Re: Around The World In..... A Number Of Bets

Sitting here under the austrian night sky, bloated on wiener schnitzel & apple strudel I have planned a little detour for tomorrow that will take me through 5 countries and leave me back in Germany for the night.

Now the anal-retentive cunt that I am really wanted to only change countries in the same order as the matches bet on started, but for tomorrow I am throwing caution to the wind and ignoring the kick-off times and pretending they start in the order listed. I know it is reckless, but that is the kind of guy I am and to bring some sanity back to the world I will spend the day re-rating all 10,000 songs on my Ipod.

Anyway, the bets will follow in a while once I have unclogged my colon and partaken of some fine local ale.

It may be the drink, but I have just seen an opportunity to visit a part of the world I thought I would have to miss out, but I must be in Italy by tomorrow. Luckily, the italian u21 match is betting in-play on Betfair, so :

Euro. U-21 Champ. Qual.: italy(u21) v austria(u21) draw @ 1.96 £12.94 - Betfair

Right, I am off to get licquored up and then climb a mountain in my underpants

Re: Around The World In..... A Number Of Bets

Another loser and the bank is £159.51 + 3 unsettled.

Now I may well have drunk too much urbock 23, but I have developed a sudden urge to try and improve the world and so with the aid of the Asian Cup qualifiers I am going to the Middle East - watch out hezbollah here I come

Unfortunately, on thursday there is sod all football on and so I have to be back in central Europe at the end of tomorrow to bet on bloomin' golf, hockey or handball. I have worked out a possible route, but it involves visiting 19 different countries which is going to be one fucking tiring day. So, I am going to have one last look at the maps and the games being played and I will be back soon with the route for a potentially momentus day.

Re: Around The World In..... A Number Of Bets

OK, I have managed to reduce it to 13 countries tomorrow, but what was originally a 1 day sprint through the Middle East has now become a 3 night stay - and the first night is in beautiful downtown Baghdad

Here's how the route unfolds. Before it is light I will set off from a small port on the Adriatic coast in a rickety fishing boat to make the short journey to Albania. From there I go through Macedonia, Bulgaria into Turkey and then I am there. First Syria, then Israel and after a small swim down the Gulf of Aqaba (1st cheat) I am into Saudi Arabia. After that it is along the coast through Yemen, Oman, U.A.E. & Qatar and a small boat journey up the Gulf (2nd cheat) and I am in Kuwait. Then the day ends with a peaceful trip into Iraq and a night hiding in a hole I guess.

I am actually quite pissed off that I have had to cheat a couple times, which I guess is pretty sad, but it was the only way I was ever going to get to some of these places so I'll get over it.

Now, I've just got to get the bets done and I think given how many there are going to be that I will be reducing the stakes on some of them or maybe just do some doubles and triples.

Fuck me that weren't bad and if I had realised iraq were not actually playing at home, but in U.A.E. then I would have staked far less on them - how the fuck did I think they would actually be playing in iraq

Anyway, I will work out the current bank while I enjoy a tasty bowl of Pacha which I am sure cannot be as bad as it sounds.

Re: Around The World In..... A Number Of Bets

Cheers trickrick - I would like to say that I'm not surprised, but I'm bloody stunned. I generally hate betting on internationals, but maybe the thought of going into a war-zone sharpened the old mind.

I've one thing to say about the pacha - : - there are parts of animals that were meant to be pet-food and they should always stay pet-food.

Must admit that I have deleted a couple of things already on this journey because they may have offended certain humourless people and I have decided to try and leave all the stereotype jokes to komp, because nobody does it better

Although, I have a few thoughts on the Koran, and that geezer Muhammad in particular, that I could share

Re: Around The World In..... A Number Of Bets

Right, in all the rush last night to get all these bets sorted out listed on here I seem to have made a couple of errors, the most important of which was this : -

Quote:
Asian Cup Qual. : kuwait v australia 1(0) @ 3.6 £3.56 - SportingOdds
Now, the stake for this should have been £6.35 and my typing is shit at the best of times and as I was in a hurry I just didn't check the figures. Now, as I have said before the integrity of the rags to riches thread is of great importance to me and I would not want to be accused of after-eventing, so I will just forget about it. But, then I thought fuck it this is my little corner and I set the rules and if anyone has a problem then you know where to find me - besides there were 3 other bets with stakes of £6.35, so clearly that is what I meant to type.

As I have no idea about whether I can edit the original post or not I will just leave it as it is, but the bank has been calculated with the £6.35 stake.

So, the bank is now £199.39 + 3 unsettled.

Re: Around The World In..... A Number Of Bets

After yesterday's frenzy, it is going to be a quiet couple of days with me being out in the desert and there being almost fuck-all football on anyway today. Well, I am off into Kuwait for the Al-Khurafi Cup and I have a choice of 3 matches and very helpfully this is the first round of games so I do not even have any form to go on.

Still, that has never stopped me in the past and so I am going to back the team that only got 1 point from their games last year, but are odds-on on to beat a team who not only beat them at home last season but managed to get 10 points from their 6 games. Either something has changed in Al-Sahel's fortunes or betandwin are just randomly pulling their odds out of their arses.

Shit, that was almost a piece of analysis and I apologise for bringing such nonsense into this hallowed place

Al-Khurafi Cup: al-sahel v al-jahra 1 @ 1.85 £19.94 betandwin

Right, I'm off to find a camel and hunt down every date palm I can find. Then I will cut them down and salt the earth so the evil little bastards cannot grow ever again

Re: Around The World In..... A Number Of Bets

Turns out people out here actually like these friggin' dates and they do not take kindly to someone destroying their trees, especially someone riding a stolen camel. There was nearly a rather ugly incident this afternoon, which was only averted by me giving the small mob all the packets of Dolly Mixtures that I had left and agreeing to leave town. Well it was actually a hot & shitty patch of desert. So I moved on to a completely different hot & shitty patch of desert, and where was the the only shade I could find - under some fucking date palms

Quote:
Al-Khurafi Cup: al-sahel v al-jahra 1 @ 1.85 £19.94 betandwin
Well, perhaps unsurprisingly I cannot find the result of this game - even out here in Kuwait - and as betandwin take an age to settle any bet I will just leave it in the unsettled list for the moment.

As well as the betting bank, I think I should also keep a record of the number of countries visited as well.

Tomorrow I have another 3 bets and alot more hot & shitty desert, as I have to go right the way across Saudi Arabia - do you think they'd let me into Mecca - and then into my 22nd country, which is Egypt.
