I accept that it's factual based on the number of total French runners and based on their performance but anyone who lets it put them off backing a French horse is either a muppet or a moron in my humble opinion. I got into some bother the last time I made a comment like that but I really do feel that strongly.

Where is the logic behind making a statement that they aren't good enough to win the race, and then going on to say that they've finished 2nd four times out of the last ten. It's bordering on moronic. In fact it's not even bordering, it IS moronic.

They've been good enough to beat about 38 opponents out of 39 but it's not possible for them to beat 39 out of 39.

Sometimes I despair.

ODM - no-one is saying they can't win, but I think the fact that most horses of French descendency are bred more for speed than stamina, which is why perhaps they have been finishing 2nd rather than winning.

Not 100% convinced myself, but anyone who dismisses the stats as complete bollocks is either a muppet or a moron.

Right i've gone for Garvivonnian mainly because of the weather and its a course winner under similar conditions as today.
Hedgehunter still looks the horse to beat but as has been mentioned winning to Nationals back to back is virtually unheard of.

I'm still going with Ross Comm too and i'll have a e/w dabble on Ebony Light.
