The Great Escape

Almost made my best ever comeback there. Went all in and lost and was down to 57 chips with 9 people left. Was patient then going all in with semi decent hand and doubling up - getting a lot of lucky breaks aswell. Eventually i got to the point of where i was 100 behind the chip leader.

Eventually got down to final 4 with top 3 in money, but i went and blew it and went out

Anyone else had good comeback stories? But maybe with some success in the end of of it?

Re: The Great Escape

UL mate. :down

I was playing in a $3 6 seater STT yesterday, and it was down to me and one other chap. I had him down at 160 chips, with me on around 11,800(he even conceded defeat right then and there), and yet through an amazing run of cards and folds, he got himself all the way back up to 8,000. Don't quite know how I let it happen, but it sure was embarassing.

Anyway, I managed to re compose myself and get back to a sensible game and win the thing, but it certainly gave me a wake up call for if I'm in that situation again.

Re: The Great Escape

Ive been there before Beanie - not a nice feeling. Such a relief when you finally get rid of them. Might give it a go on Thursday - raise everything bar 50 chips and then turn in a scintilating performance and keep doubling up and win it

Re: The Great Escape

I like your idea for getting odds on the tournament though I've no idea how possible it is. I bagsy being the rank outsider

Re: The Great Escape

I think its very simple to do Beanie - if im correct in thinking they manually enter the names and odds. Then would put in the result once it had finished and it should calculate it all itself. Fingers crossed anyways as it would add a bit extra to it and maybe get some extra heads to participate.

Saying in hold 'em is if you have a chip and a chair you can win. There's been stories of people having literally 1 chip in a tournament and doubling it loads of times to eventiually come through and win. If you're heads up with someone you haven't won it till you have all his chips believe me!
