Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Well, Greg looks likely to be in the skate off with Aggie (3.25 and 2.6 to be eliminated on Betfair)..Fingers crossed it's Greg, although I have placed a saver on Aggie at 3.25..

A solid performance from Suzanne, although the pesky Gareth looked good tonight and appears to be fighting favouritism with Chris...

NAtalie looks a possibility as well..

In fact the more I think about it the more I am siding with a Greg/Natalie skate off..

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Got my punts on a few days ago...5.70 on Suzanne, 15.50 on Steve and 55.00 on Tim.

Since then Suzanne has shortened nicely, but Steve has doubled in price to 29s! Has he lost a leg or summat?

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Still confused about Greg not ending up in the bottom 2, but heyho.. 11/2 is on offer for him to go next week, and although not quite as tempting a price as I would want, i still think it's backable..

Looking at the match bets, I am very surprised that Greg and Steve are still 5/6 the pair.. I would definatley price it in favour of Steve...A decent price for Steve methinks as he is definately more worthy than a supposed coin flip chance...

Aggie's 9/1 price against Michael is a ludicrous one. Why the judges love Michael almost smacks of some kind of conspiracy to keep him in.. He is fcukin shite - period..yet they love him? Madness - and so is the price of 9/1, as you can see the judges almost baiting the audience to keep voting for her by saying how shit she is.. Ok you would think that she would go before Michael - but 9/1 !?!

I am also surprised that Suzanne and Gareth are both 5/6 as I would have thought that Gareth was the outstanding performer on Saturday and yet his price on this market has drifted..? Having took the 11/8 on Suzanne I am obviously pleased at this move, but if I was a bookie I would have held the price. However as I said earlier, I think there could well be a carve up between Gareth and Chris, whereas at the moment there doesnt appear to be any female threat to Suzanne at all..

Poor performance from Tim..There is potential there but I get the impression his ego boosting blossoming career in the States and his constant tooing and froing acorss the pond , coupled with the zero chemistry between him and his partner, and the hint of arrogance about him that doesnt bode well...

I get the impression there is definatey some mileage in both Linda and Samantha... But at this moment Suzanne is running them ragged even at this early stage.. Still I think that Linda could well be the dark horse to progress for a few more weeks..

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

A week is a long time in reality TV. I can't really disagree with much of what you said although I can't pick a winner from Chris, Gareth or Suzanne...and neither seemingly can the bookies!

By betting on a female at 7/4 as the winner you may as well be betting on Suzanne Shaw at 2/1 as she's surely only one of the four left that will last the course.

It's absolute gubbins at this stage as to what should happen. There's been no seemingly good rhyme or reason why a couple should be in the bottom two so far (I've even forced myself to watch the repeats on ITV2 now! I thought the Russian might have helped Natalie edge the skate-off against Tim but the judges were more impressed by Lord knows what...a couple of small jumps!? It's ridiculous).

One could argue is that Aggie has a natural fanbase (housewives) and that's why she's surviving and of the two that are gone that they didn't have much of a fanbase. One assumes Irish support for Samantha Mumba may be non-existent. Linda Lusardi could go far purely because of Emmerdale support.

Updated odds from Stan James...

Match-betting:

* Gareth Gates 10/11 vs Suzanne Shaw 4/5
* Greg Rusedski 4/6 vs Steve Backley 11/10
* Chris Fountain 1/20 vs Linda Lusardi 15/2
* Michael Underwood 1/33 vs Aggie Mackenzie 9/1

Top female odds from Stan James:

Suzanne Shaw 1/7
Samantha Mumba 13/2
Linda Lusardi 8/1
Aggie Mackenzie 33/1

Top male odds from Stan James:

Gareth Gates 5/4
Chris Fountain 6/4
Michael Underwood 7/1
Greg Rusedski 14/1
Steve Backley 16/1
Tim Vincent 16/1

3rd elimination odds from Stan James:

Aggie Mackenzie 2/1
Steve Backley 6/1
Linda Lusardi 6/1
Samantha Mumba 6/1
Greg Rusedski 6/1
Tim Vincent 6/1
Michael Underwood 8/1
Suzanne Shaw 25/1
Gareth Gates 25/1
Chris Fountain 25/1

Updated to win outright odds from Stan James:

Suzanne Shaw 2/1
Gareth Gates 9/4
Chris Fountain 5/2
Michael Underwood 10/1
Samantha Mumba 20/1
Greg Rusedski 20/1
Steve Backley 25/1
Linda Lusardi 25/1
Tim Vincent 25/1
Aggie Mackenzie 100/1

Winning gender odds from Stan James: Male 2/5, Female 7/4

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Breaking news as it were...today's Bettingzone Market News:

1135: Sky Bet have refunded all bets placed on GMTV presenter Michael Underwood after he broke his ankle in training for this weekend's 'Dancing On Ice' show.

Helen Jacob, Sky Bet’s entertainment manager, said: "Michael was definitely a dark horse in the competition and his charisma and humour would have taken him far.

"We wish him a speedy recovery and feel that refunding all his backers was the only thing to do."

Meanwhile the rest of the show's contenders are gearing up to impress the judges with their new ice moves. Gareth Gates is 2/1 favourite to skate to victory, while Aggie MacKenzie looks the likely celebrity for the boot and is quoted at 2/1.

=============

I really should have had a look at the 'who will quit first?' market.

No idea if there'll be an elimination this weekend but one imagines there still will be.

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Still confused why Greg want in the bottom 2, but I hope sense comes back to normality today and Greg gets the axe. The worst performer in my opinion, and unless there is a secret legion of fans voting for this stiff, charisma-lacking carboard box then he needs to go !!!!...

Greg Ruseski to be the 3rd elimination - 6 stake @ 9/2 (BetDirect)

Jason agrees. 'Ice' judge hits out at "lost cause" Greg - Digital Spy

Michael Underwood has a replacement...apparently it's ex-Coronation Street star Zaraah Abrahams (who!? She's nice enough to look at though).

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Hmmm. Samantha Mumba gone as she loses the skate-off 5-0 to Steve Backley.

I suppose her hamstring injury did her in as much as the judges did (very unkind words...if it had been Suzanne theyed probably have kept her in because she had 'potential' as opposed to Steve having more 'energy').

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Nothing really to sink your teeth into unless an apparent spat between Suzanne and Zaraah is your thing.

Sky Bet have a few specials to try and liven proceedings throughout the weeks as my Gawd it's already boring me.

Not betting on it but I think Steve and Tim will be in the skate-off. The proceeding weeks have shown that DOI voters and I dare say the judges do not like the female celebrities what with three straight weeks of a woman being eliminated but surely a bloke's gonna be eliminated sooner or later!?

Of the females that are left I Zaraah and Linda are probably at risk but the judges score should just about keep Zaraah in. If I didn't know any better Aggie is probably polling the highest right now.
