Well it’s Dolly Week is nearly upon us, which doesn’t exactly leave you licking your lips in anticipation…

Ok – Certs to stay in – David A (75/1), David C (50/1), and Brooke (33/1) – all have fan bases that should carry them through even if perform a shocker, and the odds reflect this

So who will also survive.. I guess from a gambling point of view it might be worth considering the singers that can perform a country/ballad-style song..

Well if Ramiele can survive with another poor performance last week then I’m sure the Asian vote will carry her through this week. Michael Johns is not as good as he or others thinks he is – However he should survive, and bizarrely I think his voice could actually be suited to this.. As I said earlier, it would be ironic if Kristy got eliminated during a country week. Can’t see it happening and therefore I predict another escape.

So I narrow it down to Syesha, Carly and Jason… Syesha is the favourite at 5/2. She is a good singer, but she aint connecting with the Public who have been spoilt with a miriad of past black female performers who have been better. However as Kosar says – you can see her belting out the Whitney special this week.. Although Whitney songs have been the song too much for many a past competitor, , I think the show still needs a black singer in a bit longer so I think she’ll survive with decent reviews.

So…I’m torn between Carly and Jason… Carly – a great singer that she is, just hasn’t got the appeal that the others have.. No warmth, no charisma and tattoos.. The fact that she is not American doesn’t help. A Dolly song as well… I am gobsmacked that she is still the evens favourite to be Top Female. Godammnit Pinnaclesports – when are you gonna post some match bets.!!? I’d be on Brooke against Carly like a rash !!!

Jason has reached his limit (and he has already been backed in from 8/1 to 6/1) and the poorest singer still in it…I can’t see how a Dolly song will do anything other than show him in a poorer light. Being in the bottom 3 last week shows that he teetering on the edge..

Still...a trappy affair indeed… but I think a speculative 2 pts is worth a dabble on Jason..

Well it looks like I'm one week out again as Ramiele is deemed the hot favourite to get the boot this week..

Well I've had 1.6 matched on a bet I placed on Ramiele to be eliminated (this morning), so I could escape with a teeny profit if she does go..

Whether 1.6 is a decent price based only on the views of AI forums and Dial Idol is another matter...

Well I am quite lucky that I managed to bail out thanks to a matched bet on Betfair.. This Season's escapologist Kristy is again in the bottom 3, but more worrying so was Brooke ..

Surely Kristy is due out next week ?!

Inspirational songs next week (I think I am looking for some inspiration to back a winner at Aintree).
Looks like Kristy may well be on her way, having played the Inspirational card two weeks ago, with the flag waving number. At the moment I can only see Syesha or Jason as the only others who may be in danger.

Well as far as Bet365 are concerned its a done deal and Kristy is toast next week..

I do suspect it will be her last, but I expected a better price than that ! 8/13 isnt any kind of value whatsoever.... However if we can get a preview of their song choices next week - that would help.. Surely Kristy won't inspire the Nation again !?

I haven't placed a single bet on the eliminations as without the song choices I'm completely lost.

Is Simon Cowell rooting for David Cook to win? His comments on the remaining eight are kind of interesting (Paula and Randy's not so much).

David Cook is generally between 2/1 and 5/2 ATB. David Archuleta prohibitively remains the favourite to win it all at just around 4/5.

I'm kind of nervous about Brooke White outlasting Carly Smithson and Syesha Mercado but I'd rather side with Brooke still than Carly or Syesha.

I wouldnt be too concerned with the threat of Syesha - I really can't see her coming close to Carly or Brooke..Mind, Carly seems to have picked up a head of steam at the moment and I guess she just edges the female market. That said, although Carly is the better singer, Brooke has so many other strengths that appeal to the American Audience - whereas Carly still isnt hitting the mark as far as I can see, and Simon's remarks about her not dressing right is another indicator of the negatives that exist...It'll definately go to the wire with those 2 with hopefully Brooke shading it..

David A has his fanbase, but unless he sings a certain type of song that pulls on heartstrings, he seems to fall a bit flat with the judges - well Simon.. David C is the more accomplsihed singer (with the added benefits of emergency hospital visits and a sick brother) so I reckon both Davids are certs for the Final..

The eliminations are looking like a (shock horror) no bet for me this week unless someone stumbles on a spoiler for the song choices, although that didnt particularly work for me with Kristy her 'God Bless America' style song ..

Hmmm. Well they were right. 'Idol Gives Back' is Wednesday night's show so the elimination will be held back until Thursday night.

RTM thinks Syesha and Carly are the likeliest in danger.

Marah Carey night, so some tricky choices to be made.. I think a girl is due out tonight on the law of averages, and I don't expect another shocker this week..

Kristy's price aint great as she seems to be getting better if anything.. Brooke should get through, so I reckon it's between Syesha and Carly.. Not sure whether I will commit to a bet though..

Oh no...Preliminary Dial Idol stats indicate Brooke is the favourite to go this week..

The only saving grace is that Syesha is quite close behind..

Oooh. That was close. Kristy eliminated as Brooke survived and Syesha was the other one in the bottom three.

It doesn't look good. The 'boring' tag given to Brooke seems to be sticking. Fooking Simon Cowell. I suppose Carly and Syesha's odds improve to be the 'last female standing' while Brooke's odds are pushed out a bit more.
