Betting every game

Hi, after seeing some facts and figures I noticed Man Utd and Chelsea won about 92% of games. Just thinking if it would be worth betting £100 on every game in the season and surely would be in profit?

Re: Betting every game

that figure of 92% appears high to me , backing both Chelsea and Man U last season would have returned a small profit , but whether it will happen this season is a mystery.
If you had some kind of filter your returns could be higher i.e.
avoid fixtures against the top 4
select Man U at home ...they did not win at home today though
select Chelsea away

stats from football anorak
Overall Performance for Manchester United last season

Backing
Overall P38 W27 D6 L5 2.90(8%)
Home P19 W17 D1 L1 5.91(31%)
Away P19 W10 D5 L4 -3.01(-16%)

Overall Performance for Chelsea last season

Backing
Overall P38 W25 D10 L3 2.30(6%)
Home P19 W12 D7 L0 -0.60(-3%)
Away P19 W13 D3 L3 2.90(15%)

but stats show that you should have followed Man City last season especially early in the season

Overall Performance for Manchester City last season

Backing
Overall P38 W15 D10 L13 10.13(27%)
Home P19 W11 D4 L4 5.25(28%)
Away P19 W4 D6 L9 4.88(26%)

Re: Betting every game

Dont forget , that would be a 100 quid down today.
The odds on Man U are never that generous ,so the matches they draw or lose , well , its going to be hard to recoup your losses...

Re: Betting every game

Luckily I didn't bet today lol.

Say Man Utd win 25 this season I would have to win on average £50 from each game to recover the loses from betting on 38 games. So odds would need to be on average 1/2. The problem is as you stated its not very often Man Utd aren't odds on.

I would put your average odds far lower than that mate.

Especially at home for the best part of the season Man Utd will be between 1.15-1.30.

Away from home their odds will be slightly bigger though against the majority of sides.

the figures in blue i've posted are the betting returns for a 1 point stake with the profit made if they win

the page here shows results for all games for Manchester United
Profit/Loss figures represent performance if backing Manchester United to win

Re: Betting every game

Didnt bet when they played each other.

I only did it for the first half of the season at £5 profit per game, made a few hundrew quid.

I would do it again this season but those 4 teams are looking so strong this year that you struggle to get odds over 1.4 in the majority of the games

Im going to just put £100 on Chelsea every game as they do look a very good side this year.

I think Tottenham will do quite well this season though the bookies seem too agree.

Re: Betting every game

Problem i had last year was when Chelsea had a draw, then a loss, then a draw.

A progressive stake system with stakes of 1.4ish on the 4th game is NOT fun!

Depends what you men by doing well I suppose.

It certainly seems to be all doom and gloom at the moment and, although I think they'll win next week, would you be wanting to put any cash on them at 1/2 with their best striker/player on the bench and a defense as shite as they were last weekend?

Funny that the bookies seem to make Spurs too short most of the time. Maybe they have a disproportionate amount of rich fans gambling on them every week. I certainly doubt that you'd make a profit backing them to win at level stakes.

Re: Betting every game

In my opinion spurs need to get rid of Berba, he clearly doesnt want to play for them and he'd bring in anywhere between £25m-£30m, this could go a long way to securing 1-2 strikers that DO want to play for the club.

Modric needs to show his worth too
