Re: Soapstar Superstar

Decent night again then...Hayley dropped as low as 2.00 before the threat of the Furze began to loom large. She's still the heavy fav but Antony is the main loser of tonight...pushed back out to 4.50

Anyway Furze looks a worthy second fav...but Betfair could get carried away here. The point remains about well known ITV stars, altho the teen vote will get him far.

Its tough to call between these three and at even profits on them all I'll have a fresh look tomorrow and start again.

Re: Soapstar Superstar

I think the call for tonight is to lay Hayley at around evens - she's done all the shortening she will do until Friday/Sat IMO as we are only going to lose the outsiders, she has a few poor songs to sing, and Tupele/Alan will save either of her rivals tonight if given the chance. Lay just now and look to back again tomorrow or Friday.

Re: Soapstar Superstar

Hayley up to 2.14 ish so I think I'll sit out the rest of tonight before taking a final position on Hayley and Antony for the final run in.

Re: Soapstar Superstar

Plunging in on Ant right now after his Shirley Bassey performance...coming up to finals night he should be just about neck and neck with Hayley, with Furze just in behind. Gemma was better tonight but still no chance.

Re: Soapstar Superstar

There is a school of thought that reckons Hayley might be in the bottom 2 tonight...and its not out of the question. She'll see off Gemma in a vote off but it would certainly push her odds out if she is down there.

Re: Soapstar Superstar

Ooo Gemma v Tupele...lovely jubbly. It's all coming up roses so far, if only these were on every week...

Antony should go favourite tomorrow night I think and then we'll be all set to head into the final reckoning. Furze is a bit of a pain here and if Gemma goes tomorrow which is more than likely then she'll save him, leaving a tricky scrap for one of the main contenders with Tupele. Both should see her off but Hayley would be vulnerable so I'll be playing tomorrow nights show with that in mind.

Re: Soapstar Superstar

I'm thinking the top five will be:

1st. Antony Cotton
2nd. Hayley Tamaddon
3rd. Gemma Atkinson
4th. Mark Furze
5th. Tupele Dorgu

It's just that flipping marriage proposal stunt that could easily swing it for Hayley.

Re: Soapstar Superstar

Don't think Gemma will see off Tupele tonight - the Corrie factor will jst prove too strong IMO.

100% agree about the marriage thing...I'll take and even position on Ant and Hayley for the final night and leave it at that.

I reckon that the producers will be looking for a bit of mileage out of their Superstar tho...and in terms of perhaps releasing an album or something I don't think Antony offers them anything. Hayley is only marginally better but if there is something in the contract which ties them to releasing something, then I think the producers will be keener to have Hayley on board, and the marriage story offers them a chance to organise that happening.

I'll go with a finishing lot as the odds have it:

1. Hayley
2. Antony
3. Furze
4. Tupele
5. Gemma

Re: Soapstar Superstar

Gemma gone, and now that she has saved Furze we'll get a great insight into how the voting is going. Hayley has been better tonight and it should be Anthony in the bottom 2 with Tupele, but will the Corrie factor be enough? Getting ready to react quickly...

Re: Soapstar Superstar

I'm probably one of the few who are genuinely surprised that Gemma left ahead of Tupele but of course, the Corrie factor kicks in and then I go "D'OH!!".

If that's the case, Mark's gone tonight and ITV makes sure the winner's somebody from ITV.

The questions that remains are:

* Will being the last surviving male help Antony?
* Who does ITV want to win? Someone from Corrie?

OT: The bookies can claim all they want that turnover for Soapstar Superstar's bigger than Celebrity Big Brother 5 but turnover on the Betfair shows there's a wild amount of difference between the two.

Leon cries foul play. http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2...010727,00.html

Gemma can beat Leon but can't beat Tupele? As pointed out, it's the Corrie factor which most likely catered for Gemma's exit.

Re: Soapstar Superstar

Well you can tell my heart's not in this (my priorities lie elsewhere) as I blatantly forgot it was between Antony and Tupele as to who'll be next eliminated. Tueple goes and then Mark does.

Hayley's a general 1/2, Antony's 6/4.

The Sun reports that Hayley's singing to 'save her job'.

Re: Soapstar Superstar

Finals night - missed the start while watching the darts. All these stories about Hayley make her favourite...but 1.50? Mmmm not sure...corrie is a powerful beast. Will wait for a performance or two before having any further nibbles.

Re: Soapstar Superstar

Laid a big chunk of Hayley at 1.4. Will back her again later on tonight when she should be up a bit higher. I hope.
