Re: Welcome tornis and robbie

Hi Tornis.

Theres a good mix of poker players on this forum from beginners right up to pros. Tournament players, cash game players, the whole mix.

You asked about pros tornis, I am a full time pro poker player, I have been for many years now. There are a few others on here as well.

Re: Welcome tornis and robbie

Gl with the dream toris.

I am of the firm belief that any intelligent person (which you clearly are toris if you have just finished higher education) who has the will can beat cash games online up to and including 5/10NL. Beyond that probably takes some pure innate poker and card skill but anything up to 5/10 is definately possible by someone who wants it enough.

You have to be disciplined, resolve to play your best and think about hands all the time, a complete desire to constantly improve your game is vital as is a love of playing in the first place. You also need complete emotional control of yourself. If you tilt at all regularly then you will fail. It is the undoing of millions of wannabe pros that they cannot control their emotions. Once you have the game together, the emotions under control and some good bankroll management practices (you can start on a small bankroll, I sure did - you just have to know how to make it grow) then it really is plain sailing as long as you put in the hours and constantly work on your game. Any questions you have about this just ask m8

Re: Welcome tornis and robbie

Hi torris,

I dont mean to be cheeky here, I have absolutely no doubt that you are a very good player (I can tell from reading between the lines of your first few posts) - but dont ever fall into the trap of thinking you are unbeatable, even on your "home turf" stakes. This is another major killer of online players, ego. Theres always someone better, even at low stakes - and if you dont believe this then they will prove it to you by cleaning you out one day.

Re: Welcome tornis and robbie

haha, I'm used to it. American's and UK people cant say nor type tornis, they keep say torris or tomis

Hey, dont say I'm not unbeatable, I'm trying to make my selfconfidence better so I can get out of this downswing

But someone got to be best, right? :D I think we all have bad and good-playing days. Not only being lucky or unlucky but also play a bit different every day.

What site are you playing at Jezza?

Everyone is beatable tornis, even the best of the best of the best. It's poker and still has an element of luck, good and bad.

yeh of course I don't really mean it word for word but someone has to be best.... Yes the best of the best is beatable, but in the long run, he is UNBEATABLE, because he is BEST!

By best I mean the one who makes the very best +EV-moves against different players.

omg, I don't know what I just wrote, had to use a dictionary.
