New Phone Required...
Right lads,
I'm looking to get my hands on a new phone. Long been a user of the payg but have decided on the switch to contract. I need some help in finding a good deal here's roughly what I'm looking for...
A free handset with free xnet minutes for under 30 quid a month, preferably over 12 months. I don't want any of these crap deals where you get half price line rental for 6 months... blah blah... Keep it simple.
Post away...

Re: New Phone Required...
Got a Samsung 500 in June , got it with " Dial a Phone " ....
200 minutes a month and a 100 texts , its on one of those cash back schemes , a warning to folk , make sure you claim your cash back at the correct time, its simple enough , you just have to send a bill to them and they square you up.
Works out at 15 quid a month , there is better , or should i say more expensive deals , but you do get a lot more free minutes...
Er ......wheres the sex ?

o2 have the best tarrifs and offers I reckon. I've been with them a few years now and although their customer service has a bad reputation it's certainly improved. I like them. You should definitely check them out.

I had the same offer too Wins, when ure contract runs out wins don't go back to dial a phone but get in touch with 02 direct and they will offer you a half price deal for 12 months as well as a new handset, this saves keep having to fcuk about claiming cash back with vouchers etc.
Also most agents like dialaphone are now reverting to 18 month contracts, if you contact 02 they will give you a 12 month one hence a new phone every 12 months and half price xnet deal.
I managed to get 200xnet minutes and 100 free texts for £14.99 a month.

Re: New Phone Required...
Forgot to add, with 02 any unused call time or texts are carried over for 3 months unlike a lot of other providers.
Plus you can also add on any special offers that appear like free calltime and free texts. all you have to do is text whatever the 'offer word' is and they add it to your account.

Re: New Phone Required...
What phone did u get Craig? i've been waiting on a Samsung D600 for weeks which arrived today. was just about to cancel it and get a Nokia n70 when the bugger arrived.
Looks a nice phone though and comes with a data cable to boot so i'm just doing the rounds and finding the best places for free ringtones etc.
Heres a good one if you can download it to your phone...

Have a few more names here if anybody wants one.

Re: New Phone Required...
Slick... I don't really know much about phones... Well I do but don't really bother with all the crap they can do nowadays. So I just picked out the latest Ericsson phone on a 12 month contract @ £19 a month. As long as it phones people and can take a half decent picture, I'll be happy! It was Orange if that helps?

No it wasent it was 02 you lying bastard
I take it you meant the colour of the phone is Orange, giz a shout when you get it and i'll have a look @ the spec but i'm sure it will play mp3 ringtones so there should be no problem.

Slick... Your right in that it's o2 but it's orange It has just arrived, it's an Ericsson W550i, it's says something about walkman on the box so I'd imagine it will play mp3 ringtones....
Checked the box to make sure it's there, which it is, put it all back in the box till I have something to eat, then I'll start fannying about with it.

Re: New Phone Required...
Ahhh, only just seen this thread.
O2 are good ive found. I currently get 500 texts free a month and something like 50 minutes free off peak each day.
My bill total is usually about £25, £35 tops but i do think they are one of the better ones to sign up with.
Nokia 7260 is the one i had. Superb phone i think and top quality pictures too you get from it. I lost mines but should be claiming off insurance tomorow for a replacement.
Get a free upgrade next month too so i am going to need to have a scoot about for another phone

Re: New Phone Required...
Slick,
How is that D600? My missus wants a new phone and she likes the look of it, but Samsung can apparently be a bit flakey on reception.
I got the N70, its a cool phone and with the expandable memory you can get all sorts of apps for it as well. The one downside is the aluminium facia which gets scratched to fcuk in no time.
