Re: World Championship Snooker

Well done Joe Perry, he definitely deserved the win there and was never a 7/2 shot, or indeed a 6/5 shot when 8-7 up.

As I suspected Hendry is all 9/4s and 5/2s, maybe someone can step out of line and offer up a 3/1 please? If not ill just enjoy the spectacle

Re: World Championship Snooker

I think this is a good semi-final line up.

Hendry - can the old man (jesus the guy is 39!!) defy the critics and take an 8th title
V
O'Sullivan - can he keep the demons away for another 5 days

Carter - everyone snooker commentators' tip for the top gets a chance to prove them right and fulfill his potential
V
Perry - bit of a surprise, an underdog who has impressed people with his bottle etc.

Cases can be made for backing either player in either match. I would love to see Hendry gain one more title, but at side time Ronnie needs to win a few more world titles to achieve greatness - but as we know he can slip up at anytime in a tournament.

If forced I think i would go for the overs in the Carter v Perry match - the quote is 29.5, which seems a little on the low side as I can see this being a scrap all the way through with no player managing to put a run of frames together.

Re: World Championship Snooker

Have gone for over 29.5 frames in the Carter/Perry match @ 3/4 With Sportingbet.
Also had Perry +2.5 @ 8/11 with Skybet.

Re: World Championship Snooker

Gl Hype. I think both matches are priced rightish but if I was to bet then theres possible value on Hendry 5/2 and Perry 6/5 on the basis I cant see any value whatsoever for odds of O'Sullivan 4/11 or Carter 8/11. Id defo go for the against odds duo.

Id also go for the overs on both the frame totals. For the Hendry match Over 29 frames is 6/5 at bet365, that doesnt look bad at all. 6/5 on that means they reckon theres more chance than not of one of them kinda running away with it and im not sure about that. Although Ronnie has won comfortably in all his 3 other matches I guess.

Ronnies won 10 frames in a row cant imagine how that would ever have happened to Hendry before. Totally blown him away

Re: World Championship Snooker

Made it 11 in a row in the end(and still going) 4-1 to 12-4. Ronnie has done that in virtually every match so far - share the first session and then destroy the 2nd. Staggering snooker - it'll be over tonight at this rate. Will be lucky to have a final session tomorrow.

For old times sake I hope Hendo can pull something out the bag but he was barely getting 1 chance per frame this morning...might need a repeat towel/retiral incident

Re: World Championship Snooker

Ronnie was pretty awesome there wasn't he?

Carter won 17-15 Perry, so I scraped home with both of my bets to get a bit back.

Carter has done really well to get this far, and I think must gain a tremendous amount of self belief from his performances this last fortnight. My worry is that he gets completely blown away by O'Sullivan here, which would turn the experience into a massive negative.

I am tempted by the 5/6 -5.5 handicap with the Tote. Will have a little think on it!!

Re: World Championship Snooker

Good stuff 2damn.

Load of varying handicaps floating around. The extreme ones being +8 and -8!

If I were betting on either player for the handicap id form my thinking around an 18-12 scoreline I reckon, that seems fair. So thatd be Ronnie -5.5 @ 5/6 (Tote) or Carter +6.5 @ 10/11 (bet365).

Given that theres so many handicap vairables its strange that im in agreement with you over the best one 2damn. If I were betting I would go for the Ronnie -5.5 @ 5/6.

11/2 for the straight Carter win anyone

Re: World Championship Snooker

In 2004 Ronnie beat Hendry 17-4 in a similar great fashion in the Semi then beat Dott 18-8 in the final. History to repeat itself somewhat?

Ronnie has done no worse than a 13-7 win in all his 4 matches so far as well. Hmm that Ronnie to win 18-12 or better @ 5/6 is tempting.

Re: World Championship Snooker

Have no money in the Tote, and don't want to take the 4/6 tat's available elsewhere.
So have decided to see how the first session goes, if Ronnie gets off to a slowish start then might be something better available at some point this afternoon.

Re: World Championship Snooker

I thought the same 2damn, it wouldnt be the first time he got off to a slow start and then battered someone. I mean he was 4-1 down to Hendry just last game. Got off to a slow one against Liang Wen Bo too. The best one I remember was when he beat Dott 18-8 in that final in 2004 I mentioned above he was 5-0 down.

I also thought it kicked off at 2.00pm - wonder why the later start?
