The Buzz Lightyear '£75 to Infinity and Beyond' system.

I have £75 in a Victor Chandler account and this will be the bookies I use for my Buzz Lightyear system. Those of you reading this today are seeing it on its opening morning of existence and you will tell your children how you were there on the first day of its inception. This page will become a bible for all odds compilers around the country. Whispers will go around the betting fraternity every time a new pick is displayed and prices on my selections will tumble.

So are you ready?

Here are the first 3 selections - all singles and all for £25 win on each.

Huddersfield v Walsall @ 8/13

I'll be taking Huddersfield here. Walsall have a few injury concerns, primarily that of their player manager who still on his day can cause League one outfits some problems. Walsall were extremely lucky to get a draw on their last outing and Huddersfield are a strong League One outfit lying second in the table with only two defeats all season. One of those defeats was against Forest away on the opening day were the Nottingham outfit didn't deserve the three points (according to Forest fans I know). I think 8/13 is reasonably generous and I will be having a few quid on the home side wherever I see this price or better.

NottmForest v Hartlepool @ 8/11

Hartlepool have a strange record this season being better away from home than in front of their own crowd. They have three wins on their travels but these were to lower quality outfits like Blackpool, Doncaster and Bristol City. Forest on the other hand have had a real upturn in form and despite a loss against Southend (1-0 away - where we deserved to lose according to Megson) our record has been pretty good. I'll stick my neck out and say that Forest wont possibly lose this game today so if you're more of a nervy backer simply lay Hartlepool at the exchanges. For me 8/11 on the straight home win looks far, far too good to resist. A medium sized bet for me on the home win here.

Crewe v Luton @ 6/5

I do like the look of Luton away to Crewe for all the obvious reasons. They are odds against, Crewe are bottom of the league with only two wins in the last 30 games in this division and even with players back from injury it should take them time to regain full form and match fitness. The Hatters for me at 6/5 are too good to resist.

Starting Bank - £75.00
Current Bank - £0.00 (3 bets pending)
Total Bank - £0.00 (3 bets pending)

Bet Record 0/0

Re: The Buzz Lightyear '£75 to Infinity and Beyond' system.

Well the Buzz Lightyear system starts off well with a small profit on day one of trading.

Nottingham Forest 2 - 0 Hartlepool £25 win @ 8/11 = £43.18

Huddersfield 3 - 1 Walsall £25 win @ 8/13 = £40.38

Crewe 3 - 1 Luton

Starting Bank - £75.00
Total Staked £75.00
Total Returned £83.56

Total Bank - £83.56 (+£8.56)
Total Yield - 11.41%

Bet Record 2 / 1

Charlton v Fulham

I hate backing against Fulham as they can surprise anyone on their day with their attacking flair. That said I really fancy Charlton could take the spoils here as they have a striker in form in Darren Bent and their only two defeats have come against Chelsea (Champions and Champions elect) and Tottenham who I confidently expect to be a top 6 side this year. I don't really think that one can put Fulham into this catagory of top Premiership sides.

Zat Knight also returns for Fulham tonight and according to most Fulham fans on TDP he's a real donkey.

£20 @ 1.80 Home Win for Charlton.

Re: The Buzz Lightyear '£75 to Infinity and Beyond' system.

Hull v Reading
I quite like the call on a Reading victory tonight. I wont repeat much of what has already been written as there is no point. The price seems fair odds to me for a team in such good form. Hull will try and play tight against Reading and I would imagine that this could frustrate the home fans. I see Reading opening them up and winning by a couple of clear goals. £15 away win @ 5/4 (VC Bet)

Stoke v Crewe
I know Stoke are having a crappy run having picked up no points in their last four games but tonights opposition isn't very good either (especially away from home). Crewe have an away record of 0-3-3 and despite their late win against Luton on Saturday they have shown virtually no form for the last 35 games or so (having won only 3 matches.) Stooke have lost at home this season to Wolves, Cardiff and Watford. Wolves and Cardiff seem to be genuine play off candidates and at the time of losing to Watford that opposition was flying high too. I don't see Crewe in this kind of class or form and I expect Stoke to end their poor win with a narrow victory tonight. £15 home win @ 10/11 (VC Bet)

QPR v Plymouth
Another team with a questionable recent record is QPR. However on closer examination they have played some of the best sides in the division lately and fought out some tight games. They were unlucky on Saturday to concede a late equaliser away to Preston as well. I have looked at their recent losses to Palace and Leeds and noticed only a point from their game away to Milwall. However all these sides are smack in form and I don't take Plymouth to be in the same class as that. £15 home win @ 5/6 (VC Bet)

Re: The Buzz Lightyear '£75 to Infinity and Beyond' system.

I should call this the 1-1 draw system. Looks like BuzzLightyear aint going anywhere let alone infinity.

Hull 1 - 1 Reading
QPR 1 - 1 Plymouth
Stoke 2 - 0 Crewe £15 @ 10/11 = £28.64

Starting Bank = £75.00
Total Staked = £140
Total Returned = £112.20

Current Bank = £47.20 (- £27.80)
Total Yield = -19.85%

Bet Record 3 / 4

Re: The Buzz Lightyear '£75 to Infinity and Beyond' system.

Tonight I try and save the BuzzLightyear system by going for broke on the Champions League.

Lyon for me at home to terrible travellers Olympiakos. Generally I dont look at teams this short priced but I think that the French League leaders should hammer the Greek outfit comfortably.

Lyon home win - £40 @ 1/3

Anderlecht (a team I hate with a passion as amy Forest fan with long memories of their corruption) seem to have a fighting chance against a Liverpool side that struggles to score goals. That said I am having a small point on the Eurpoean Champions simply because their european form has been so impressive in comparison to their domestic results.

Liverpool away win - £7.20 @ Evs

Re: The Buzz Lightyear '£75 to Infinity and Beyond' system.

Man Utd v Spurs

I hate backing against Man Utd as I never seem to get them on a day when they lose. That said anyone who thinks that 6.50 isn't value on the away win must be MAD considering that Spurs are easily as good as Man Utd - man for man - considering Man Utds injury list.Man Utd have 9 first team squad members out for tomorrows game. Big names like Giggs, Neville, Heinz and Keane. Spurs have bought very well and the prices here are based as much on reputation as current facts.

£10 win @ 11/2 Spurs

Luton v Plymouth

I was very close to leaving this game but then I studied Luton's recent home form a little more closely. As anyone can see Luton haven't lost at home all season having a 4-3-0 record. Add to that the fact that Plymouth have had some creditable draws away to decent sides and it seems at first glance like a no bet. However - Luton have drawn at home to Leeds and Wolves (two of the best sides in the division). The only side of Plymouth's average ability to take anything away from Luton so far has been Sheff Weds who managed a 2-2 draw, which isn't bad form by Luton 7 games into the season. In other words Luton have beaten everyone at home you would expect them to have done (inc some decent sides that you might not, like Southampton, Norwich and Preston who will all be top half sides at the end of this year) and I think that this form line indicates that they should be too strong for Plymouth.

Successful punting is all about spotting value so it is with still a little trepidation that I am backing Luton as 4/6 as that price is just about right in my book.

£10 win @ 4/6 Luton

Southend v Barnsley

Southend have lost their last two games away from home and this has meant that their price has drifted out to 4/6 which I consider to be a little value punt now. Barnsley have been fairly hapless away from home so far this season picking up only 4 points (1 win, 1 draw) from 6 games and nothing indicates that this away slump is about to be arrested. Southend on the other hand have a good home record 5-1-1. My team Nottingham Forest went away to Southend a week or two back and lost 1-0 which is the only game we have come away from pointless in 7 league outings. We were battered that day and Megson admitted we had come across a far better side. Based on that experience and the 4/6 available I will be having a bet on the home win here.

£20 win @ 4/6 Southend

Chester v Bury

Chester have a good home record having banged in 18 goals in only 7 matches. Bury have had a decent run of form in the league having not lost in their last 4 outings. However on closer examination all of those games were against bottom half opposition and I see Chester as being in a different class to those sides. I think that Bury will give a decent account of themselves but I expect Chester to simply outscore them today.

£17.73 win @ 3/4 Chester

Torquay v Macclesfield

Two sides right at the bottom of the football league. Normally I wouldn't touch this with a bargepole but Macclesfield are that bad away from home I can't resist the near even money on offer for the home side. Torquay have beaten some average away sides at their own ground like Shrewsbury and Lincoln and I am taking this factor with me to give some confidence that they will be too strong for Macclesfield. According to the BBC Macclesfield are also suffering from some key injuries and I am hoping that their replacements are no better than the normal eleven that do so badly away from their own ground. The only worrying factor is that Macclesfield did turn in one decent performance away from home this season in the Carling Cup - where they beat my side Nottingham Forest 3-2 at the City Ground.

£10 win @ 10/11 Torquay

Conclusion

5 selections - £67.73 staked.

Good Luck Gett1n.

Considered Spurs myself but its not i hate going against Man Utd, i just refuse to when Rooney is playing as he makes such a difference to their play these days and i mean, a massive difference.

Minus Rooney and im all over Man Utd's opponents.

Quite like the look of all your picks today actually

Re: The Buzz Lightyear '£75 to Infinity and Beyond' system.

Thanks Kiko.

This was a forgotten £75 that I had about in an account (VC Bet) that I had also forgotten about .

As I'm running the system purely through VC Bet I have been a little unlucky so far, as if I had selected the best prices, as opposed to posting up the ACTUAL odds I am betting at, my system would be about level at the moment.

Anyway - the whole account is on todays games so we'll have to wait and see how it gets on.

To infinity and beyond!!!
