What?
The idea of the Virgin Poker Festival is to offer poker players of every bankroll the chance to play in a well organised, deep stacked live main event. Its a great tournament for players to play in their first live poker event and for more experienced players the first prize of over £8000 is sufficiently tempting! These weekends are a blast, played in a friendly spirit with an emphasis on having fun!

Virgin are able to guarantee:

£105 two day, deep stack main event.
£5,000 added to prize pool.
£1000 of value added bounties.
Bad beat prize of return flight to Vegas
Three added value, low stakes side events.
Wii Bowling, bar promos and heads up challenges

How?
There will be no direct buy-ins. All players must qualify online. The value of one seat is €150.

Festival Weekly (€15 + €1.50): Every Sunday at 19.30 (BST). 1 seat for every 10 players.
Festival Satellite (€1.65 + €0.15): Everyday at 20.30 (BST). Win a seat to the Festival Weekly tourney.
Festival Super Rebuy (€7 + €0.70): Every Thursday at 20.15 (BST). 1 rebuy allowed when a players has under 500 chips + 1 add on after 60 minutes.

Probably better way for us to qualify would be to just enter the normal games, our last game for Newcastle had no added value whatsoever. Think we were expecting them to at least add 1 seat but not to be, was just a normal game with 1 seat for every €150 in the prize pool.

Anyway just my views. Bit too close to the last one for my liking, and very close to my summer holiday so I'll most likely be passing on this one. I think folk will quickly get fed up with the whole festival thing if they have too many, a couple per year would keep everyone interested more I'd say. Will see how I feel come the time but very doubtful at this stage.

Hmmm...I agree, this one is far too close to the other, but I guess if the demand is there...

Must admit that Nottingham is only 40 minutes away for me so nicely located, but I aint gonna throw loads of money at qualifying, and if I don't make it within the first 3 weeks or so, I aint continuing..

Bit close and at 5hrs + car journey time to Nottingham also makes a bit less appealing.

Rick if it were 40mins away I would prob go.(qualified or not)

yeah, we spoke about it - me and Rej are going to have a poker session quite often now as I'm back in Leeds for good ( dunno if I told but I was working in Oxford for the past few months) so yeah, why not? Our next live tournie is on next Saturday, Leeds Gala Casino, 8pm , 40 quid knockout ( 10 is a bounty) - wanna join us mate?
