Re: Celebrity Fame Academy! (Series Three!)

Hmmm. Looks like two are going to be thrown out tonight. I can only see Bet365 either voiding the market or perhaps going with the first person named as not going into the Fame Academy. Not worth betting now anyhoo.

There are only 11 places available in the Academy, so Saturday night's opening episode will see the public vote to decide who wins a place.

Miranda hopeless so far...Angelica sounds like she's about to be.

Williamson head and shoulders ahead in vocal terms but taking it way too seriously...ain't gonna win like that. Murray sounded better than I thought he would - a bit more confidence which should come over the next few performances and we might be onto a winner.

Re: Celebrity Fame Academy! (Series Three!)

Betfair have an elimination market up which is good news, although maybe best to swerve tonight given the slightly ambiguous vote off procedure(i wasnt really listening when they went through it.)

Should be 2 of Miranda, TPT and Angelica depending on how it works.

Re: Celebrity Fame Academy! (Series Three!)

FUCKING HELL! Rowland Rivron was 14/1!? FUCKING HELL!

Prices at Betfair:

The prices tell their own story. Call me a cynic but although you could deduce who the bottom three were, I couldn't have imagined Miranda was more popular than Rowland. Not much liquidity in the market though so I'm a bitter old coot (not because I backed anyone but because I didn't see the 14/1 shot coming in).

Judges voted to save Angelica (2) over Miranda (1) and Rowland (0). Everyone except Colin voted for Miranda to go into the Academy.

The next elimination on Wednesday. You're on your own fellas from 8pm on a weekday onwards as I'll be back at work.

Christ! Rowland gone then? Probably just as well I wasn't around as I'd probably have done my dough on that one.

Re: Celebrity Fame Academy! (Series Three!)

Well it looks ominous at this stage. Shaun is the most listenable but the only thing that may derail him is that to me, he looks absolutely desperate to win it.

Prices from William Hill:

Some bookies have taken evasive action and really don't want people to put money on Shaun making him 5/4.

Re: Celebrity Fame Academy! (Series Three!)

I think we're in good shape on Murray Stereo - before the show I was worried about two things. a) that he would be tone deaf(he had admitted he was hopeless beforehand) and b) that he'd be so nervous that he'd just stand there stiff as a board.

As it was he sounded ok(about average for the competition) and did plenty jumping about, so I'm far happier with the bet now than I was pre show.

And let's not forget, unlike any of the others Murray has a 2 hour show every night on Radio 1 on which to plug the show and himself. Regardless of what comes along in the papers no other contestant is going to be able to command that sort of publicity. Add in a bit of an Irish vote and the guy should be 5/1 tops.

Ok chaps - I've jumped on the TDP Colin Murray moneytrain.. No personal reason - just following you guys..

Sadly not the 14/1 price you scooped on paddypower.. Have to resort on a much flimsier price on Betfair

Colin Murray to win Celeb. Fame Academy - £30 @ 9.2

Re: Celebrity Fame Academy! (Series Three!)

Nobody at the moment other than Paddy Power and Skybet are daring to put up a second elimination market (not even a market on Betfair!).

The worry here is the female bloc vote after the judges vote to save one of the three. If it's a female versus a male to be saved by the students, the male seems likely to go and even more so now there's a 7-5 split in favour of the females.

If Colin Murray is ever up for elimination, he is toast.

Likely three who'll be up for elimination? Angellica, Miranda and one other...probably Ray.

Who will the judges vote to save? Probably Angellica.
Who will the students vote to save? Probably Miranda.

In any case, I think the scenario from Saturday will be replayed tonight. Just substitute Ray for any other male (except Shaun but y'never know) and they're gone.

The only way a female goes if the three up for elimination are all female.

...after all that, NO BET!!

Hmmm. Stan James seem to agree with me about Ray Stubbs' chances for some reason and make him a fairly short 7/2. "HELLO STAN JAMES!!"

Re: Celebrity Fame Academy! (Series Three!)

The money is for TPT at the moment and she seems to be making an impression. Into 10s on Betfair which looks too short to jump on now - regardless of how well she's doing she'll always struggle for mass appeal IMO.

Murray has a couple of shows to get himself sorted I think - his votes will give him a freebie through quite a few rounds, but he has to perform well in 1 or 2 otherwise it could be time to take the (small) profits and run.

Re: Celebrity Fame Academy! (Series Three!)

Giedroyc in the bottom 3 tonight which has spooked the gamble on her. I can understand why people would bet on her but even though she is playing the 'oddball' card there's far more entertaining acts in there(by which I mean less cringeworthy, obviously.)

Not too concerned about Penrose - a decent singer of course but she looks like she wants to win it(same goes for Williamson as mentioned)) and when Red Nose Day comes around and those two are crooning away the votes are gonna go for the ones jumping around a bit, regardless of ability.

My summary just now would be potential winners are as the market suggests: Penrose, Williamson, Giedroyc, Murray. I ain't including TPT as she is disliked by a lot of people and even if she were to get down to a final 2 or 3 she'd have that mob piling into her opponents, which can't happen at the moment.

Stubbs and McCaulay will be shortish odds to go soon but I've a funny feeling they might just stick around for a little while longer.

Its difficult to tell how much support Salmon and Bell have...they are both shite(Bell is horrendous) but the teenyboppers are voting for their friendly neighbourhood presenters but in what numbers?

Purely on performances Vine would have a chance but it isn't so he doesn't. Just not well known enough and Mark Furze getting thrashed by ITV stars in Soapstar Superstar proves that you have to be a familiar name/face to win these shows.

As much as I don't wanna say it the value could still be with Murray here at about 11s.

Re: Celebrity Fame Academy! (Series Three!)

Hmmm. Yesterday's voting results after the judges choose to save Mel over Linda and Miranda.

Zoe saves LINDA
Tim saves MIRANDA
Angellica saves LINDA
Ray saves LINDA
Tricia saves LINDA
Fred saves LINDA
Tara saves MIRANDA
Shaun saves LINDA
Colin saves LINDA
Mel saves MIRANDA

Another elimination tonight.

Re: Celebrity Fame Academy! (Series Three!)

Skybet make Linda Robson favourite. Purely kneejerk reaction but not without merit.

Typically some viewers may want to save Linda and Mel this time. Wouldn't surprise me me if we got a surprising line-up tonight as to who'll be eliminated. I can't quite figure it out. Hindsight says I should have though!

Re: Celebrity Fame Academy! (Series Three!)

Angelica to go tonight for me.

Simple truth is that if she is in the bottom 3 she is gone - others are liked more and certainly sing better, and with Linda and Mel saved last night they will benefit from a bit of a sympathetic vote tonight.

Trying to get matched @ 2.70
