2007-08 1+goal challenge

Looking foward to next season with the 1+goals bet. It's madness betting but I really enjoy the buzz I get from it.

Discipline is the key, along with banking along the way.

The main bet will start as last season with £50 taking only bets that fit with the criteria that I set myself for last season.

However, I also want to have five other banks of just £10 to have a play at the bigger odds offered in this market.

This will allow me to keep my discipline on the main bet but allow me to have a play without affecting my main bet.

Anyone is welcome to join in at whatever level they are comfortable with.

So 2007/08

Bank 1 £50.00
Bank 2 £10.00
Bank 3 £10.00
Bank 4 £10.00
Bank 5 £10.00

Lets play....:wasntme

Re: 2007-08 1+goal challenge

Probably start it in August trick. I know I've posted really early, but wanted to make sure the thread was up and running.

I really am that disorganised at times so it helps to have the thread ready and give others plenty of time to decide to have a go.

Know what you mean about the discipline hence the extra banks of £10 for when I get the urge, ooh matron.

The theory is the main attempt will stand a better chance if I stick totally to my rules.

Looking foward to you having a go again as you had a really exciting run last time.

Discipline is definitely the key, and that's why i keep losing!

The first few bets start off ok, then you start looking for a little bit bigger odds, then you try and plan a day where u can squeeze in the most games, and u end up betting on the feckin Bolivian 3rd division just coz there's nowt else to bet on!

I'll deffo be back when the footie season returns, and HOPE i can keep it a bit controlled...

Re: 2007-08 1+goal challenge

I know what you mean. I was looking at

Korona Kielce1 - 3Belchatow

I would never consider this bet as I know fcuk all about either teams, but I was bored.

Started off at 1.06. Thought I would get in about 1.12 but the odds took so long to rise it put me off.
Looking at the tables this one just smelled of goals but to add to my caution I think they last met and it was 0-0

The odds rose to 1.50ish and still 0-0. and I was really tempted to bet but the fact I knew naff all about them put me off.

Within seconds of that decision a goalfest started.

So many of us will fail through the urge to bet on teams we no naff all about.

I may be on a decent run with my present thread but I'm just like everyone fighting the urge not to bet on stupid games.

Hope many of you join in when the season starts and all of us prove it can be done.

But you will have to bank along the way or you have no chance imho.

Re: 2007-08 1+goal challenge

I've put 50 quid to the side for a bit of fun too.

Already done three trades before I saw this thread so not sure whether to after-event or not

Ah fook it, I'm going to as if I don't, I'll just get confused with my own records. I'm sure you'll believe me! Who'd afterevent for 11 quid anyway.

Bet 1 - Thun v St Gallen - £50 Lay 0-0 @ 14.5 - 1-0 - Returned £53.46
Bet 2 - Hammarby v Malmo - £53.46 Lay 0-0 @ 13 - 1-0 - Returned £57.76
Bet 3 - Atletico PR v Corinthians - £57.75 Lay 0-0 @ 16.0 - 2-2 - Returned £61.41
