Tiger Woods not to win a Major in 2007 - A cracking bet !!

Some of you may think I’m mad thinking this, but I have my reasons…! I placed this bet myself back in April just before the Masters. At the time the odds were 4.00 for Tiger not to win a Major, in which I placed a sizeable 3 figure bet. My thinking at that time was that if Tiger was going to win a Major – the Masters would be the one, and of course, although close at times , he didn’t ultimately win and the odds understandably have fell. Although there are still 3 Majors to go, I believe this is still a great bet at 2.54 (Betfair). Why you may ask. Well the key to it is that Tiger’s wife is due to give birth in July. The date is surrounded in secrecy but bearing in mind The Open takes place during July then theres a good chance he might not even compete. Also, he is going to be dedicating a bit of time off with his new child which may well affect his practice game and his mindset to the extreme that he could well just rule out the PGA (early August). The US Open is probably his main goal, as this takes place in June 10th. This is historically his worst Major (2 wins out of the 12 Major wins). I don’t think he is firing on all cylinders anyhow and that aside I just cannot see him being at the top of his game – particularly mentally. Coupled with this is the very fact that with this kind of bet you are cheering on about 200 other players against him at each Major – and the fact that you’ll always get one or two players who play out of their skin I cannot stress how much this is a good thing (note - in my view!! )

Tiger Woods not to win a Major in 2007 @ 2.54 (Betfair)

you maybe on to something there however he just has this knack of pulling something out of the bag when others cant, so just for that reason i cant back against him same reason for not backing against federer or o'sullivan all genious when they want to be!

I like that bet trick...we're getting 1.37 ish on the field(and a big field it is in the majors) in each of them...I'll take that!

Gonna try to get matched at 2.60 tho.

Excellant post trickrick. This is potentially an even better bet when you consider that Mickleson is a totally different animal now he's back with Butch Harmon,he won for us in the first tourney back for Harmon (the players) hes golf throught that tourney was pretty awesome,1 and 2nd on the leaderboard throughout.

So not only is Woods a good bet to not win a Major, but backing Mickleson in the next three majors might just be as good a bet.

Enjoyed that one trick...down to the final putt. Good run for our money if nothing else

Gonna try and get out at 1.76 just now just to free up my position, but I'll be back on again before the next, hopefully at a better price too for some extra pennies.

I'm out for a guaranteed profit at this stage as I've so many anti-Tiger bets as it is I don't need this one too...

Re: Tiger Woods not to win a Major in 2007 - A cracking bet !!

Well THursday is the start of the last leg of a rather turbulent saga..

Well if this final leg comes off, my trip to New York in September (flights, accomodation and some spending money) is paid for...

And yet I feel this is gonna be the worst experience of them all.. Tiger seems to be coming into his own (on the back of a tournament win), and if ever he was up for winning a Major - this will be the one.. Last one of the season, relaxed, in form and last chance to win one..

I expect a traumatic 4 days...

Are you going to let it ride ??? or what about a saver on Woods winning the tournament to at least get some of your stake back.

Reading up on Woods and supposedly he was awesome last weekend

Best of Luck
