Re: Memorial Tournament (US Tour) 31/05/07
Its difficult to get away from the market leaders for this tourney.
C.Petterson last years winner is 100's.So im opting for Sergio Garcia not that I think he is going to win but he can place for us,also go for him to be top european.
Sergio Garcia 30's with paddypower
and 4.3 with victor chandler to be top european.
3ball betting
Garcia @2.00 with bet365 to beat Baddley and Herron looks licence to print money, sounds cocky but the other two dont pose to much of a threat imho.

Re: Memorial Tournament (US Tour) 31/05/07
For the Memorial tournament i'm gonna go with last years winner Carl Petterson @100/1 and my old mate Robert Allenby @100/1(bit big for me). Haven't really studied this so small stakes for both.
Verdict:
5 Points E/W Petterson @100/1
5 Points E/W Allenby @100/1

You could well be right Mr Basher, Paddys are offering Evens for one of the big 4 to win it (Woods, Mickleson, Singh, Furyk). Unusually all 4 are playing well at the moment so I must admit I'm quite tempted to take them up on their kind offer!

Re: Memorial Tournament (US Tour) 31/05/07
i'm going with furyk, johnson and o'hair. i think that furyk has to be some sort of value at 18/1, considering that he lost in a play-off last week and that he does have a good record here at the memorial-he has won it before. johnson has to be one of the hottest players on tour at the moment, and he finshed 2nd last year, so has course form and recent form. finally o'hair is too long at 66/1 as he is one of the best drivers of a ball on tour. such a solid long game, round here, the rough looks long, bunkers are dodgy raking-if he hits a lot of fairways he will be in business and he did do well at the players recently. ireckon there is quite a lot in the tank at 66s. of the other market leaders, woods / mickelson are priced up well, singh? i can't trust him at the moment-he did fly round wentworth on sunday but i'm not totally convinced. els does have a decent record here, 33s is long but he really isn't playing well. so i'm after furyk, johnson and o'hair. good luck!

Re: Memorial Tournament (US Tour) 31/05/07
I`ll have a E/W on Adam Scott @33/1 with Ladbrokes..
Quote:
Adam Scott is another player to catch the eye on a course which should suit his style.
Like Furyk, he arrives in decent nick after a win at the Shell Houston Open at the start of April and a T6 at the Players Championship on his most recent venture on to the fairways across the Pond.
He posted a career-best T4 in this event 12 months ago, three shots behind winner Carl Pettersen, and surely would have won if he had putted with anything like the quality he showed with his long game. His putting average has improved this season and that might just be the key to him getting his hands on the trophy this time around
|
Stewart Cink could be worth a E/W shot 50/1 with most bookies...
Quote:
At 50/1 pre-tournament, Stewart Cink also gets a positive mention.
The Georgia native has previously shown a liking for the course (four finishes inside the top 12) and is certainly enjoying his best run of 2007 over recent weeks with form figues of T5-T3-T24-T18.
"I'm hitting the shots that I'm looking for," Cink told reporters after tying for third at the Players Championship.
"That's the thing I like about my golf game right now is that I'm producing the shots that I'm trying to produce.
"While I'm hitting the odd, crooked one or not getting up-and-down here and there when I'd like to, I'm getting a lot closer and a lot better. Mentally I'm in a better place than I was a short time ago." Certainly upbeat and a big display would not come as shock as he seeks to gain an overdue first success since mid-2004.

Re: Memorial Tournament (US Tour) 31/05/07
Just noticed big Phil Mickleson has withdrawn. Thats put a bit of a dampner on my "One of the big 4 to win" bet.

Re: Memorial Tournament (US Tour) 31/05/07
Allenby had a good start but had a horrendous triple bogey 7 at the last to send him crashing back to -1. Petterson had a solid opening 68 and lies on -4, 3 off the lead.
