Spacecats Greyhound Bets

Helllo again folks.

I didnt want to continue with the Laying thread as I'm an arrogant weasel who will do anything fore the best price on BF, if I started to show a profit for my lays then people would follow me and over time itd make a % difference to my bank.

So I'm going to start a BACKING topic I think the BF markets could cope easily with more than just my £2 bets on the mutts, so I'm not to fussed if somebody follows my tips.

Not that it'll matter, as I'm pretty confident I'm going to pick absolute dross and lose all my own money anyway

Carrying on from what was mentioned on another topic, I'll be backing 2 dogs in each race, I'll be playing them level stakes and I'll be using BetTraderPro again to do all the leg work (while I'm out doing some actual work!). I know theres a case for dutching selections but I believe in time the prices will all even things out.

Listen to me .. 'in time' this could all be over by teatime 49's

So anyway, I wont be knowing my own prices before posting them up, I'll be picking them off my BF account history retrospectively like in the Laying thread.

I'm thinking about aiming for 6-7 races a day, maybe more if more become available and will mostly stick to the BAGS/BEGS races as I prefer the grading system.

I'll be starting off with £20, which is enough for 5 races worth of stakes at £2 a bet, BetTrader doesnt need you to have the total amount you want to gamble in your account, if later in the day I've lost all 5 races then the bets it tries to place wont go down. Also if I'm failing to pick a winner in FIVE bloody races then I'm onto a hiding to nothing anyway, I expect to need 2 winners in every 5 races, which sounds difficult but I'm not so sure, its a strike rate of 40%, so probably will be impossible .

I love a challenge though so what can I say. After midnight I'll be able to set up BTP to place my bets and will post my selections here once its done.

Tips and advice welcome.

I'm not spending £46 on this crap for tomorrow, so I'm letting it ride through.

Anybody see any pish selections? TopDog?

Overall I'm up £35.08, I'm taking that as a successful trial for day one.. I was lucky in that one of my 5/1 winners was a reserve, which if I had any control over I wouldve avoided, but these are the kind of things that'll even themselves out over time, the next 5 reserves I end up on will probably lose.

Same again tomorrow I think. I'm either going to withdraw the £35, bet it on the football or play poker with it tonight, want to start with £20 again tomorrow.

Re: Spacecats Greyhound Bets

For the sake of comparison, if I was gambling with the industry SP's then the returned total loss would be £7.

Let this be a lesson to you greyhound punters in the high street!

Re: Spacecats Greyhound Bets

It's quite sad really that I've an opinion on any dog race.

Even sadder that I've been doing it long enough to understand the form.

Sadder still, I'm willing to risk money I've had to get out of my bed to go and earn on a race.

And if its possible, even sadder still, is that I'm willing to risk a decent proportion of what I'm taking home on it at times.

And to top it all of, its bloody soul destroying how sad it all is... when I'm finished earning money that a percentage of will be spent gambling on dogs, I then waste hours of my free time trying to work out systems/staking plans thatll return more

Aye it looks good written down but in reality this thread is a reflection of a much sadder state of affairs.

Re: Spacecats Greyhound Bets

Right, looking through these bets gain, I think I'll just knock this on the head for now.

Total looks to have been an unusually good day for the selections, even considering I picked a 5/4 and 6/4 winner, I'll pick the shorties every day but I wont always pick the big ones, if there was an extra £5 on top of the total I made then you could more easily recognise the effort as being a superb day.

I dont think there will be many days like it and over the course of a few weeks the days where theres minor loses would soon eat into the £35 profit.

I'll go again tomorrow with the same £20 I had today, I'll spend the £15 I made on poker or a footy bet, I wont spend all of it and keep the £20 extra to compensate for my original £20 when it eventually gets wiped out.

If the results had come in backwards then I wouldve had one winner from the first 5 races, although it wouldve been enough today to carry me into the profitable ones, it could easily have been a 5/4 shot rather than a 5/1.

Like I say I'll go again tomorrow and anything thats returned is just a bonus.
