Did not see the game, will be shown later on tonight.

Could you be a bit more specific reds?

Still think the Boks will win outright .

NZ ambition next week will be to to wave goodbye to SA without them having a losing bonus point on home soil. Press and pub might now start to get behind the Blacks. ABs look good, agree again!

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union

Austrailia win.

NH teams haven't a hope with SH refs. Mind you , they have always been piss poor.

Can't dispute the Aussies win, better team.

But since when can you "contest" the ball on the ground only in a gold shirt?
Chabal was pissed off & he was right.
Their (Aussie) scrum was a joke, Baxter deserved the bin. As did Waugh, permantly offside, spent more time on his knees in the rucks than the Pope. Horwill should have been binned as should Harryjackanory. Can't stand the basque myself but I'm bloody glad he got the few digs in.

Then he bins Boyet for nothing!

Until SH refs actually apply the rules of the game (never happen, they don't know them!) better off staying awy from these fixtures.

Aus deserve the win against a french "B" team but 30 pts? No Way,
15 max if the 'ref knew what he was doing.

They're going to get they're arsed kicked in the Tri.

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union

Early news for next weeks game is the John Smit is out, big loss will put the struggling SA scrum under even more pressure.

I think the Boks will get an 6/9 point start next week and NZ will cover it.

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union

Sorry Snods

In reference to your more specific post: SA seemed to be all geared up for a forward battle, especially in the lineouts, which never materialised as NZ refused to kick to touch. It was clear that a few of the SA's had never played under the ELV's, especially James(Steyn should start next week) , the new rules of free kicks instead of penalties for killing the ball suited NZ and SA were'nt clever enough to do the same. In short SA had no plan B and De Villiers learned a few valueable coaching lessons.

Stuart Dickinson played his part in floging SA at every oppertunity, he did balance it out by dissallowing a perfectly good NZ try.

SA as they were in the WC are clueless in the backs, DeVilliers at 12 being the only exception, and on the basis of that game they have no hope of winning the Tri Nations.

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union

Two changes for NZ with Aofa replacing Somerville and Boric in for Thorn

First prices out has NZ -8, which I'm taking a nice piece of before they change their minds.

Aofa comming back from an injury , he has better hands than Somerville who was poor in the first half , Thorn is suspended for the tackle on Smit , S.A. will lose the influence of Smit as you say in an earlier post.

Like you red I think the cap will go higher so worth an early bet.

My only concern is if an injury were to happened to Nonu , who would replace him , it would require a significant rejig of the backline , Carter at 12 perhaps?

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union

Heading south, same direction as chances of SA getting even a losing bonus point out of this visit. To the House of Pain where it's forecast to be cold and windy.

I'll be having a look at NZ by 13+ on the TAB.

+70 points Tri-nations so far.

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union

Butch James stays at 10; Steyn on bench. Percy starts at 15.

I'm getting an early salvo in

33pts NZ -8 @ 10-11 (sportingbet)

This is much the same spread as last week and can't see where Bok improvement is going to come from. 11 pt margin last week and could/should have been 18 with Conrad Smith's ("in front of the kicker") try.

Doubt Boks will score a try this week, despite improved attacking threat at full-back. Back line clunky.

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union

Sportingbet went as low as -7 yesterday which I missed but think its academic as I think NZ will win by double figures.

Monty at full back is hit or miss. He can only kick better the butch but had a terrible season in france(Snods?) ans has played little or no rugby under the ELV's.

I think Jantes is very unlucky to be dropped and bringing out of form and out of shape Pieterson back in is a mystery to me. DeVilliers really showing his coaching inexperience here.

NZ -8/9 maximum bet

Would'nt say terrible but did not play to a stardard expected of an international.
Kicking alright but the rest was pretty ordinary.

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union

SA performance pitched at 38-43 on the spreads. There's a -5 in the equation for missed penalty, drop goal, yellow. -10 for a red.

To get up to this SA will have to score two tries (or win) and I can't see either of those.

2.5pts SELL SA perf @ 38

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union

I have already placed my bet of New Zealand to overcome the handicap yesterday.
Now I'm not so confident , South Africa can't play as poorly as last week can they ?
Diffficult to see where they can get their tries from though , I can see S.A. kicking a lot more into touch this week and trying to win the opposition lineout ball especially with Thorn out of the All Blacks side . New Zealand have a "relative" inexperienced pack which played well on Saturday
On the plus side New Zealand produced some excellent moves which exposed holes in the South African defence if they can continue with their tactical superiority they should win be hopefully it is not too close a match.
