Magyar's Musings
Two on the flat from my notes today.
NEWCASTLE 3.05 HILL BILLY ROCK
Was talked of as a succesor to stable star Collier hill last year. Unfortunately never seen last season
but interesting today on return. Some money around for it .
LINGFIELD 3.55 MULTI TASKER Showed some promise on debut and not given hard time when chance gone. Going left may be better and Ryan Moore on board.

Re: Wot? Not an opinion on the Grand National!
HILL BILLY ROCK was unplaced, never put in the race after travelling well at back of field. Dodgy looking ride to my eyes although no suprise considering who trains it. Looks like one to keep an eye on especially when the real money is down.
MULTI TASKER was a N/R . The race was won by Gone hunting who had finished in front of Multi Tasker on debut, but Multi Tasker looked to have more to give in the future judging on their efforts in that race. So given that Ryan Moore had been booked to ride i shall be keeping tabs on Multi Tasker.

Re: Wot? Not an opinion on the Grand National!
I hope its ok to put my selections in here . I want to keep tabs on them in an attempt to have a more disciplined approach this flat season. What ive found was my notes threw up plenty of winners but a lack of confidence in my own opinions has led me listen to others and be swayed out of bets or onto other horses.
KEMPTON 2.45 -HONKY TONK SALLY EW @ 18/1 Improved for stepping up in trip as a 2yo. Looked like would be better suited going right handed. Family suited by AW and trainer in decent form.
At the price i'm interested.

Re: Wot? Not an opinion on the Grand National!
HONKY TONK SALLY - Sweated up before race taken down early , missed the break and ran no sort of race.
Today -2.40 Brighton -WINNING ShOW- Put up a very eyecatching debut as a 2yo beating no less a horse than Blackat Blackitten and went into the notes. Ran disappointing for rest of season . Since changed stables to A.Balding which are in form and now on a lowly mark. First time up may be the time to catch it.
In same race i'll be backing SUPPORT FUND
who is consistant at Brighton and can run well fresh.
Both around 6/1.

Re: Wot? Not an opinion on the Grand National!
5.20 Nottingham - Two of interest for me STALKING TIGER /MAGDALENE.
STALKING TIGER - Went into notes after last run last year as a handicap winner in waiting. First run of season today and stable not hit the form as yet but should be able to at least place in this.
MAGDALENE- Been with this one since debut last season. Today back at winning trip,track/going to suit. I think this
horse is better coming from off a strong pace, which could be a problem today. With a few having first run it may be that one or two ensure a strong pace but its no guarentee given run style of most in the field. That said with benefit of a run already this season i can expect at least a placing. A bet in running on the win if the pace is fast enough.
Not a race to go mad in for me but as i expect both to win races again this season i'll be on to small stakes.

Re: Wot? Not an opinion on the Grand National!
Warwick 4.00 - CALDRA on ratings and 2yo form should be upto this. Stable was in poor form last season and when returning from injury ran a good race first time up. Stable in better form now.
4.20 Notts - ELYSEE PALACE Well backed on reapperance but struck into and ran no sort of race. Maybe a bit of a softie but in a race in which trainer has a good record, and in hope of last run being a one off, a small win bet for me.

Re: Wot? Not an opinion on the Grand National!
4.00 Warwick - Caldra N/R
4.20 Notts - Elysee Palace pulled and wouldn't settle, looked a real pig of a ride and doesn't seem to be improving on last years efforts. Off my list now and will bolt up next time!
5.20 Notts - Stalking Tiger pulled too hard and will need to settle better, but i'm confident R.Charlton will find the answers.
Magdelane - never got a strong gallop and ended up running at front of field only to be out speeded to line. No world beater but i still want to follow .

Re: Wot? Not an opinion on the Grand National!
16.04.08
NEWMARKET
3.10- STIMULATION - Could be group class in 2008
4.20- SKADRAK - The word was that this was Chapple hymms best 2yo last year and was ahead of Winker Watson, but kept pulling up lame on the gallops. New stable now and interesting.
BEVERLEY
5.05 - KARGAN - Travelled really well last time out only to be beat by superior class animal. Not a great draw today but a small interest for me.

Do you want to have the thread renamed, M M?
Something like "Mighty Magiar's daily horses" ?
Good luck with today's fancies .GIF)

Re: Wot? Not an opinion on the Grand National!
Todays results.
Both Skadrak and Kargan were N/R's
Stimulation won @ 15/8 needed every bit of todays trip and will certainly be suited by a step up to further. Group class maybe not just yet!

Re: Magyar's Musings
NEWMARKET 17/04/09
5.30 - Prime Exhibit -is one ive got down to follow this season as a handicapper but stable not clicked yet and their horses seem to need their first runs.
RAGAMUFFIN MAN is well liked by trainer and thought capable of winning a decent handicap this season. Showed good battling qualities to win a maiden last term and @ 25/1 is an E.W price for me today.

Re: Magyar's Musings
3.45 NEWMARKET - ALEXANDER CASTLE Won on debut travelling well and quickening, leggy and a frame to grow into. Noticed a bit of money for it today and i will be backing to place in the hope some of the good impression i got can be justified.
