Bettingzone Rugby League Picks

I might as well post this whilst im in. I dont see a thread that looks similar and we might as well keep other site's picks and thoughts to themselves to avoid confusion and disrespect.

Quote:
St Helens v Bradford (+14)
The Bulls have been rocked by some bad news this week with Terry Newton, their standout hooker, ruled out. They were already without their other regular rake, Wayne Godwin. In addition Glen Morrison, who does so much good work for Bradford, is out for the season. They are in for a tough night despite Chis Flannery and Jason Cayless being out for Saints. [

The home side are going great in attack right now and they look too strong for a Bulls outfit who are short of confidence, which is always dangerous going to Knowsley Road.

Harlequins (+14) v Leeds
The biggest problem for Leeds right now is maintaining their intensity. They are eight points clear at the top of the table and have a Challenge Cup semi-final with St Helens looming large. It would be easy for them to lose concentration and in games like this it isn't a question of how many you win by, you just need to win.

This is a tricky one and the handicap is a little more than I'd like but I have to stick with Leeds to cover. They are the better team and are playing well but this is a tough one to call.

Catalans v Wigan (+2)
The question for Wigan is will Gareth Hock and Phil Bailey play? If they are both out then the Warriors are in trouble. Cameron Phelps will make his debut for the visitors and while he is a steady player, he could take a little while to adjust. I am going for the home side and they are specials if Hock and Bailey miss out.

Warrington v Hull KR (+10)
Hull KR have been struggling over the last month. They started the season very well but last year they were somewhat restricted when it got drier and it looks like the same is happening. Warrington had a good win last week at Harlequins and the players know they owe their home fans one after an embarrasing defeat against Castleford last time. I fancy the Wolves to win and cover the start, they need to start regaining some credibility.

Hull v Castleford (+12)
Hull are getting a few of their better players back now and are building confidence. They are at home, and in recent years you never oppose them at the KC Stadium. I am sticking with that for this one. They should be way too good for Castleford who failed to capitalise on a tired Wakefield performance last week. Hull can start to get on a roll with a comfortable win

Wakefield v Huddersfield (+6)
Huddersfield have lost their coach but have had two weeks to prepare for this one. They will have been able to get away and freshen up and the players can come back in a different state of mind. Wakefield have had a busy schedule but continue to cover the spreads however I'm going for the Giants. They are a fresh team and have a good record at Belle Vue. They could even win the game.

Roosters v Panthers (+8)
The Roosters have four key forwards returning from State Of Origin and that will improve them significantly from last week's mauling against Manly. They are a team who can bounce back and I am not convinced Penrith are the real deal despite their good run. The Roosters to cover.

Sharks v Warriors (+8)
Cronulla had an excellent win last week but then again the Warriors had a very rare win on the road - away at Newcastle. It's a tricky one this but the Sharks at home - and with Brett Kimmorley in outstanding form - can win and cover.

No probs Redroar. I generally leave you rugby fellas too it as you all seem to know what your up to. I just noticed that 2 of the tips at the end were possibly mentioned on other threads. I will post these weekly on thread on their own. to me its good to see what the 'pros' think too as me and the guys at the Racing post are at looggerheads all season in the scottish football leagues and i still say i know the game better than these dudes. Good to see what their saying though for their money.

Re: Bettingzone Rugby League Picks

Cheers Komp, some of us have a small idea of whats going on but when it comes to Aussie league the boy from Wexford knows his stuff .

I'm on the ffrench league (though Doc does give his tuppence worth ) & Doc & reds have the home nations covered.

Internationally speaking its a bit more open.

Anyways, its drawing to a close now, one or two international fixtures & the end of the french league, will we back next season Kompmeister?? Now THAT is the question..................

Re: Bettingzone Rugby League Picks

4 from 5, Harlequins providing one of the schocks of the season to prevent the perfect record. The acid test will be today with the notoriously tricky to pick middle/lower table super league games.
