Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Hmmm. Read in today's NOTW that Suzanne has chipped a bone in her ankle aggravating an old injury after trying to do a handstand on a chair (!?). She will perform tonight and reports over at ITV/Digital Spy out there suggest she is determined to skate!

No surprise there then that Sky Bet have got rid of their H2H market on 'who'll get the most points tonight?' with her against Chris Fountain. Greg's been clipped into 4/11 from 2/5 to be eliminated tonight. Zaraah out's to 15/8 from 7/4.

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Ok..Thought about it, and I certainly feel the value is on Zaraah to get the boot tonight @2/1 How can a best price of 2/5 be justified by someone who has such a fan base and never been in a skate off..? Heck - it wouldnt be the biggest shock if he went, but I think he could survive again... Got to go with the price..

Zaraah to be eliminated tonight - 4 pt stake @ 2/1 (bet365)

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

I though Zaraah danced pretty well all things considered but of course, it's up to the GBP and they should be putting Zaraah into the bottom two because they simply don't like her enough.

Greg into 2/7 and Zaraah out to 3/1 over at Stan James (Gareth 16/1, Suzanne 20/1 and Chris 50/1) in-running to be eliminated tonight.

Scores so far from the judges: Suzanne 24, Zaraah 24.5, Gareth 25.5 and Chris 30 (he was 7/1 to do so tonight!).

EDIT: Greg goes into 2/9. Gareth out to 33/1. WTF!? Are ITV that determined to get Greg out!? Yikes!

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Ach!! Some sneaky shenanigans over on the DOI Wikipedia page (can you tell I don't have the PC and TV in the same room!?) has led me to believe something was amiss.

Chris actually got 27. There's this odd feeling I have that they're gonna pull a Strictly Come Dancing and that the judges will give him a perfect score of 30 eventually though.

The in-running odds over at Stan James is now: Greg 1/4, Zaraah 10/3, Gareth 20/1, Suzanne 25/1 and Chris 100/1.

EDIT: Greg got 20 out of 30. Greg now 2/7, Zaraah 3/1. A battle of wills going on here.

Hmmm. Odds now: Greg 1/4, Zaraah 5/2, Suzanne 10/1, Gareth 25/1 and Chris 100/1. AIIEEE!! Insider betting action on Suzanne!? What the hell is going on here!?

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

I fear the worst.. It's set up for a Greg exit. He does an ok performance, and even Jason is complimentary as if to give him a positive send off, and also no antagonism, which in the past has driven the Greg fans to vote..

Perversely I would like to see a Zaraah v Suzanne skate off... As I can't see Suzanne going out even though her scores were lower tonight and it would see one of my bets come in...

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Hmmm. That's quite astute. Maybe they do know something. A quick snapshot of the odds over at Betfair.

Stan James aren't playing any more. Paddy's odds are pretty much similar to what Stan James' were: Greg 1/4, Zaraah 11/4, Gareth 16/1, Suzanne 20/1 and Chris 80/1.

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Hmmm. Something sneaky going on but any of my suggestions are mostly libelous and have appeared on this thread already but what was the action on Stan James about?

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Early prices from Stan James:

I can't see how Zaraah can escape from being in the bottom two yet again BUT will the judges pull off a shocker? Against Chris or Suzanne? Unlikely. Against Gareth? A very small chance that the judges might vote off Gareth but it shouldn't happen.

I'm surprised Stan James are dangling 4/9 as the likes of Sky Bet go 1/4 on Zaraah being the next one to be eliminated.

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Zaraah firms into 3/1 ON over at Stan James to be gone tomorrow. Sky Bet have a few specials up:

Hmmm. Chris I suppose is rightfully the favourite at the moment both to win the show and to get the first 6 of the series. I've no idea if Suzanne has fully recovered but of course, all it takes one whacko judge to give someone a 6.

Zaraah and Chris a 12/1 shot to be tomorrow night's bottom two? Hmmm. The final's next week and ITV could do with ramping proceedings by bringing all the Chris Fountain fans out in force (well it worked for Alesha Dixon over on Strictly Come Dancing! ).

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

So...Why would want to tip up a 2/5 shot? Not particulalry inspiring I know, and not particularly the best way to bet I must add. Betting heavy odds on may well be the path to poverty and is not the recommended route to go..

However on this occasion I make an exception... Value is in the eye of the beholder, but I do believe strongly that 2/5 is a decent price for Zaraah to be eliminated..Why?? Well have you got all day..

Zaraah has been in the skate off a few times... That tells me that she aint got any sort of following whatsoever. She gave the performance of her life last week - arguebly one of the best of the night and she still ended up in the bottom 2.. She s now punching several weights above her limit and it's for her to go.. Being a late starter has never helped, as it hasnt for countlss reality stars in the past, and this will be emphasised strongly on Sunday night..

ITV are probably already planning for the dream final which is Chris vs Suzanne vs Gareth and there is no way they want the viewing figures to be affected by a relative 'nobody' who has no support being in the final. I'm sure she'll get some decent scores on Sunday and some nice compliments from the judges, but it is a given that she'll be in the bottom 2, and barring the biggest fiasco ever (well...since the last one..) she should get the boot..

So is 2/5 value..? Certainly I think it is (and if I had my arse into gear earlier on I would have took the attractive 4/9).. I know many 2/5 or worse shots have fell in the past, but I cannot see this one failing..

Anyhoo as ar as I see it, it's a 40% ROI..And I'm on holidayfrom Sunday, so I can hide for a week if this goes tits-up..Not that it will of course..

Zaraah to be eliminated - 20 pt stake @ 2/5 (Corals)

Gareth Gates eliminated against Zaraah!? 5-0 as well!?

There is something (legal edit) wrong with this show.

Elsewhere, Chris gets three 6s from the judges.

I didn't cover the show as I didn't bother to watch it but one would imagine that after Gareth's deliberate low score that he must have plunged into odds-on to be eliminated betting in-running.

Suzanne could still very well win this but who knows? I'll put up the news and the odds but I'm still not betting on it.

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Yesterday's Bettingzone Market News:

1130: Sky Bet say they have taken more money on Hollyoaks star Chris Fountain to win this year's Dancing On Ice show than the whole amount gambled in last year's series.

He is as short as 1/5 to win this Sunday, making him a shoo-in for victory, and the strongest ever favourite in the history of the show.

Helen Jacob, entertainment manager for Sky Bet commented: "Shrewd Sky Bet customers who backed Chris before the show started at 4/1 are rubbing their hands with glee as he's now 5/1 on to be crowned king of the rink!"
