A double flop hand!

Lol has anyone else played this before?

A sort of semi popular on occasion game this in live casinos in SOME places. It actually started in edinburgh in Scotland (although I hear it has been banned from the cash games there now) it is called sometimes in the cash game I play in up here (we have a dealers choice game, whoever is on the button can choose the poker game for that hand). Anyway this hand cropped up the other night when someone called double flop 6 card omaha. In double flop there are two complete boards instead of one. The pot at the end gets split in 2, one half goes to the winner of the top board and one half to the winner of the bottom one. Of course sometimes it can get quartered. For example if a flush is the nuts on the top and a straight on the bottom. You have the nut flush on the top and the nut straight on the bottom, your opponent has the nut straight on the bottom as well. In this case you would win the entire top board pot, which is half the pot and you would split the other boards pot. So you would get 3/4 total of the pot and your opponent 1/4. Lol this is confusing I know, TRY HAND READING IN THIS GAME.

Anyway so the game is called, its 6card omaha double flop. I am in the small blind for this game. Its deep stacked. I have about 800 pounds infront of me and the blinds are 1/2 pounds.

I am dealt 4478KT suited twice. Theres a raise to 15 pounds preflop which everyone calls, 5 handed.

Flops are
J56r
J9Qtwo hearts (I dont have suited in hearts)

75 pounds in the pot, check or bet?

Jez

Re: A double flop hand!

You haven't told us how many are playing Jez. I'll assume its 6 handed.
If that is the case then I would make a pot sized bet but proceed with caution.
I guess like HiLo the rookie mistake would be to chase half the pot and the one straight looks vulnerable if the third heart comes down.
The first hand too could be in danger as any two turn/river cards could make your hand second best.
It happens a lot in 5 card Omaha that the nuts on the flop rarely are by the river so in 6 card

Bet and hope to take the pot there and then.

Re: A double flop hand!

Just noticed you said quite clearly 5 Handed
So only 40 cards will eventually be out so still bet and hope to win. The odds are slightly better though with only 4 others
