Re: X Factor

Yesterday's Bettingzone Market Moves:

1300: totesport believe that The McDonald Brothers have a bit of competition in the eviction market this week but it isn't from any of their X Factor rivals.

Instead the firm is putting them up against another person who is under continued pressure, Rangers manager Paul Le Guen.

Totesport are offering 9/2 that the Frenchman will be evicted from Ibrox before the McDonald Brothers are booted off the X Factor. The Scots brothers are hot 1/8 favourites.

Paul Petrie, totesport spokesman, commented: "Although we think it will be a major shock if they manage to outstay Le Guen, the McDonald Brothers have continued to defy the odds and you just never know.

"Both need to improve recent performances and I am not sure who has the harder job, the McDonald Brothers impressing Simon Cowell or Le Guen convincing the Ibrox faithful."

Meanwhile, the McDonald Brothers are 6/4 favourites to be evicted this weekend. Totesport also bet: 5/2 Nikitta, 11/4 Robert, 11/2 Ray, 20 Eton Road, 25 Leonna, 66 Ben.

Re: X Factor

As much as I'm probably gonna regret this, I have decided to take the plunge and go for The McDonald Brothers to be eliminated this week. Yes I know they are a good storyline (Cowell v McDonalds), but surely as by far the most shite act left in they cannot last much longer. I am also gambling on the fact that (another storyline I know) Cowel now has it in for Louie Walsh and he will do anything to get back at him..I would imagine that any 16-25 year old up against The Brothers would result in Sharon kicking out the McDonalds..

Madness I know, as these gits seem to be unstoppable, but at an half decent price I'm gonna have a dabble and hope tonight is the night....

McDonald brothers to eliminated tonight @ 7/4 (Ladbrokes) - 2/10 stake

Re: X Factor

Ok, i missed last weeks extravaganza, but tonight should be interesting with love songs. i feel that robert has no audience to vote for him, he will be in the bottom two this week. the two girls in nikitta and leona will surely stay for a bit longer. they just can't be left with one girl. eton road and ben are surely safe, which leaves ray. my sister made a good point to me, in that ray has the "cute" factor. but as it is love songs, not romantic-how many housewives will be ringing in for him? they don't love him, just feel sorry for him. i don't think that his voice is strong enough either, he will look out of place-too young for the song, and the swing will get picked up by sharon and louis. so if it is ray vs robert-louis will defo send ray packing. he hasn't liked him for a while, so 6/1 is long in my opinion.i if it is ray vs mac donalds, sharon to decide....i don't think it is as certain as trickrick thinks. still it will then even it up 2 vs 2 vs 2,so ray is the bet for me at 6/1. good luck all

Re: X Factor

not a follower of this , but I saw last week and Ray and Eton Road are simply crap....5/1 and 50/1 have got a couple of quid from me.
Eton Road probably won't get shot if Sharon decides , but you never know, while Ray would be a pick for her as she can give him the 'you've had a good run' line.

Re: X Factor

Nikitta vs Ray in the end with Simon changing his mind at the last moment to get rid of Nikitta.

How far will the News of the World want to turn the screws on Ray and Eton Road? Ray's possibly in danger. Eton Road seem fasttracked no matter what to a guaranteed slot in the final.

Re: X Factor

Hmmm. Have to say I'm a little surprised that Leona's taking over favouritism from Ben across the board.

To win X Factor:

Leona 1/1
Ben 15/8
Eton Road 3/1
Robert 25/1
Ray 25/1
The Mac Donald Brothers 33/1

Re: X Factor

I dunno stereo - when watching on Satuday(wtf was that bottom 2 all about ) it struck me that theres something very unmarketable about Ben - a touch of the Steve Brookstein about him and unless they stop giving him wishywashy ballads then I just can see him being a long term success.

In Leonna however they really have a top top singer who has the right look for todays pop market, and Simon is very enthusiastic about her career potential.

Eton Road don't know what type of band they are themselves and tho they should be in the final three, it looks a straight race between Ben and Leonna.

Undoubtedly theres a question mark over just how many people will pick up the phone and vote for Leonna, but beyond that she's the best singer by a distance and IMO will have the producers/Cowell willing her on.

Re: X Factor

Yeah, I suppose (makes sense, Leona does look more of a pop star and Ben has his druggie past) but it seems ominous how the X Factor audience has voted for the likes of Steve Brookstein and Shayne Ward to win it all.

I suppose Ben would be Tabby then (a false hope and who was also an early favourite).

Re: X Factor

Hmmm. The 'evens' on Leona to win has already been nibbled at!?

Yesterday's Bettingzone Market Moves:

1500: Ray is William Hill's 11/8 favourite for the X Factor boot on Saturday after another disappointing performance over the weekend which saw him in the bottom two.

The MacDonald Brothers have again defied the odds and survived another week but are priced as the 13/8 second favourites to go on Saturday.

Leona is now the 4/5 odds-on favourite to win having usurped Ben who is 9/4 second best.

"The MacDonald Brothers are a phenomenon and continue to defy the odds on a weekly basis," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams. "And they look likely to stay another week at the expense of Ray."

To be seventh eliminated (odds from William Hill):

Ray 11/8
The MacDonald Brothers 13/8
Robert 3/1
Eton Road 14/1
Ben 25/1
Leona 33/1

To win X Factor (odds from William Hill):

Leona 4/5
Ben 9/4
Eton Road 10/3
Robert 25/1
Ray 25/1
The MacDonald Brothers 33/1

Re: X Factor

Songs for Saturday:

Ben - With A Little Help From My Friends (The Beatles)
Eton Road - I Don't Feel Like Dancing (Scissor Sisters)
Leona - Bridge Over Troubled Water (Simon and Garfunkle)
McDonald Brothers - Love Is All Around (Wet Wet Wet)
Ray - Livin' La Vida Loca (Ricky Martin)
Robert - You Are Not Alone (Michael Jackson)

Hmmm. Not much movement although The MacDonald Brothers swap places with Ray as favourite to be eliminated.

If it is those two up to be eliminated on Saturday who will Sharon pick? I think surprisingly she could pick Ray as Ray is probably Ben's threat out of those two.

...it'd be odd that Simon would have had THREE of his acts eliminated in a row but I do think Sharon will vote tactically.

It all goes balls-up if it's say, The MacDonald Brothers versus say, Robert because Simon is a right conniving schemer who'll change his mind at the last minute.

Y'know how X Factor liesk to screw people over and I wouldn't be surprised if there was an agenda to make The MacDonald Brothers as much loathed/loved as Chico (hey, he finished fifth! Deluded housewives love him!).

Whatever happens one market will be decided on Saturday (the 'who will be a certain manager's remaining act?' one).

Re: X Factor

Looking at the songs lined up it would seem that ben has a suitable one , Leona as well....Robert will do a good job of his, and The MacD's will be delighted with that..probably done it a million times in shows.....that leaves ray and Eton Road

ray...too young to be singing this one...he'll look stupid, as he did last week. Performing gerbil.
Etyon Road...these guys are just shit. Can't sing and the boy that Sharon adores is really deluded about his ability....this track will show them up as he will be given centre stage and blow it with his faltering falsetto.

The public like them , though, so it is goodbye Ray , for me.

14/1 is tasty though and if they make the bottom two then I can see a 'unexpected' elimination...couple of quid for the fun of it.

Re: X Factor

Hmmm. With the pointing of fingers by the News of the World/The Sun, I wouldn't say 'never' that Eton Road could be the one who get stuffed this Saturday and wouldn't it be just coincidental that it's Ray and Eton Road who'd be the bottom two!?

With Sharon having the casting vote, who would she go for!? Probably Ray.

One has to assume that Eton Road have got enough voters who'll vote for them so they wouldn't be in the bottom two but hey...do votes matter!?

Re: X Factor

read an article about Leona yesterday and turns out she has already released an album, been on TV and has had years of training!!
Not exactly plucked from the streets , is she?

they complain about others for the so called 'professional' help they have had, but this girs been a pro for years....where's the consistency?

Re: X Factor

What a set up!....after eulogising on the talent of Robert and saying it was down to his advice, he sends him home!...

....he has always been lukewarm about Eton Road , happy to slag them off , and when given the opportunity to hit him where it hurts he keeps them...

could it be he wanted to corner the so called 'black' vote, for his Leona?....methinks so

Second week in a row I have been shafted by politcal voting rather than on merit. 14/1 !!!...you tosser, Cowell!...thought I had it nailed.

Re: X Factor

If it's any consolation you got a hell of a lot closer than I did (but then again most people will do!).

Can't believe The MacDonald Brothers are still in (is it the same vote that propelled Michelle McManus to victory in Pop Idol 2!? Highly doubt it.)

It's an interesting angle about the black vote there eddy...I'd have jumped on the PC bandwagon and suggest that The X Factor was inherently racist.
