I'd Do Anything (Who's going to be the next Nancy?)

It's Saturday night and what have the BBC put on!? Another reality show/talent contest!

Not betting on it and I won't be watching it but hey, there might be someone out there who will.

The BBC's official website for 'I'd Do Anything'

Coral's odds on who'll be the winning Nancy:

* Sarah 4/1
* Amy 6/1
* Jodie 6/1
* Tara 7/1
* Jessie 8/1
* Ashley 9/1
* Francesca 9/1
* Rachel 10/1
* Cleopatra 14/1
* Keisha 14/1
* Niamh 14/1
* Samantha 14/1

I think Corals are missing the obvious one here. Like the past 2 series, a luvvie known by ALW and gang are among the contestants. Will be hard to beat. Hopefully a few others will copy the market and we could get better (4/1 shot with me - over double with uncle Joe)

Re: I'd Do Anything (Who's going to be the next Nancy?)

*touches nose, nods accordingly* The odds are going to drop but it's only an assumption based on her past experience and who she used to be roommates with. Can Andrew Lloyd Webber be that obvious!?

Nobody else is having a go at pricing this up at the moment and probably with good reason (ALW and company probably going to time their gamble until the last minute just like ITV did with Suzanne Shaw winning Dancing On Ice! ).

Uh-oh...folks over at Digital Spy have found out that Coral's have odds. I wonder whose odds will drop?

ALW was obvious enough with both Lee and Connie, so is not a big enough ask, that he will do the same. I do feel that Samantha is a real dark one (but perhaps too young).

LOL! The ringer Francesca had a 'mare as did Jessie. It'll be interesting to see how much ALW wants Francesca.

The results shows are on Sunday and like Strictly Come Dancing they're filmed on Saturday so some folks already know who's been eliminated.

Keisha is apparently the first one eliminated. Don't think there was any 'first Nancy to be eliminated' betting other than at Betfair and there was only around £2000+ worth of action.

Amy eliminated ahead of Francseca by ALW. If Francesca keeps being in the bottom two then ALW's gonna have to bite the bullet and get rid of her eventually. It's gonna have to be a helluva turnaround. I think the voting public may have taken umbrage at Francesca being ALW's chosen one. 20/1 over at Coral's is very tasty if the BBC can give Francesca a helluva PR turnaround. Not impossible but it's improbable at this very early stage.

Re: I'd Do Anything (Who's going to be the next Nancy?)

My understanding is that both Francesca and Rachel were put into the competition as a safety net, as they really want to find a new artist this year. If it happens that no-one really does not stand out (and to be honest apart from Tara most are fairly accomplished), then they will push for one of the professionals. Would not surprise me if it was fixed for Francesca to appear in the bottom 2 as a stunt. As you say the 20/1 is huge.
My general feeling is that Samantha is the 'one' they want.

Cleopatra gone, Keisha survives. Most of the bookies peg this as a battle between Irish raider Jessie and the other pro Rachel (Bet365, Coral's and William Hill's odds are pretty much similar so you won't be missing much).

Keisha favourite to be third gone? Well I suppose but there's seemingly little consistency of who should be gone and who will be gone. Some can act but can't sing. Some can sing but can't act.

Odds from Sky Bet and Paddy Power:

Re: I'd Do Anything (Who's going to be the next Nancy?)

I had a first watch tonight and the only one that stood out at all was Jessie, surprised she's not odds on for this. Best singer by a good margin and the look and sound of a Nancy - really didnt see any competition at all. These BBC one shows tend to be a little lighter on the 'shocks' that ITV specialises in and both Connie and Lee have hosed up in recent years - talent and suitability tends to come to the fore and she's a mile ahead in those categories IMO.

Jessie to win I'd do Anything @ 3.25 with Stan James

The Jessie bet looks good. How long before she goes odds-on?

Annoyingly the Racing Post got last week's elimination right as Tara went ahead of Keisha.

This week's odds from Paddy Power and Sky Bet:

Well, having not watched a single episode of this I've committed the cardinal sin (which I always said I wouldnt do) and that is place a bet on a reality talent show based on other opinions around the web, so I stuck 4 pts on Sarah to win @ 13/2 (Betfred)

Ermmm...Is she any good...?

Better watch it now...

Re: I'd Do Anything (Who's going to be the next Nancy?)

Personally feel she is the best singer in the competition. However she looks too nice to play Nancy. But I think she has the public support, which matters most.
Rumours are that Francesca (who was just eliminated) and Rachel (current fav), are being slated to star in Ben Elton's new production. Both were put into this competition as a saver in case they did not find the unknown star they were looking for.

This week's odds from Bet365:

I can't be bothered having to edit Paddy Power's or Sky Bet's into a nice presentable graphic.

Re: I'd Do Anything (Who's going to be the next Nancy?)

Caught bits of this tonight for the first time..Rachel seemed to be the best of what I saw with Jessie and Sarah just behind.. Didnt really see much of the rest to be fair..

I agree that my 'blind bet' Sarah does seem a bit too nice to play Nancy - a bee-atch from the slums, although to be fair I got the impression that she is popular with at least one of the judges. Interestingly Mr Webber stressed that it was a defining moment with the audience if they wanted a 'nice' Nancy or not - I reckon specifically referring to Sarah. I guess if thats what the audience want - then Sarah could well be in contention..
