The Oscars 2007...

Eh?? No Oscars betting thread.. ???

Ok..I'm not really up on the films enough to have a dabble, but I am having a bet on particular market - Best Animated Feature Film..

Happy Feet - 4 pt stake @ 3.3 (Betfair)

I know Cars is the big favourite, but it's about time another animated filmmaker took the award, and Happy Feet is a good film..Ok shit analysis, there you go.. Worth a shot I reckon..

Anyhow - anyone else got a bet on the Oscars??

Re: The Oscars 2007...

Stereoman is the lad for this - he has a couple of bets listed on his RTR thread:

Quote:
Some of you may be wondering what I'm betting on the Oscars. Well apart from a couple of ante-post bets I haven't stated just a couple of bets over at Centrebet.

£30 on The Little Matchgirl at 87/100 (1.87) to win Best Animated Short Film.
£20 on West Bank Story at 13/2 (7.50) to win Best Live Action Short Film.

There aren't many bargains but I would not like Babel to double up at the Oscars following it's Golden Globe win (I'm supporting LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE!!).
Unfortunately both those prices have been cut right in so thats no use at all(apart from for Stereo of course.)

Looks like a good bet there Trick - Happy Feet is class. Ach I dunno where to start. I'll take Happy Feet, Little Miss Sunshine for Best Picture @ 3.80 and Forrest Whittaker to cruise the best Actor @ 1.26 for interest.

Re: The Oscars 2007...

I didn't really bother with it this year as most of the winners were heavy odds-on and I'd only be insulting peoples' intelligence. I'd have come a cropper with some of the 'obvious' winners such as Cars and Eddie Murphy.

"WHY DIDN'T I JUST STICK THE £50 on West Bank Story!? WAH!?"

You have to start as early as August/September for these things to get at the early prices particularly at The Greek and wait 'til late February for a result!

The upsets were: Happy Feet (Best Animated Feature Film), The Lives of Others (Best Foreign Language Film), The Danish Poet (Best Animated Short Film), Alan Arkin (Best Supporting Actor) and Pan's Labyrinth (Best Cinematography).

You can still clean up which some people did but it's all about trusting the supposed turnaround in opinion.
