Bloody awful aren't they
suppose its not for nothing that the gay population in Paris has devoloped a HUGE interest in rugby (the showers , not the pitch ).
For those who are that way inclined you should check out thier team calander " Les Dieux de Stade".

The rugby trader in PP must have been on the beer, He only put the odds up in the last 15 min.

Re: Rugby Union, France, Top 14.
I was thinking of taking a punt on Brive later on but a few things are holding me back: Whats at stake? How many get relegated, is it two or three? If its two the whats the motivation for brive, they cant make the heineken and are reasonably safe, Perpignan are in fine league form and will want to consolidate their top four place. I know they have made a few changes but are they that weakened?
What do you think snodser?

Go to L'EQUIPE: toute l'actualité sportive en direct (football, rugby, tennis, basket, cyclisme, f1)
At the top you'll see "Rugby, Direct" ( second box from left)
Don't worry, little or no french involved, just live scores.

Brive had every chance to win this, (even with a ref with blinkers) but they were undone by a Perpignan side playing real "rugby latin".
For those unaware of this rugby "technique" its what Martin Johnson & Dalaglio did so well (though they are not alone), cheat, spit, kick etc and play the altarboy in front of the 'ref.
Its extremly cynical & often down right dangerous but Brive only have themselves to blame. They did not kick their penalties (on the advice of their coach ) and fell into the sort of "handbags" game that suited USAP (bit like Italien footballers, or Ronaldo, or Rooney, Or Drogba........Oh wtf, like soccerplayers in general ! ).
I suppose the only positive side is that no-one was seriously injured......................

Re: Rugby Union, France, Top 14.
Unless I've made a mistake I'm only "up" 3.8pts on the T14 !
Worst WE since I started here
Thankfully things are going a bit better in the H/EC - Cups

Re: Rugby Union, France, Top 14.
Your a bit unlucky that your the resident french expert and dont really have anyone to bounce your ideas off. The opposite being the heineken and challenge cups where we've been talking about the matchs all week and got 5 of 6 bets right.
One piece of advice that I mentioned on the magners thread is that I'm going to avoid games where there are question marks for one or both teams i.e Ospreys/dragons, Bayonne/Bourgoin and Brive.
Nothing personal but I think you're trying to force your picks a bit, not every bet has to be 10pt or 5pt selection. As you said yourself the Bayonne game was a minefield.
Still tomorrow to make a packet
