Re: Rugby Union: Guiness & Magners

Apart from betfair have you any other forums red?

I've found one or two but they are in french, but not just T14, everything from h cup to NRL.
I'm going to papertrade them for a while to see what gives...

The season is almost over (5/6 days T14) but who knows, we may be back next year? & we definitely need some more posters to sustain a profit.

A bientôt,

Snodser

Re: Rugby Union: Guiness & Magners

Yes I watched it. Poor stuff and Williams was rightly annoyed his side didn't get a bonus point. No danger of the bet not coming in.

RE the bottleneck, it was solely due to the original game being snowed off (rare enough in Ireland) AND Munster progressing so far in the HEC.

A lot of people put the ML down, but it is far better than it is often given credit for. With only ten teams and the local derby factors, even the bottom teams are well capable of upsets. There are plenty of games in the T14 and GP where sides don't field full strength either, so it isn't actually as far away in standard as some people make it out to be. In fact I'd be pretty confident that the top sides in the ML - Cardiff, Ospreys, Munster and Leinster would be upper half of the table in the other leagues also.

Not sure I agree about Connacht deserving it either. The Dragons have similar resources but play more attractive positive rugby. And are better supported. The locals just won't go and watch. I feel sorry for the players, and the IRFU could certainly do more, but I think they need a change of coach and outlook at this stage.

Re: Rugby Union: Guiness & Magners

Some good points there Doc. The ML is often put down by people who dont actually watch it and are thus ignorant to the standard of play. There's talk of reintroducing the top 4 play off system which should help remove some of the meaningless end of season games. With regard to Connacht you've hit the nail on the head, I reall hope that Bradley is'nt appointed the next Munster coach.

You boys should be able to answer this.

After reading the papers it looks like a tight win for Cardiff & Ospreys should look after Edinburgh.

The bookies are giving Connacht + 9 10/11 and Ospreys -12 10/11.

I'm thinking of running with that but what do you think?

Cheers.

I would'nt trust the ospreys to kick snow off a rope at the moment and connacht are still playing for a place in europe. I'll have a look at the teams, weather, etc and i'll get back to you.

Re: Rugby Union: Guiness & Magners

Had it good look at the ospreys/edinburgh game and i just dont fancy it the only bet i'd recommend is to put the ospreys to win outright in a multi.

Th other game is of much more importance with both teams still having something to play for. Connacht have a fairly good record at home to welsh teams but the blues still have a long shot at the title.

Connacht: G Duffy; M Mostyn, M Deane, K Matthews, D Riordan; T Nathan, C McPhillips; B Wilkinson, A Flavin, R Morris; D Gannon, A Farley (capt); J Muldoon, J O'Connor, C Rigney.br />Replacements: J Fogarty, R Loughney, M McCarthy, R Ofisa, R Shaw, A Dunne, O Treviranus.
Blues: Ben Blair; Jamie Roberts, Tom Shanklin, Gareth Thomas, Tom James; Nicky Robinson, Jason Spice; Gethin Jenkins, T Rhys Thomas, Taufa¿ao Filise, Deiniol Jones, Scott Morgan, Maama Molitika, Martyn Williams, Xavier Rush (capt).
Replacements: John Yapp, Gareth Williams, Bradley Davies, Ben White, Mark Lewis, Richie Rees, Dai Flanagan. Referee: Nigel Owens (WRU) NOT A NUETRAL REF???

It'll be a case of who blinks first and personally I think the blues are a good shot at -9 10/11.

Few bets I like Blues outright 1/4(better odds elsewhere) 10pts

Blues - 9 10/11 7pts

Blues points under 24.5 9/10 4 pts all with paddypower

Re: Rugby Union: Guiness & Magners

I'm the opposite wrt Connacht

Blues have no realistic chance. Connacht have a real (if small) chance of overtaking the Dragons. Dragons have 3 games in a week (Leinster twice and Ospreys once). Connacht are only 5 points behind with two games left, both at home. A single point for Leinster in their last two games means even a 10 point haul by Cardiff won't be enough. Even the dubious honour of being the top Welsh side is more or less sown up - they are 8 points clear with 2 games left.

Connacht tend to do well against Cardiff too - good value in the +9 IMO. I wouldn't rule out an upset either.

Agree to an extent about the O's - they are very flaky in the league this year. However, this is their last home game, and there is nothing to play for the Gunners. That should be neough for the O's -12 IMO.
