2 similarish hands with AA

Played both of these in quick succession. Anyone care to comment on either on whether they would call both, neither or one and not the other AND why? You can say youd have played em differently if you want and why as well but im mainly wanting the answers on just whether you make the call or not in both.

Well yeah it's 1 in 4 that you get both right, 1 in 4 that you get both wrong and 1 in 2 that you get one right and one wrong.

Re: 2 similarish hands with AA

Thankyou for that analysis McStatto.

We need some analysis etc because as you can see, only had 3 replies so far and already Beanies said fold/call and Aliens said call/fold and Cains call/call so all different!

Re: 2 similarish hands with AA

1. Fold because if the guy who has gone all in isnt beating you then theres a good chance one of the other players in the pot are, has to be a fold for me.

2. Call, if he has got the J then fairplay to him for a good move id say, more often than not just a numpty though so call.

Re: 2 similarish hands with AA

call , call for me .. 1st one may have a q but its for less than half your stack and because of checks on flop i think hes tring to pinch the pot ... 2nd hand presuming you folded the first and he saw you do this i think he is also pinching !
both hands at these levels in my opinion they havent played trips the way they are usually are played out ie checking but then making small bets to take down a bigger pot although 2nd hand if you did call the first he may have the jack and was hoping you couldnt lay down your hand. would need to have had a bit of history on 2nd player to help me with the call though

Re: 2 similarish hands with AA

I can't put down my reasoning - I just tried and I changed my mind 3 times within the same post.

I'm now going for hand 1 call...player 1 has checked twice...no danger there I dont think, player two has checked then plunged all in...he must know there is a chance he'll scare everyone else off there so an all in is unlikely if he has trips, and player 4 has checked in last position where I would have thought some bet to represent a steal and get some action on the flop would have been likely for a big hand there. Maybe not, but I'll call there.

Hand 2 I still call...just a scared nooby overbet.

Re: 2 similarish hands with AA

Ok heres the results....

----- TURN ----- [Qs Qc 9d][6s]
Tina96: checks
ezrider: bets £15.40 and is all-in
INSTACOOL: folds
Madpirate: calls £15.40
Tina96: folds

Suprise call from the MadPirate there who had 78s and our villain ezrider had QJ for trips and held up.

----- FLOP ----- [Js Qd Jh]
INSTACOOL: checks
Madpirate: bets £39.40 and is all-in
-Mi5-: folds
INSTACOOL: calls £39.40
----- TURN ----- [Js Qd Jh][5c]
----- RIVER ----- [Js Qd Jh 5c][Ks]

Madpirate had AKo here and moved in on a gutshot with overcards.

My thinking was exactly the same as Christianus for these 2 hands as it happens.

I actually had a gut instinct that the guy had a Q in the first one for trips. Everybody checked the flop (which is what people do when they flop trips so it isnt weakness). Then on a pretty blank turn liven up. Possibility of nothing much but I folded cos I thought probably a Queen.

Second one is a guaranteed call for me. The bet is just too massive, its well over twice the pot. It doesnt want a call imo. Cains said AQ or KQ for top pair and I was thinking those also but also perhaps K10 or 109 for open ender. Him having AK was just a bonus.

Just to complete the trilogy I played another big pot with AA tonight also so may as well post that up.

----- HOLE CARDS -----
dealt to INSTACOOL [Ad Ac]

Myhand: folds
dabb: folds
1234321: raises to £1
Spenner: folds
Stuart2: calls £1
ukchap: folds
Pompeylas: calls £1
INSTACOOL: raises to £7
Mxzptk: folds
TomRivera: folds
1234321: calls £6
Stuart2: folds
Pompeylas: folds

----- FLOP ----- [Qh Jh 3h]

1234321: bets £15
INSTACOOL: raises to £46.85 and is all-in
1234321: calls £31.85

----- TURN ----- [Qh Jh 3h][Qc]
----- RIVER ----- [Qh Jh 3h Qc][Td]

----- SHOW DOWN -----
INSTACOOL: shows [Ad Ac] (Two Pairs, Aces and Queens, Jack high)
1234321: shows [Qs 8s] (Three of a kind, Queens, Jack high)
1234321 collects £107.45 from Main pot

Extremely dodgy flop there. This fcuking guy had been minraising every pot preflop right. If anyone raised preflop he never folded. So I put that overbet in preflop just to isolate him vs me.

Bad flop as I have no Ah which sucks. He pots it though which basically tells me he doesnt have a set or a flush. A little concerned about 2 pair as this guy could have any 2 of that really (QJ obv) but I think theres a pretty good chance hes either got a Q or J for a pair with a A or K of hearts kicker for a flush draw. So I hate moving in there as its pretty coinflippy but gota be done. Also if the guys just being a dick I take it down now which is good.

So these 3 decisions is a great example of how you can play great and make absolutely nothing Pokers a cruel game at times, remember that

ps I saw a guy flop a straight flush and get rivered by a bigger one earlier, ouch :
