Re: Kitchen Sink -Third Time Lucky

UGH. Horror show going 1-for-3 (not as bad as last year...I didn't get a single one right! ).

Julia Louis-Dreyfus beats out Jane Kaczmarek and I should have seen it coming...Steve Carell loses to Tony Shalhoub. The Office winning is my saving grace.

BET 10: £54.43 loss (-£213.84)
BET 11: £54.46 loss (-£268.30)
BET 12: £106.06 win (-£161.70)

Totally wasn't worth it.

Re: Kitchen Sink -Third Time Lucky

UGH. What a bag o'shite that was. Joe Pelton wins. Frankie O'Dell second. Hoyt third, O'Donnell fourth, Holland fifth and Scotty sixth.

All over inside four hours. Great if you're a fan of shove poker. :

Bet365: (-£40)
The Greek: (-£161.70)

Re: Kitchen Sink -Third Time Lucky

...been a while since I bothered with this thread.

Last year's National TV Awards was a bit of disaster for me when picking Sally Lindsay to win Most Popular Actress when Doctor Who won all 3 awards it was up for (Drama, Actor and Actress). I think the fans and the BBC strike again and Doctor Who wins all three awards it's up for again.

Now this is odd. Doctor Who is 1/4 to win Most Popular Drama at Skybet and Billie Piper is odds-on at both Paddy Power (10/11) and Skybet (4/7) to win Most Popular Actress so why was David Tennant odds against? Because of Bradley Walsh and Ross Kemp!?

I missed the boat when David Tennant was 7/4 to win Most Popular Actor over at PP yesterday. He's now into 11/10 wirh Paddy Power (5/6 from 6/5 over at Skybet).

BET 16: £50 on David Tennant at 11/10 to win Most Popular Actor (Paddy Power)

Paddy's will allow me a maximum of £135.38 but I'm not in the mood just in case I'm on the wrong side of the fix. Winners are announced live on the night next Wednesday.

EDIT; How odd. David Tennant now down to 5/6. Purely on the back of my bet?

I've also placed £20 at 9/1 on Chantelle to win Most Popular Reality TV Contestant over at Skybet (now down to 7/1). She probably won't win but I'm having a a punt on the off-chance she does.

Re: Kitchen Sink -Third Time Lucky

Hmmm. Some movers in the eight markets over at Paddy Power (Skybet have given up the ghost).

Best Actor - David Tennant moves from 5/6 to 4/6.
Best Actress - Billie Piper moves from 10/11 into 8/11.
Best Daytime Show - The New Paul O'Grady Show moves from 2/1 into 13/8.
Best Entertainment Presenter - Ant and Dec firm up from 5/6 into 4/9.
Best Entertainment Programme - Odds unchanged with The X Factor still favourite at 8/11.
Best Reality Show - Big Brother into 8/15.
Best Serial Drama - EastEnders into 4/11 from 4/9
Best TV Contender - Richard Fleeshamn moves into second favourite. Chantelle drifts from 4/1 to 7/1. Pete still favourite but goes from 5/4 to 13/8.

BET 18: £40 at 13/8 that The New Paul O'Grady Show wins Best Daytime Show (Paddy Power)

Feel good story as Paul O'Grady recovers from his heart attack (depending how much ITV are still bitter that he moved back to Channel 4). ITV probably don't want to give Endemol too much airtime and will probably only allow a Big Brother win. I doubt This Morning can get ITV a home win here.

BET 19: £25 at 2/1 that Richard Fleeshman wins Best TV Contender (Paddy Power)

Best TV Contender seems like a fix is in place for Richard Fleeshman or Carol Thatcher so it's an ITV win (makes sense. Sharon Osbourne inexplicably won Most Popular TV Expert last year and that category was scrapped this year).

Betting ends at 10pm tonight.

Re: Kitchen Sink -Third Time Lucky

David Tennant won. Deal or No Deal and Nikki (14/1!?) scupper my plans though.

Bet365: (-£40)
Paddy Power: (-£10)
The Greek: (-£161.70)
Skybet: (-£20)

Big week for awards with the next one on Thursday night and there's a couple of surprisingly open bookies who'll I'll assault in a moment. Missed the Q Awards on Monday (thank fuck) as I'd have lost me shirt betting on U2 at 6/4 when the sneaky shysters at the magazine bet on Oasis to punt them down from 9/1 into 5/2 to be named Best Act in the World.

Re: Kitchen Sink -Third Time Lucky

bwin, Intertops and nordicbet should make me a very happy man on Thursday night. Look at these odds for the MTV Europe Music Awards and there are absolutely HUGE discrepancies as to who each of them will think will win.

Who do you trust!? Nordicbet because they're got their eyes and ears in Scandinavia? bwin because they'll probably have received a few shekels from a few folks? Intertops who seemed to have smoked some ganja?

bwin:

Intertops:

Nordicbet:

Look who's turning up to perform!

...also Jet, Muse, Snoop Dogg and outlandish (!?) but they're not important facts here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTV_Eur...ic_Awards_2006

WHAT I THINK WILL HAPPEN...

I'm a firm believer in the 'You turn up, you win something' principle which served to good effect when I took a chance last year on Coldplay at 9/1 over at Ladbrokes when they turned up to the Nordic Music Awards to win Best International Band (didn't quite work when i punted on Shakira to win Best International Female and Gwen Stefani won instead. ).

Why is this important!? I think it is. At the recent MTV Video Music Awards Madonna and the Red Hot Chili Peppers got mulitple nominations, didn't turn up and didn't win anything which suggests that the public vote wasn't so public (the voting was fixed) and/or the public's taste is a thoroughly whacky one.

WHO I THINK WILL WIN...AND WITH MONEY

Best Male: JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

I'm not worried at all by Robbie Williams (he'll be fobbed off with Best Pop). Justin is the host and the show will revolve around him (Christina Aguilera hosted the show in Edinburgh back in 2003 and surprise, surprise she won Best Female).

Justin was 1.50 at Nordicbet and now bet down to 1.36. How on earth is the 'evens' at Intertops still there!?

Limited to a £35 bet!

BET 20: £35 at 'evens' that Justin Timberlake will win Best Male (Intertops)

Best Female: NELLY FURTADO

The worry in past years is that the winners will merely put up an acceptance speech by video (Britney Spears did that back in 2004 even though the only one of the five there was Anastacia). Beyonce, Christina Aguilera and Madonna are obviously big BIG stars and could easily do that which makes this category a landmine to predict.

She's also nominated in other categories which means she's certainly not guaranteed to win here and may win for something else either in Best Song or Best Album.

Another danger is that there has possiibly been a gamble on Shakira as she was OTB over at bwin and is now 11/4, second favourite at 13/10 over at Nordicbet and 3/1 at Intertops.

I'll gamble on Nelly Furtado though and am prepared to face the consequences if I'm wrong with the juicy, juicy odds of 9/1.

Limited to a £6 bet!

BET 21: £6 at 9/1 that Nelly Furtado will win Best Female (Nordicbet)

Best Group: KEANE

Red Hot Chili Peppers are supposed to be in attendance over in Copenhagen but aren't performing....I don't think so as they're in the middle of a US tour which suggests if they win anything it'll be a pre-recorded acceptance speech by video or someone else will turn up to collect (possibly even Gnarls Barkley).

They're huge 1/2 favourites over at bwin/Nordicbet and are in my opinion, unbettable at those odds especially when i think MTV hate their guts despite four nominations.

As fas as I know, the Pussycat Dolls and Black Eyed Peas aren't in attendance (what a completely crap result if either win! But BEP has been bet down from 15/1 into 12/ over at bwin!) and a Depeche Mode win would be an absolute shocker. Keane are playing and are also up for Best Rock Act but I'll doubt they'll win that but I'll have a small tickle they win Best Group though.

Limited to a £5.33 bet!

BET 22: £5.33 at 9/1 that Keane will win Best Group (Nordicbet)

Best Hip-Hop Act: DIDDY

Why's he turning up to perform? Because he's going to collect the only award that he's up for, that's why (unless he's possibly there to collect an award for the Pussycat Dolls but that seems a wild guess from me). Sean Paul may be odds-on but I'm not afraid.

BET 23: £25 at 49/20 that Diddy will win Best Hip-Hop Act (bwin)

Best RnB Act: RIHANNA

Beyonce's the favourite with bwin but Rihanna is up for two prizes and I think she'll win one but not both of them (Best RnB Act and Best Song).

16/1 was such a pretty, pretty price for Rihanna but she's been bet down all the way into 5/1 (it's what happen when you miss the boat).

Limited to a £16.83 bet so a maximum of £100.95 winnings if she wins!

BET 24: £25 at 5/1 that Rihanna will win Best RnB Act (bwin)

Best Rock Act: THE KILLERS

It'll be either them or Keane. Neither, one or both may go home empty-handed but this is a monster price being offered considering that The Killers' only nomination is in this category and that yes, just like all my other predicted winners they're there to perform...and possibly get to pick up an award as well.

I'm not scared of the Red Hot Chili Peppers being a huge 7/20 favourite (1/2 at Nordicbet) at bwin. I am scared of Keane though but surely MTV will spread the love around like they're want to!?

Limited to a £6.73 bet so a maximum of £100.95 winnings if they win!

BET 25: £6.73 at 14/1 that The Killers will win Best Rock Act (bwin)

WHO I THINK WILL WIN...BUT NOT WITH MONEY

Best Album: Black Holes and Revelations - Muse or Loose - Nelly Furtado

Muse are up for three awards (Best Album, Best Alternative Act and Best UK & ireland Act) and I think they could provide the absolute shocker of the night just like Limp Bizkit did when they won Best Album back in 2001). They will win but I'm not sure what exactly. This is as good an award as any.

nelly Furtado could be surprisingly be a 'big' winner on the night. I wouldn't be surprised if she beats off Christina Aguilera, Madonna, Muse and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to get a very surprise win.

Odds of 11/2 and 15/2 suggests I should have a tickle but I've only allowed myself a £75 budget over at bwin just in case Thursday night is a complete disaster.

Best Song: Maneater - Nelly Furtado or SOS - Rihanna

it'd be a stupid win by either but we're still in an era of ringtones. Gnarls Barkley's Crazy should be the winner but Nelly and Rihanna are in attendance and i expect one of them will win.

Odds of 5/1 and 8/1 respectively over at Intertops.

Best Norwegian Act: Mira Craig

How the hell am I supposed to know!?

there was a Norwegian guy trying to break into the UK charts a while back called Robert pst. He's good but not here which is a shame.

WHO I THINK WILL WIN...BUT NOT WITH MONEY BECAUSE FOR ONE THING, NO-ONE's OFFERING ODDS

Best Alternative: Muse

Almost assuredly.

Best Pop: Robbie Williams

Consolation prize for Robbie...unless Justin Timberlake wins two.

Best Video: A Million Ways - OK GO

They're not on the bill but I suspect that being a huge internet favourite could help them to a win here. it's however a non- public vote category and it's voted for by MTV which suggests there could be a WTF winner in We Are Your Friends by Justice vs Simian.

====================

Well there you have it. The masterplan which is unfortunately going to be scuppered by low limits.

Those bets again:

BET 20: £35 at 'evens' that Justin Timberlake will win Best Male (Intertops)
BET 21: £6 at 9/1 that Nelly Furtado will win Best Female (Nordicbet)
BET 22: £5.33 at 9/1 that Keane will win Best Group (Nordicbet)
BET 23: £25 at 49/20 that Diddy will win Best Hip-Hop Act (bwin)
BET 24: £16.83 at 5/1 that Rihanna will win Best RnB Act (bwin)
BET 25: £6.73 at 14/1 that The Killers will win Best Rock Act (bwin)

Re: Kitchen Sink -Third Time Lucky

Hmmm. I'll add a few more bets. Earlier on I was worrying about a gamble on Shakira for Best Female...I may have been onto something as I did say she was OTB over at bwin (print screen from yesterday). Someone on Digital Spy has fed me an idea that her fans have rigged the vote in her favour. I'm gullible and easily impressionable after the Q Awards and the National Television Awards so I'll play along with this Chinese whisper.

Nordicbet are scared by my mighty £6 bet on Nelly Furtado in that they've trimmed her into 5/1 but they're very weary of the Shakira gamble as she's a 27/20narrow second favourite behind Beyonce.

Intertops seems oblivious.

BET 26: £35 at 5/2 that Shakira ft. Wyclef Jean's Hips Don't Lie will win Best Song (Intertops)
BET 27: £20 at 3/1 that Shakira will win Best Female (Intertops)

Re: Kitchen Sink -Third Time Lucky

Unfortunately for me, Christina Aguilera (didn't turn up but she and Justin Timberlake seem to work as a tag-team when they win things...14 to fooking 1!? ), Depeche Mode (should have seen a warning in Nordicbet's odds), Kanye West (added very, very late as a presenter and was bet down from 9/1 as shown in the odds below) into 11/2 (not shown) which seem to be missing from my original article...didn't have any more money to put into bwin as I bet my remaining pennies on sporting events instead and I would have added it as a late, late bet) and Gnarls Barkley's Crazy won (love the song, hate the fact I didn't bet on it even at a paltry 4/5. Might bet on it at the Grammys to win Record of the Year).

Led astray by some very dodgy Chinese whispers about Shakira (that'll show me to trust the whackos at Digital Spy) and I paid the price as it dented some of my profits for the night (Shakira was at the Latin Grammys yesterday and might have won if she didn't have to commit to that event instead. I'm supposed to know things like that! ).

Surprised by the Keane and Nelly Furtado snubs as I thought theyed win at least one that they were up for (I'd have given Nelly one).

Up with bwin, down with Intertops and Nordicbet (the latter really is scared...they could have taken me for a lot more money! ) and a profit of a measly £122.01 for the night. Eh.

Bet365: (-£40)
bwin: (+£153.34)
Intertops (-£20)
Nordicbet: (-£11.33)
Paddy Power: (-£10)
The Greek: (-£161.70)
Skybet: (-£20)

Re: Kitchen Sink -Third Time Lucky

Goal of the Month time...what will those pundits at the BBC think was the best? Sky Sports Premier League Preview went 1. Rio Ferdinand 2 Gareth Barry 3 Seol Ki-Hyeon. Yeah, I think they'll give it to Rio although I'm worried by Hleb's odds.

Paddy Power still have odds up until 9pm.

BET 28: £30 at 5/4 that Rio Ferdinand wins BBC's Goal of the Month for October (Paddy Power)

Whatever happens I'll probably book myself for a place at a Gamblers Anonymous meeting at this rate.

Hmmm. The shortlist of eight is finally up:

No odds up at Paddy Power who are concentrating on November's GOTM instead.

Oh go fuck yourselves BBC! Gareth Barry wins!? I really should have had a saver bet at 8/1. Fucking swizz if you ask me and that the panel had a punt at the 8/1 over at Paddy's.

Re: Kitchen Sink -Third Time Lucky

How's this for a no lose bet!? bwin have put Jennifer Hudson in the Best Actress category at the Oscars...

...human error? Palpable error? Is Best Supporting Actress included? No:

She's being campaigned in Best SUPPORTING Actress. Free money if you ask me unless they cry shenanigans. I'm fooked if they switch her to Lead Actress and she gets in there though.

...they're letting me have a maximum of £36.94 on it though so I'm limited yet again as to how much I can bet...a maximum of £64.65 profit if I win.

The Sun says Kate Moss and Pete Doherty are going to marry on January 18th. Nice. Junkies in love. £50 at 6/4, please. I'll probably be done up like a kipper but what the hey? It's only me first bet of the year of my thread.
