Having trouble getting the max out of the nuts....

Started playing a bit of poker again.. And ran into one of the problems i usely have.
Getting the best out of the nuts... I just seems to bet to little / to much / doing the wrong thing everytime i do something with the nuts.

Deceided to call, since he could bet with everything. And any heart would give me a flush draw, and with some luck (6s) would give me a great hand.

Cains, raise turn to around 7.50-9, your straight is very hidden (a gutshot) so it will be harder for them to put you on it.

Then bet the maximum amount you think your opponent will call on the river, probably between 1/2 pot to the full pot size

i like to reraise with a hand such as this.. then check the turn or river, then pop it.
remember that you are only getting paid if he has hit, and you know he has.. so don't be shy with the betting..

nh. you won the money and might not have squeeezed another cent from him anyway.. u never know.

maybe 1 in 10 times, I raise on the flop for a bit of hand disguising and to maximise potential value if i hit the str8 or my 2 overs (but thats just too loose to do all the time), but I definately raise the turn - however it's obviously just one way to play the hand...

I bump it to about 6$. He has position, so if he calls this raise, he will no doubt lead out again on the river.. if not I value bet 3/4 of the pot and he should pay me off (in an ideal poker world...)

If I feel like he thinks he is strongest (maybe he bets into me big on the river) then I seriously consider jamming all my chips on the river, as a value bet would be a waste.

I would raise the turn when you hit it cains. You want to start building the pot there so its big enough to make a good river bet and look enticing for him to call. He will find it hard to put you on a gutshot as well and there are far too many cards that might kill your action on the river if you slowplay, so a raise is probably best there in the long run. If he calls I would put a pretty sizeable bet on the river.

If this hand was played on pokerstars cains then its like pulling teeth there. It really is a total rock garden and very hard to get paid off on anything. The only time a lot of money goes into a pot seems to be set over set or when someone trys a bluff. The ratio of donkatrons to good players on there is pretty bad.
