Antepost Betting

I am having a relaxing week before I start my new job, so I have decided now to move on from the days racing and look at the big antepost races. I think the following are value:

Hennesesy Gold Cup - Knowhere @ 20/1 - This is a handicap and Knowhere has proven in his two performances at Cheltenham that he is a top quality horse. He was staying brilliantly up the hill at Cheltenham in the Paddy Power on Saturday and looks to be suited by the step up in trip to 3 miles 2 furlongs.

"Knowhere, second to Exotic Dancer in the Boylesports last year and back to form with a good win here last month, got a bit outpaced coming down the hill and made a mistake three out, but he stayed on well up the hill and was still closing steadily at the finish. He is back at the top of his game again."

He will definately make the cut, unless something happens in the next month, and he is still on a winnable mark.

King George - Kauto Star @ 11/8 is a great value bet. As long as he gets there and runs ok he will win. His return this season was good and a repeat of that will suffice.

World Hurdle - Inglis Drever @ 6/1 this race looks the weakest race in the antepost at Cheltenham. BJK is there as is Detroit City and Blazing Baileys BUT when it gets to the festival I cannot see all three of those turning up, plus I do not think they are strong enough to stay at Cheltenham against the classy Inglis Drever and Wichita Lineman.

...and doesn't rip the last fence out of the fuckin ground

11/8 is too short a price for me to be tying up my money for six weeks or so I'm afraid. Especially if you lose it all if the horse never lines up. I'd rather wait and be sure that he does get there and hope for about 4/6 or 4/7 .

If I don't get that price I'll just sit back and enjoy the spectacle of seeing the great horse run.
