like Mizrachi. Carlos Mortensen is a donk isn't he? I cant belive that Benyamine used to be a Proffesional Tennis Player. He must have really let himself go a bit. I would hate to play him. He has an air of 'doing the right thing' to him to me. Never seen in in a tournie mind just the telly shows. Is my main man Sammy Farha in it Jez?

Kenny tran is pretty good yeah, I sure wouldnt like to be at his table anyway. However he famously slagged off online pros or something recently so he has it coming to him

Antonius used to be a pro tennis player as well, I think him and benyamine have a big tennis bet that lasts over a ton of games. I would back antonius, hes kept himself in shape whilst benyamine is now a buffet munching degenerate gambler

I thjink ive just caught the end of it for the day. nah 45 minutes

There is just one more table left inside the poker room. With 210 players remaining, the entire field is guaranteed to begin play inside the Fontana Lounge tomorrow afternoon and they will start play, nine handed.

There is still 45 minutes left in the tournament clock so we'll see if the field can get under the 200 player mark before play ends for the day.

Bah wee Freddy Deeb is out. I like wee Freddy.

Anna Wroblewski Misreads Lamar Wilkinson

After a flop of KJ8, John Esposito checks from the small blind, Anna Wroblewski bets 3,500 from the big blind, and Lamar Wilkinson raises to 11,000 (leaving himself about 40K behind). Esposito folds, and Wroblewski tanks for about two minutes (265,000 behind) before she calls.

The turn card is the 5, and Wroblewski thinks for a bit before she checks. Wroblewski bets 15,000, and Wroblewski tanks for a while before she puts out a big stack to cover Wilkinson. He immediately calls for 40,400 with KJ for top two pair. Wroblewski shows J8 for a lower two pair, and she needs an eight on the river to bust Wilkinson here.

The last card is the A, and Lamar Wilkinson wins the pot with two pair, kings and jacks, building his stack to about 110,000. Anna Wroblewski drops down to about 225,000.

Wroblewski said, "I don't know why I was so stupid. I thought you had a flush draw or king-queen." Wilkinson laughed and said he had been stupid as well, but of course, he now has more than 100,000 in chips to comfort him.

Mark Seif Has a "Hand of the Day"

This hand happened during the last level, with the blinds at 500-1,000 (100 ante).

After several players limp into a pot, Mark Seif raises from late position to 5,500, and the player on his left reraises to 27,500. Everyone else folds, Seif calls, and the flop comes Q33. Seif's opponent moves all in for about 35,000, and Seif calls with KQ for two pair, queens and threes (Seif has his opponent covered by 40K or so). His opponent shows A-K, and is looking for an ace to stay alive.

The last two cards are the 6 and the Q, and Seif wins the pot with a full house, queens full of threes.

A few of the other players at the table started giving Seif some hell about the hand, particularly Gavin Smith.

Gavin said, "Nice read, Mark." Seif weakly defended the play, saying, "I knew if I hit my hand, it'd be good. You know?" Gavin laughed and replied, "I know I wouldn't have put 22 more dimes in the pot with king-queen!"

The table kept talking about the hand, and Mark Seif was taking everything with a smile. At one point, Seif said the all-in shove meant his opponent had a weak hand. Gavin laughed and said, "You know what that usually means? King-queen!"

At the end of it all, Gavin Smith said, "The good news is I think we found our hand of the day for the radio show tonight."

Big Old Benyamin must have played years ago Jez. I'll see if i can find any pictures of him before he just sat about eating.

James Woods Playing, But Not Playing

James Woods is playing $10-$20 no limit in the Bellagio poker room right now. A player who recognized him asked him if he played in the tournament. Woods said he wanted to, but the timing didn't work out.

Woods then asked, "Did you enter?" His friend laughed and said, "I'm playing right now!" Woods didn't realize that there were tournament tables in the poker room, and he was nearly surrounded by the WPT World Championship as he played his cash game.

Woods told his friend, "I hope you win!" At that moment, Thor Hansen recognized him from the same table, and waved hello. Woods turned to Thor and joked, "And I hope you finish second."

Thor laughed and said, "I'll take it!" Second place is worth more than $1.7 million.

A bit over my head that i must say. I know that the side games at these tournies are lucradis(??) and the cash pros would rather play in them than some silly old tournie for 6 days. They say that there's easy meat playing the folks coming off steaming from getting knocked out the tournies. these guys must love it. Like birds eating wee turtles on the beach. Ganats

Phil Hellmuth gets it all in on the turn on a queen high board with JJ against Nick Binger's KK. The river failes to improve either player's hand as Hellmuth is eliminated.

Mike Matusow has been in fine form this morning, and he has been in motor-mouth mode since the initial bell rang. There is a lot of noise coming from that corner of the room considering that Phil Hellmuth just took a seat right behind The Mouth. At one point, T.J. Cloutier yelled across the room from his table to Matusow, "Take a breath Matusow."

I think TJ Cloutier is the hardman of Poker. I know he has some record breaking money wins or something but also i notice he dont take no shit from anyone. He's got great curly hair too

In regards to previous comments...

I dont know wtf Hachem is doing there, hes getting nearly 3/1 as well so even if you had some extreme spidey sense making you think theres a 50% chance he has 85 youd still call. Shocking fold, as played it blatantly looks like AAA or 777. I always liked Hachem as well in terms of his play.

I wouldnt say Mortensen is a donk but yeah unorthodox and loose etc. He isnt 9th on all time tournament winnings for nothing.

Sweet Gus end of night tear up, monster chipleader

Gus Hansen raises before the flop and Jared Hamby flat calls. The flop comes 422, and Gus moves all in. Hamby calls. Hansen turns over 66 while Hamby shows 88 for the best hand. The turn brings the 6, giving Hansen a full house. The river brings the 10, no help to Jared Hamby who is eliminated, earning $39,570.

In one of the last hands of the day, Tim Phan raises under the gun to 32,000, a player calls from early position, Gus Hansen raises from middle position to 152,000, Phan calls, and the other player folds.

The flop comes A43, Phan checks, Hansen bets 202,000, and Phan moves all in for nearly a million. Phan has Hansen covered, but not by a lot. Hansen thinks a bit, saying, "I don't know how I can lay this down." He calls.

Phan shows AQ for a pair of aces, queen kicker. But Hansen shows AK for pair of aces, king kicker. Phan needs a queen to bust Hansen here.

The turn is the 8, the river is the J, and Gus Hansen wins the pot with his king kicker, doubling up to more about 2.2 million.

Gus' image working wonders for him on that hand really especially when you consider thats the 2nd and 3rd biggest chipstacks going at it when theres over 50 players left.
