The Oracle

Guys

I have put together this Excel workbook that tries to predict games by using current form, home/away form, and percentage from the Premiership to the Scottish 2nd, sorry too lazy to add the 3rd. In a nut shell it is using maths to predict winners.

I have used it for a couple of weeks and it is running at about 75% correct predictions

Please feel free to add any advice on the formula's I have used.

Thanks

Sean

Thanks for the input. The mods approved it yesterday so people should now be able to see it. I have uploaded the workbook to my website. Please feel free to have a look.

Re: The Oracle

Just had a quick look . Looks like a lot of work you've done there mate . I will have another look after the weekend .

Just one question to start with , I looked at your Championship sheet as I agreed with your selections of Cardiff and Sunderland.
Why is Southampton "too close" with a rating of -15 , whilst you recommend Yeovil with a rating of -11?
Does it have anything to do with price?
Cannot see any reference to price /value anywhere.

good luck with your selections

Re: The Oracle

There are 3 different criterias for selection to be chosen. It has to have atleast the curent form and one of the other 2 to select a team. So for Southampton the current form predicts a -15 so the away is fancied on current form, but on the % and points it is too close.

I hope it make sense.

Blackburn Won
Brechin Draw
Cardiff Won
Chelsea Draw
Hartlepool Draw
Huddersfield Won
Millwall Won
Peterhead Lost
Raith Lost
St Johnstone Won
Sunderland Won
Swindon Won
Wycombe Lost
Yeovil Won

8 Won
3 Drawn
3 Lost

Re: The Oracle

I had a look at this last night and it certainly looked good, just wondering how I would go about updating it with recent results? Is there a help file anywhere
