Re: USPGA (US Tour) Live On Sky

Good question muze...99% certain the 10 shot rule doesn't apply, dont think it did last year anyway, but as for how many make it Im not sure...will have a wee hunt.

Poor start from Storm...+2 after 3.

Re: USPGA (US Tour) Live On Sky

What a round from Woods today so nearly the best round ever. Shame though really cos Verplank is 2nd on -4 for Chief/Beanie and Ogilvy is tied 3rd for me at -3. Wed be in with a supreme shout if Woods had just played average. As it is its hard to see past him on that form.

Im hoping Woods fires in an average round tomorrow and leads by just 1 shot going into the final day or actually does poor somehow and just trails the lead. The supreme stat ive dragged up a couple of times in the past would come into play then. For those that dont know, in all 12 majors Woods has won he has led going into the final day. Never won a major from behind. Either way just lump on if hes just clear or lay him if hes just shy. Worked a treat for me in last years PGA when he led by 1 shot and got him at 4/7. Ive always bottled it when hes just shy though but I wont next time. As it is hell probably just be clear and unbackable but ya never know.

Other than Ogilvy my picks have gone disappointingly. Singh, Johnson, DiMarco and Clark all failed to make the cut. Rose fired in a poorish 73 so is +3 and 5 shots shy of 5th place. Stricker fired in a very good 68 to scrape into the cut at +5 and is 5 shots shy of the top 10. Both of those will have to go under par tomorrow to give those bets legs and something to cheer on the final day, which to be fair one of them easily could

Re: USPGA (US Tour) Live On Sky

Bugger! Was getting excited about Verplank being 2nd round leader and for my sneaky 25/1 bet to come in. Unfortunately Woods had other ideas and streaked clear of the field with a brilliant 63.

Disaster day for most of my picks as loads failed to make the cut. Furyk double bogeyed 17 meaning he missed the cut by 1. Sabbatini Singh Cabrera and Johnson all crashed out also.

Still at least Scott is up there and I have him @45/1 to win, he's 4/1 now, (betting without Woods) so there could be some profit this weekend yet. 3 balls fared better than Thursday with Verplank Snedeker and Furyk(1/2 stakes) all returning a few quid.

Howell III v Katayama/Westwood @ 3.30
Dang...Katayama firing a 67 when I had him as the big outsider of the group hurt me a wee bit there. Not so good. Stenson misses cut. Good. Monty makes cut by one. Bad.

What a round from tiger - Verplank currently priced at 15s ish so its still a tradable bet but I'll let it run for this round as he's playing some consistent stuff. Woods could blow them away again but c'est la vie. Unlucky on the round leader bet Chief

All the other fancies are stuck down the wrong end of the table bar Micheel and Stricker who could still sneak top 10 with a stormer tomorrow but its Verplank or bust now...go on Scotty!

One quick 2 ball:

Adam Scott v Paul McGinlay @ 1.74

For all his experience McGinlay has turned into a bit of a yoyo player of late...following a good round with a bad and vice versa...not sure why but he seems to swing a lot better when the pressure is off and clam up a bit when in contention. Wierd for a Ryder Cup Golfer like him but in some hot conditions today I'll take the Aussie to win this one today.

Looks like GSM for Woods now...Verplank has been a bit unlucky with lies and bounces and contacts and its a 4 shot lead for Tiger...time to start weighing up the winner without Tiger market for tomorrow.

Re: USPGA (US Tour) Live On Sky

Rose made a quadruple bogey today and yes hes 4 shots behind 5th place Still made 70 though so must be playing well.

Stricker carded 2 late bogeys unfortunately but still makes another nice round of 69 but again still 4 shots shy of 10th place due to that horrible +7 opening round. Really hoping one of those 2 can post a very low score tomorrow to give me some cheer. Come on dudes I only need 1 bet to come in to show nice profit!

Predictably mince +6 from McGinlay...expect a sub par round tomorrow

Woods is 1.13 with a 3 shot lead over Ames...to be fair thats probably the value at the moment as he probably only loses 1 from 15 or so from this position given the way he is playing...he'll do what he did today, go out and hit loads of Greens in regulation without pushing it too much, pick up a birdie or two here or there, and force someone in behind to go out and shoot a 64 to win.

Verplank went to bits over a short stretch...+4 over the back 9 which he's played brilliantly so far this week...pressure of having to make things happen to chase down Tiger maybe too much, but that really shouldnt have been a factor for someone like him. Unfortunately Ogilvvy went the same way after a good start...DB at the last too.

Plenty winner without tiger, top 10 and 2ball bets to look at in morning.

Re: USPGA (US Tour) Live On Sky

Some 2 balls from today:

Perez v Howell III @ 2.18

Great price for Perez I think...his 77 yesterday upset what was a great tourney for him so far but he still remains one of the steadier golfers in the field and should bounce back today. Howell III has been pretty uninspiring this week - doesn't seem able to create realistic birdie chances and I thik he'll struggle to stick with Perez here.

McGinlay v Casey @ 2.50

As from yesterday, McGinlay did the exact same yoyo trick at the Open, lurching from big scores to little scores with ease. With the pressure off, I'm not counting out an under par knock today.

Villegas
v Wetterich @ 2.30

Gonna oppose the steadier golfer here as i still think Villegas has more in him than his scores this week suggest. Wetterich will prob post a decent score today but I'm gonna take Camilo to shoot his best round of the week.

Micheel v Snedeker @ 2.40

Can't split these two in terms of ability or performance this week so don't think Micheel should be such a big underdog.

Rose v Donald

But for the occasional wobble Rose has played the better golf out of these two this week by some distance, and so I'll take him to finish strongly today.

Verplank v Scott @ 2.46

Wierd price - Verplank went to pot a little bit when the pressure was on, but aside from that he's played some of the best golf seen this week, and if he gets back to that now the pressure is off he should be fav here.
