Re: The Open Golf Championship

Aye, dunno what Hensby though he was up to david. +4 over the first two holes, yet you couldn't seem to wipe the smile off his face.

I'll give him something to cry about

Re: The Open Golf Championship

enjoying his golf? how dare he.

i was in work watching it today and told one of the boys i was on hensby. im in the middle of something and he shouts over.

"mate, look at the tv, watch hensby go". i thought he was about to tell me he had eagled to in a row to go clear

instead takes a 7. and my mate just laughs

never mind. hes same price now as he was at the start

ill just need to pick some cracking 2 ball victories over the weekend to get back on track

Re: The Open Golf Championship

ok put up some w/o woods betting. I'll see whats on the thread to add. Ive closed off the match bets effectively as i cant see the odds but i can reopen them if someone mentions a link.

Odds from Ladbrokes who are offering you a free £25 bet on the golf

Does anybody think I should lay woods off ? or is he still a good thing ? not standing to win a fortune but a decent lift all be it

Re: The Open Golf Championship

Bigkegman,

I really dont think Woods would blow it from here, but at 1.37 i think it would be worth laying your stake off. A likely scenario with tomorrows calm conditions is that somebody will come from the pack before Woods tee off making the 1.37 drift slightly, so i reckon you could even trade it afresh from here.

Re: The Open Golf Championship

Had a few nice matchbets today(Paddy Power seem to offer some nice mythical ties) so not too much damage done in the tourney.

If Singh, Campbell or Faxon(never did manage to lay him off) can charge tomorrow and somehow win i'll be dirty rich, and Clarke placing top 5 would help nicely too.

Here's tomorrow's twoballs, so jot down anything you fancy:

1 07:10
Graeme Storm
Duffy Waldorf

2 07:20
Ted Purdy
Matthew Richardson

3 07:30
Patrik Sjöland
Scott Gutschewski

4 07:40
Robert Rock
Justin Leonard

5 07:50
Paul Lawrie
Luke Donald

6 08:00
Robert Allenby
Paul McGinley

7 08:10
Miguel Angel Jiménez
Simon Khan

8 08:20
Ernie Els
Joe Ogilvie

9 08:35
Chris Riley
Thongchai Jaidee

10 08:45
Eric Ramsay
Tino Schuster

11 08:55
Steve Flesch
Mark Calcavecchia

12 09:05
John Bickerton
S K Ho

13 09:15
Rod Pampling
Peter Lonard

14 09:25
Thomas Levet
Graeme McDowell

15 09:35
Peter Hanson
Chris DiMarco

16 09:45
Hiroyuki Fujita
Tom Watson

17 10:00
Edoardo Molinari
Henrik Stenson

18 10:10
Pat Perez
David Frost

19 10:20
Kyoung Ju Choi
Steve Webster

20 10:30
Tadahiro Takayama

24 11:10

25 11:25
Greg Norman
Mark Hensby

26 11:35
Tim Herron
Nicholas Flanagan

27 11:45
Fred Couples
Bo Van Pelt

28 11:55
Stuart Appleby
Richard Green

29 12:05
Bob Tway
Lloyd Saltman

30 12:15
Geoff Ogilvy
Trevor Immelman

31 12:25
Adam Scott
Scott Verplank

32 12:35
Bart Bryant
John Daly

33 12:50
Tim Clark
Bernhard Langer

34 13:00
Sean O'Hair
Sandy Lyle

35 13:10
Kenny Perry
Darren Clarke

36 13:20
Maarten Lafeber
Søren Hansen

37 13:30
Michael Campbell

38 13:40
Brad Faxon
Sergio Garcia

39 13:50
Retief Goosen
Colin Montgomerie

40 14:00
José Maria Olazábal
Tiger Woods

Lawrie v Donald is an intruiging one. Might fancy Norman's chances against Hensby too - Norman has been really steady, while Hensby is the definition of inconsistency.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Re: The Open Golf Championship

I've been away since Friday morning so didn't have any more bets. It's been a good weekend for me.

Michael Campbell beat Thomas Bjorn (18 hole match up 69 - 72) -
1.88
Michael Campbell beat Angel Cabrera (72 hole match up - Cabrera didn't make the halfway cut) 2.00
Adam Scott beat Lee Westwood (72 hole match up - Westwood didn't make the halfway cut) 1.88
Graeme McDowell beat Trevor Immelman (72 hole matchup - by 1 shot) 1.88

Two minimum stakes bets on Michael Campbell 75.00 and Adam Scott 40.00 on betfair went south but those didn't make much of a dent in a nice overall profit.

As I mentioned earlier, I've played golf for a long time and taken a keen interest in the Pro tournaments but until this season have only had a very rare bet on a Major and never done matchups, 3 balls, Groups etc. Might be taking more interest now, though to do proper research covering the US and European Tours would be time consuming.

Aye Para, would be good if we could get a few people in the know posting on a fairly regular golfing thread, and there seems a few from the basis of this thread.

Even if its just for the bigger tournaments if your hitting 4 from 4 it looks promising.

Plus, it might save me putting up my stabs in the dark :

Re: The Open Golf Championship

Thanks Para
I had a e.w. bet on Cambell after your recommendation- if only he had holed that last one he would have come equal third instead of equal 5th with six other but i got a minimal return - Poulter missed by one shot 5th place!

cheers and keep us informed mate
