Hmmm. The David Gest gamble rumbles on. Updated odds on various markets over at Paddy Power:

Not watched this before , but read a lot on TDP about shows like these...and excellent stuff it is too...especially stereoman and MrM....I'd say that Gest will go the distance ( only if he chooses to) based on the cash laid out by ITV and the fact that the public loves a 'freak'...give them a car crash to watch every time.

I can see Gest holding out for a week or so, then hitting the bricks , as he most likely has a 'get out ' clause regards the cash paid...ie after 3/ 4 shows you can leave without penalty.

He has a big music show that he is promoting in UK this Xmas so this is perefct exposure for him...and he gets paid for it!
People like him will stay if they feel their is enough of the right attention, and pack up if not.

Faith Brown is the one who could surprise if she decides to do a bit 'confessional' work on the prog, while Donovan looks nap if he keeps his mouth focussed on saying stuff that will endear him ...eg love for Kylie etc..

I'll have a couple of quid on these two , but look forward to more of you guys and the sound analysis.

Nothing much to update about. Betfair is down and betting on who'll do the Bushtucker Trials is a bit of a mugs game/insiders' job/intuitive thinking thing.

Today's Bettingzone Market Moves:

1200: Paddy Power say they have been bowled over by people wanting to back David Gest in this year’s 'I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here' and he's now just 7/2 to be king of the jungle having been a whopping 25/1 outsider before the show started.

Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: "Despite being plain weird he's drawing people in like moths to a light bulb - you know you shouldn’t go there but there’s something about him that's strangely fascinating.

"Gest is the one everyone's talking about, and he’s by far the biggest winner for punters at the moment. They can’t get enough of him."

Jason Donovan remains the favourite at 11/4 with Myleene's shower scenes keeping her in the hunt at 3/1. Phina Oruche is the favourite to be booted off first at just 6/4.

Can't disagree that Phina's the favourite to go as who'll vote for her to stay? You have to decide whether there's someone less popular than she is.

Scott Henshall is probably a viable alternative but he's a bit like Craig BB6 in that's he's irritating, gay and hateful but he probably has more fans than some of the others do.

Very surprised that David Gest is getting a bit of the Carol Thatcher treatment. One of them 'parallel universe' things for me (I can't see the appeal) but I have to concede that other people DO seem to like him at the moment.

Not much change in the first eviction/outright to win market although Lauren Booth has moved into being second favourite behind Phina to be first evicted and Myleene Klass is second/joint favourite with Jason Donovan to win it all depending on which bookie you look at.

Hmmm. Looking at Betfair's prices right now for the 5th bushtucker trial seems at odds with what Paddy's are thinking:



A fiver on both Scott and Phina. They might want to spread the wealth around or the public might pick on Scott again. Lauren could easily be a spoiler though.

It's about time Betfair got the production companies of reality TV shows to sign something to prevent 'insider betting' because this cannot continue to go on (well it still would...the facade that it's all up front and there are no sneaky bastards placing bets would continue but with a shiny piece of paper suggesting otherwise).

I may have been lucky and Paddy's will give me a refund considering Dean or Malandra wasn't an option to bet on.

EDIT: I didn't say I placed my bets with Paddy's but I should have. Why would I take 2.6 at the Fair when there's 10/3 on offer at Paddy's!?
