Re: Euro Qualifiers: 13th October

I wish You best of luck with Scotland NT.
Ukraine is without chances to qualify so I doubt that they will come with the strongest squad at the moment. The question is will some of Scottish followers (Italy&France) offer extra bonus to Ukrainians to fight and steal a point from Scotland. It's not unusual.
Still I think that great fighting spirit and determination is something that must prevail in this kind of match, where guests have nothing to fight for.

Re. this round...,my choice is to support the teams which are in really need for points.
Low priced , unfortunately, but every mistake could mean that game is over for some of them since there's only three rounds to go.

Serbia @ 1.35
is visiting Armenia.
Tough trip, since they beat Poland and hold Portugal at 1-1.
Serbia is without Vidic, Krstajic and Dragutinovic, which is certainly big blow for us.
Serbia must take 9 points from three next games to be sure.
I believe that Serbia will win, one way or another, in order to stay in a game before crucial last round clash with Poland in Belgrade.

Turkey @ 1.30
Portugal @ 1,10
Sweden @ 1.10
Italy @ 1,10
Poland @ 1,10
England U21 @ 1,15 / h1 @ 1.60
...
nothing is certain, but I can't avoid any of mentioned games.

Further investigation will bring a couple of games more, at first glance probably HW for Iceland, AW for Germany...

Re: Euro Qualifiers: 13th October

Group C

Greece, Norway and Turkey are looking for two places which leads to Championship.

Greece @ 1,25
Until the end of qualifications Greece is having the easiest schedule, while also have one game in hand and two points more than rivals.
They're hosting Bosnia, a team without any reasonable chance to go through.
Greece has to play vs. weak Malta and Hungary in final rounds, but their hardest game is certainly one against Turkey away, and that's next one.
With victory against Bosnia Greece will remain at the top, and as first placed will travel to Turkey on a game where one point is priceless and even defeat is not a disaster, cause they'll have a realistic chance to pick up 6 points from remaining games.
They will not risk anything in that match and Greeks will use all necessary pressure to collect three points which are crucial for them at the moment.
It was never easy to play in Greece in front fanatic crowd and friendly referees, and I'm not excluding a potential agreement between two sides.
I believe it wont be so hard, and I'm adding this match to list from previous post.

Doesn't sound much like the words of a "fan". Lumping your money on us not to win and praying we fuck up is exactly the sort of "fans" we don't need following Scotland.

Of course if we do get a great result against Ukraine, you'll be jumping for joy, and forget all about the shit you just wrote about us.

Fair enuff if u wanna back Ukraine from a betting point of view (in which i don't see any value anyway), but instead of betting against us for the sake of it, just don't bet on the game and enjoy the spectacle!

Re: Euro Qualifiers: 13th October

To be fair to Komp, he is saying that in his opinion there is value in backing Ukraine, as this is the type of situation Scotland tend to disappoint in(still paraphrasing here.)That makes the Ukraine win more likely(in Komp's eyes), therefore more likely to see value in the price. I wouldn't say it's betting against Scotland for the sake of it IMO.

I usually suffer a crisis of confidence before Scotland games, but this one I'm not sure. It's a key game no doubt, 3 points a must, but up against one of the big nations(which I'd still class Ukraine as, just) it still feels to me that we go into this one as underdogs(I'm talking mentally here) - and I remember being far more nervous in the build up to the Lithuania game.

Betting wise - part of me looks at the Scotland home record and think that we're a decent price here, part of me thinks(like Komp) that whatever the results v France, we are still only wee Scotland, with a mainly SPL/Championship side, against WC QFs, and think the value is then on Ukraine, part of me thinks that because of that the value could be on the draw, and part of me thinks that as both sides need the win, the value might be in laying the draw...

And part of me realises that I haven't a clue and will give it a miss! Hope this helps

Re: Euro Qualifiers: 13th October

I think you summed that up well Beanie. Edin i just know the way things pan out for Scotland and this is the time when things go tits up. Actually Edin i have to take umbrage with you over this one. I havent spoken shit about scotland all ive done is tell you all the way i see it. I dont bet with a heart i bet on what i think will happen and i think Scotland will not win this game irespective of form for either team and i will be laying Scotland as thats the bet in my eyes. If my instincts are proved wrong then at least i will have the joy a scotland win would bring but in all honest i know the way this works and to me the lay of Scotland is just one of them bets i can't get away from. It's what i do. I back against scotland in games like these when the rest of the nation boyented by the press think we're bloody world beaters. I have never once said that i am laying Scotland for the sake of it. I am laying scotland as thats what i do and it's served me well. dont hit me with that 'fan' shuit neither. Just because im a doubting thomas and not blinded with 'glory glory scotland' it doesnt mean i aint no fan. as i said i bet with my head and my soul not my heart and a lay of scotland is well worth the money to me with the softening of the blow.

Meh, didn't mean to be a cunt to u komp, just i know too many pessemist scottish "fans" who are just waiting for us to fuck up so they can say "TOLD YOU SO, TYPICAL SCOTLAND!". Surely even being in with a shout with 3 games to play in the hardest group is way above anyone's expectations!

Not that i'm saying u are 1 of them!! U just brought it off my chest

Re: Euro Qualifiers: 13th October

but thats what happens Edin. I aint that old but in the past 37 years ive experienced enough of these situations to see that oyu can throw the form book out the window and you couldnt back Scotland with any confidence. what about that Dutch game at hampden a few years ago. we were looking good before it and the same things where being said. i think they thumped us 5 or 6 1 at Hampden (it was hampden asnt it?) I just think that the bookies like the press are underestimating the power of Scootland shooting themselves in the foot. We can go to france and get a win and the next game draw 1-1 with the Faroe Islands. Not only do i think a lay ioof Scotland is a good bet (as i aint even considering form) but it's made an even better bet for me in that the only way i can lose is if Scotland get the victory that could well take them to the European Championship finals. I'll happily lose half a week wages if that was the case so to me i cannot lose here. i could just sit back and enjoy the game but when Ukraine pull out a performance that no one is expecting and Scotland look very ordinary in defeat i want something back to cheer me up a bit. no offence taken Edin and it's strong supporters like yourself that make me proud to be Scottish. I'm just not wanting to be left with nothing.

Is this a betting thread or a 'hedge my bets I told you we'd lose' thread?
I can reassure you that should you lose we will take the piss no matter what, and I expect the same courtesey should the mighty England fail.
Stop being gay.
I fancy Germany to do Ireland , Eire are proper rubbish at the moment and cant qualify really , without Stevie Ireland too , Germany looking good

Agreed Keem but the fundemental thing about all this is that i think that Scotland are not going to win and their a good bet not to. It's about thoughts on these games be they based on stats, form or feeling and i strongly believe that Scotland will not be getting 3pts no matter how much i would like them too. I have 'Betting Feelings' rather than thoughts and ive got strong feelings about this one. How influenced am i? I dunno but since the moment the final whistle went in Paris ive been saying i was gonna back against them and ive still got that feeling.

Fcuk shall i go? I'll have the Scottish and the English falling out with me. I wish i hadnt mentioned it now truth be told. Anyone got a list of the games that are at a 'backable' price?

Bah i wish i hadnt started this either now "look at komp who bets on feeling and thinks the past influences the future and look now he's only looking at teams with attractive prices'

15:00 Scotland (2.1) Draw (3.3) Ukraine (3.75) 105%
17:00 Iceland (2.2) Draw (3.25) Latvia (3.5) 105%
17:15 Cyprus (2.75) Draw (3.25) Wales (2.8) 103%
18:15 Romania (3.2) Draw (3.1) Netherlands (2.5) 104%
19:00 Denmark (2.88) Draw (3.25) Spain (2.55) 105%
19:45 Belgium (2.35) Draw (3.25) Finland (3.25) 104%
19:45 Ireland (4.3) Draw (3.4) Germany (2) 103%

right ill sod off and leave you 'pros' to it.

Re: Euro Qualifiers: 13th October

There doesnt seem to be great betting 1X2 opportunities this Saturday, and for me the 2.5 goals bet on the Internationals is more attractive (and actually more profitable during my pretty abysmal run of late... )

Armenia v Serbia – Under 2.5 goals – 8 pt stake @ 1.78 (Pinnacle)
A must win game for Serbia, but at the same time a very difficult game against an Armenian side that has only conceeded 2 goals and scored 2 goals in 4 home matches. Serbia have only won one of their 4 away matches, and although they should win, it may well be 0-1..(NAP)

Italy v Georgia - under 2.5 – 6 pt stake - 2.62 (Stan James)
Italy should win this easily, but then again this is Italy, and therefore the impressive scoreline does not fit within their psche.. I believe they will what is required to win – ie a 1-0, 2-0 win. They have yet to be involved in an overs game at home, and although Georgia aint no soccer giants, they have not been beaten by more than 1 goal away from home, of which one game was holding France to a 1-0 scoreline.. Can’t resist this big price…

Greece v Bosnia Over 2.5 – 6 pt stake -1.87 (Pinnacle)
A must win game for Greece against a Bosnia team who have score 9 goals in their last 4 away matches. Should be a few goals in this one..

Cyprus v Wales – Over 2.5 - 6 pt stake @ 1.83 (Stan James)
Well neither team can qualify and at the same time both teams can score and conceed in equal amounts – Cyprus – a goal machine at home scoring 10 goals in 4 home matches, and Wales are just recoveing from a 7 goal away thriller.. Goals look on the cards..

Rick, just to watch out for this this one, a few things I have been reading this week.

First of all Georgia have 2 17 year olds and 1 16 year old in their squad. One of the 17 year olds is a goalie. I don't know enough about Georgian footy so say they will or won't play, more than likely they won't.

All Topmoller, the manager, has said (maybe managerial psychology) that he isn't bothered about the Italy game, he would have cared more if he could have fielded his best side, which he can't and he sees the most of important game of the next two as the Scotland game in Georgia on Wednesday. He thinks they have much more chance there than in Italy (which they do naturally) and maybe he is just trying to take any expectations of the squad, who knows.

Georgia did score 2 in Ukraine and also scored in Scotland. 2.62 is a biggish price for the unders and I can see your thinking in that Italy tend to do enough and thats it but they may run up a few here.

Don't let any of the above put you off though!
