Re: I'm a Celebrity get me out of here

Prices already out. Today's Bettingzone Market Moves:

1100: William Hill are gearing up for the busiest reality TV week of the year and expect millions of pounds to be gambled on I'm A Celeb, the X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing.

Hills make Jason Donovan their 5/2 favourite to win the jungle crown with Matt Willis the 7/2 second favourite. Cherie Blair's sister Lauren Booth is offered at 6/1 while Liza Minnelli's ex, David Gest, is 6/1 to play the diva and walk out within 24 hours of arriving in the jungle

"Our turnover for the last I'm A Celeb was in excess of a million pounds and we expect to do ever better this time. The early money has been for Jason Donovan but keep an eye out for Lauren Booth as she looks like a dangerous outsider," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

William Hill I'm A Celeb: 5/2 Jason Donovan, 7/2 Matt Willis, 6/1 Lauren Booth, 6/1 Myleene Klass, 8/1 Faith Brown, 10/1 Toby Anstis, 12/1 Phina Oruche, 14/1 Scott Henshall, 16/1 Jan Leeming, 20/1 David Gest.

==========

Could be a Joe Pasquale-type public gamble on Jason Donovan. Only danger I'm thinking at this early stage is Matt Willis but Busted fans aren't really buying his singles so if the public get behind Jason Donovan it could be all over unless a Carol Thatcher-type lurks amongst the other nine.

Re: I'm a Celebrity get me out of here

Several interesting markets from Paddy Power:

Call my bluff on this last market though.

Last year's opening night on a Sunday attracted 9.5m. I can't see it being over 10m particularly on a Monday but ITV are being sneaky buggers by putting an extra episode of Coronation Street at 8:30pm before it to try and prove me wrong. The BBC counter at 8:30pm with Trauma, a documentary series following the work of the doctors and nurses in A&E at the Royal Liverpool Hospital.

http://media.guardian.co.uk/overnigh...647501,00.html

You're basically betting on whether ITV1 can steamroller BBC1 between 9pm and 10pm. I think Paddy's have got this market wrong. I don't think the deviation for those tuning into the first night of I'm A Celebrity outweighs those wanting to watch the final episode of Spooks (I don't think the FA Cup tie between Macclesfield Town and Walsall over on Sky Sports One is going to make much of a difference. ).

'Spooks' gets around just less than 6 million in the past nine weeks.

Channel 4 are putting up a new series as well and highbrow viewers and royal watchers will probably tune into Monarchy by David Starkey instead. BBC2 fight back with the second episode of Lock Them Up or Let Them Out. Five have given up the ghost offering a sacrificial lamb of something called Middle Child Syndrome.

I'm booking it but only a tiddler just in case I'm on a big heap of wrong....£20 on ''Under 10 million' at 10/11.

Reading the stuff about David Gest in the News of the World makes me wonder why he's going on the show. If the producers bow down to his demands it makes a mockery of what is already a shoddy show.

* He won't do the Bushtucker trials because he claims he has ill-health (the medics say he can).
* Has banned any of the other celebs from asking him questions about Liza Minelli.
* He has to have a personal assitant on set to help make his bed.
* Won't take off his sunglasses.

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/stor...showbiz5.shtml

I won't be surprised if there's a sustained gamble on him to be the first to quit (he says he won't though).

He almost certainly won't be first evicted (£100,000 of ITV's money says he won't).

Skybet also have a bunch of specials that may appeal. I'm thinking specifically the 3/1 (someone to quit voluntarily) and 7/1 (celeb having to quit due to injury) shots.

Re: I'm a Celebrity get me out of here

Mmmm, not really my sort of market usually although I did dip into in during the last big brother series - only to get my fingers burnt by Pete

Top write up there though Stereoman and plenty of food for thought.

Re: I'm a Celebrity get me out of here

What about the any celeb to get a number one single next year?

7/2? It's not that difficult these days is it and if early thoughts are right and JD wins then that price looks a real tempter. Lot of "ifs" there I know

Re: I'm a Celebrity get me out of here

Bit of a cheat if you ask me that Peter Andre a couple of years back managed to get a number one single on the back of IACGMOoH with a re-release of Mysterious Girl. I think he also won more than a few extra pretty pennies for some manipulative *COUGH* chart-riggers um, I mean people in the record industry when Insania charted inside the top ten (debuted at number three).

Could be Jason Donovan. Could be Matt Willis. Doubt it'll be Myleene Klass though. It'd be a fair wait to find out if you're right or wrong.

OT: I think some of the less than star turns are gonna be sacrificed before ITV get bored of David Gest and find out that their £100,000 wasn't put to good use (probably the worst decision since getting jackie Stallone in for Celebrity Big Brother 3).

Mind you, y'know me...I never think these shows are on the level.

Re: I'm a Celebrity get me out of here

Specials to rival Skybet's:

Hmmm. Tension between David Gest and Lauren Booth and Matt Willis and Jason Donovan.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2...520643,00.html

Opinions vary between who out of Matt and Jason should be heading the market. Obligatory outright, 'King of the Jungle' and 'Queen of the Jungle' markets from William Hill:

To win 'I'm A Celebrity':

Jason Donovan 5/2
Matt Willis 7/2
Myleene Klass 6/1
Lauren Booth 13/2
Faith Brown 13/2
Toby Anstis 8/1
Scott Henshall 14/1
Jan Leeming 16/1
Phina Oruche 20/1
David Gest 20/1

'King of the Jungle'?

Jason Donovan 6/5
Matt Willis 13/8
Toby Anstis 6/1
Scott Henshall 9/1
David Gest 12/1

'Queen of the Jungle'?

Myleene Klass 2/1
Faith Brown 9/4
Lauren Booth 5/2
Jan Leeming 13/2
Phina Oruche 8/1

Re: I'm a Celebrity get me out of here

Just having a quick read through this thread and the thing that stuck out was at Skybet for a celeb to quit without being injured, 3/1 looked a pretty fair price. Its gone, now 5/4 at Skybet

Re: I'm a Celebrity get me out of here

OOOH!! Jan Leeming was 9/1 to take part in the first Bushtucker trial!? I bet the producers got their freak on to that. Didn't watch the show but heard on the radio how she failed the task and how she cried about it.

I think Paddy's also had a 'who'll be the first to cry?' prop but I um, didn't bother to put that up.

Re: I'm a Celebrity get me out of here

I'm going to be following this with a few small bets along the way

I've a bank of 30.00 for the series and i've already had a couple of 2.00 bets,

Phina Oruche @ 70 to win outright

Phina Oruche @ 10 to be queen of the jungle

Re: I'm a Celebrity get me out of here

Noooo Kop youve bet on a black contestant, zero chance of winning more or less, though I guess the 70.00 odds reflect that. Black contestants can sometimes do well though so your Queen of the jungle shout has possible legs

Four for me too. I can only imagine that the rest must either have shagged real celebrities or are related to them a la the Gazza's stepdaughter scenario.

Haven't watched it and don't really intend to but I'm not going to slag it off as entertainment as I can see how people could find it decent viewing having watched previous episodes.

Are Ant and Dec doing it? They're always worth a laugh.
