Fed up with the lottery!

Seeing as I've never won a penny on the lottery in all the years it's been running, I've decided to invest my couple of quid a week in a different way. It will be much more fun and hopefully should last for the whole footy season. And if it all goes tits up, not that expensive.

Think I've seen someone do something similar in the past but I can't find a thread so I'm starting my own.

The idea is that I'll put an each-way accumulator on for the Winners of the English Premier League, Championship, Div 1, Div 2 and Conference. I'm selecting 5 lines now and will add an extra 2 lines each weekend as we work our way through the season.

If I can hit a couple of each-way lines, then it should cover the costs of the overall system. If I hit a winning line (yeh right ), then it'll pay a shedload out.

Chances are that my pre and early season lines may miss by a mile but as the season progresses, the selections can be made with a bit more knowledge (although the odds are likely to reduce with it).

For info, the each way is paying out on the first 2 in the Prem and then either 3 or 4 places in the rest of the divisions, depending on the bookie.

I did something similar a few seasons ago Wayne, i called it Pay in May (i did the thread on the pl) I had a return but it didnt cover my stake i dont think, what didnt help was the fact that Chelsea and Barnet had the league sewn up by the end of November.
I'd been placing two bets every week which was the wrong tactic looking back, i should of just fired loads more bets on early on like you are with this, so good luck with it, it's not a bad option compared to the lottery and you never know

I misread, you are only putting two bets on per week too, i didnt realize you were reposting older bets

what didnt help was the fact that Chelsea and Barnet had the league sewn up by the end of November.

Having said that i still got good prices on the other 3 leagues right up until the end of February (i think i still got Sunderland at around 9/1 in late January) and i think i was getting odds of around 3/1 - 7/2 on the the other league winners Luton and Yeovil (i think it was Yeovil) up until early March.

Good luck again anyway and take some insurance out... get Liverpool on that list

I thought I'd seen this done before. So it's your fault!

I've thought about putting Liverpool on as well but I'm still not convinced they're gonna win the PL - I just think they've had a good start and will suffer their normal poor run of form at some point that they tend to suffer every season. If they do turn out to have a genuine chance, I'll just start to include them later. Can't pick all the teams I guess.

Take your point about the number of lines - the more lines now, the better the odds if hitting one. This is just meant to be a bit of fun though so not really willing to put in more than a couple of quid a week. If it hits, fantastic. If it doesn't, no big deal.
