Well I've already accepted defeat on my 11/4 on Kate Nash to be Best British Female..
Although not as bullish about my evens bet on Timbaland to be Best International Male as I was when I placed the bet, I am still hopeful, and a win for him would give me a nice enough profit on the night even after Kate Nash flops...
The Sun are tipping these as the winners tonight...
* Best British Album - Mark Ronson's Version
* Best British Group - Take That
* Best British Female - Leona Lewis
* Best British Male - Mika
* Best British Breakthrough Act - Kate Nash
An absolute jawdropper if Mark Ronson wins 'Best British Album' but it's not like I care too much having not punted on anything apart from 'Best British Female'.
Huh. Sky Bet still have odds on Best British Single:
* Bleeding Love - Leona Lewis 8/13
* Shine- Take That 11/4
* Valerie - Mark Ronson & Amy Winehouse 3/1
* Grace Kelly - Mika 16/1
* Worried Abour Ray - Hoosiers 25/1

Well my banker Timaland fails, and as I curse the fact that I have thrown away a shitload of money, Kate Nash win best female at 11/4..
Looks like there's gonna be a few empty pockets tonight, judging by the results so far..

I hope that wasn't a dig at me, me ol' china!
As much as the bookies must have been making a mint they must have also been stung by some well-timed sneaky 'gambles' (not from me I hasten to add...I'm not working for the bookies by providing lousy tips to follow as much as it looks like I am! ).
All the winners were odds-against and some were at very good prices. I'm crying foul and claiming conspiracy from the award organisers. There's a few good arguments for and against being made as to why certain people won or lost but still c'mon, it has all the hallmarks of someone being in on it. It's been like this since Keane won 'Best British Album' over Franz Ferdinand back in 2005.
Aftereventing I suppose I should have followed the reasoning here for Mark Ronson (well done Kiko! Hope you filled your boots!) and Kate Nash (you didn't hedge that bet did you rick!? I hope not! I was right about Kanye West though weren't I!? ).
Arctic fooking Monkeys made a monkey outta me! They turned up!
Take That won 'Best Live Act' and for that matter 'Best British Single' because their fanbase got together and were well-organised...or just plain nuts in their repeated voting. A bit like the Dr Who fans at the National TV Awards (they didn't like Freema Agyeman enough to vote for her though did they!? Racists! ).
My general performance for this awards show is gotta be an all-time low of U for 'Unclassified'. I took one shot and missed but it could have been a lot worse as I might have even ended up losing hundreds whilst there were various other categories that were there for the taking. And I bloody well didn't.
This video pretty much sums up the waffling I've done on this thread.
Moi? Naaaaahh... However when you see Leona, Mika and Rhianna bomb out at ridiculously low odds you can see gambling carnage...

No - I didnt edge on Kate.. I did consider edging on Kanye West @ 6/4 after the Grammy results - which I did predict could well affect the Brit Awards bet on Timbaland... However I suddenly felt a surge of confidence again and left it alone..
Still a profitable night (and quite unexpected all things considered!)
