Re: What do you do in this situation>?
OK by the power of super strength vision etc I can just about make out that you have Q5 and are in the big blind. Well you had better be otherwise what the hell you doing in a pot with Q5 lecture starts etc.
The board is 9 T J K hence making a straight for you.
I can't quite see if all suits are different.
I'm assuming there's been no pre-flop raising, otherwise you'd have folded the Q5. This is one of these places where the big blind can get you involved in a pot and can end up costing you money. The obvious danger hand is AQ, you have to try and work out if anyone has that. You don't wanna be committing too much cash to this pot, you are only likely to be called by other people with a queen, ie split pot or raised by someone with the AQ.
There's a fairly decent chance of someone having 2 pair here as well, people like to call with hands like JT, KT
Did anyone bet the flop or was it all checked ?
You don't have to get involved in this hand really, you could just check it down and hope for a free look. Or check to the river and call a small bet if it comes a blank. Of course the river could mean a whole load of other hands are beating you, 2 pair could improve to a full house, a queen could come making any ace the nut straight. But you wouldn't be risking any money you didn't need to. What I would probably do though is make a smallish bet on the turn and see what happens. If I get raised I'm throwing it away, if I get called by the small blind I'd hope he checked the river and take a free look.
If I get called by the guy after me well that's a bit more tricky !
