The Manfred Man Strategy

“5-4-3-2-1 da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da 5-4-3-2-1”

(Its all I could think of )

I’m going to try spreading a maximum of 15pts a time over a few different areas for this football/racing season, maybe to try and find out my direction for the following season.

Points and rules are

5pts - On any Nationwide Conference League game, Win, Lose, or Draw market only

4pts - On any other Football International, League or Cup game anywhere, Win, Lose or Draw market only

3pts - On any Scottish League or Cup match, Win, Lose or Draw market only.

2pts - Or 1pt ew on any horse or dog.

1pt - On any football bet from any market priced 5-2 or more.

That’s it really, my betting plan for the season.

I’ll be doing an Individual and Overall update on how its going, and post my first bets at the weekend.

Re: The Manfred Man Strategy

What was I smoking when I named this thread

No 5pt bet this weekend as the Conference doesn’t kick off till next weekend. It’ll probably be Hereford that I back next week.

My 4pt bet is isn’t a highly confident bet but I’ve got to have a go with it being the opening day of the season. I just think Darlington’s price at Rushden looks possible value judging by the way both teams finished last season and by reading a couple of pre season reports on both teams.
Peterborough and Leeds were also considered.

Morton, bloody Morton for my 3pt bet. If they don’t win today I’ll not back them again this season.

Just looking through the horses my first thoughts were with Fromsong in the 1.45 at Haydock for an each way bet but Maraakeb just gets the vote in the 2.45. Maraakeb’s stamina has been improved over the last two races running at one mile four, dropping back to the preferred one mile two and on ground to suit tomorrow he looks to have a win/place chance, also has a decent jockey on board and it’s Gosdens only runner at the meeting. Paddy P’s have priced it at 12’s. I’ll have 1pt e.w way on it, I’ve got to take Laddies early price or sp though.

My 1pt bet is going on Huddersfield to win at Forest.

Bet not placed yet but will be by midday, Ladbrokes coupon prices.

4pts Darlington 6/4

3pts Morton 8/11

2pts (1pt e.w) Maraakeb 2.45 Haydock

1pt Huddersfield 3/1

Re: The Manfred Man Strategy

Bets placed so far (all Bet365) for 13th August

5PT Bet - Dagenham v Southport @ Evs

Looks good value for the home win, I like other homes such as Hereford and Stevenage but they are both clear odds on fav’s to win, I rate Dagenham has having at least the same chance of winning as those two but the price is more of what you’d hope for on the opening day of the season .

Southport are still a part time outfit too.

4PT Bet - Middlesbrough v Liverpool @ 7/5

From the other leagues I found it hard to pick from, there’s been some excellent info on here this week, especially regarding wins for Newport County and Cambridge City but I finally opted for my team Liverpool.

I know we couldn’t win away in the Prem last season but we have been working on putting that right.
Pre season couldn’t of gone any better, 20 away goals in just six away games.
None of the opponents were of Middles’rgh class admittedly but you can only beat what’s in front of you. We will create more chances than borough this weekend judging by what I have watched from my team pre season . We are fit and we are ready.

‘Pool pre season.

11 August: CSKA Sofia 1-3 Reds
3 August: Reds 2-0 Kaunas
27 July: Kaunas 1-3 Reds
24 July: Olympiakos 3-4 Reds
20 July: TNS 0-3 Reds
17 July: Bayer 0-3 Reds
14 July: Reds 3-0 TNS
9 July: Wrexham 3-4 Reds

8 games 8 wins.

3PT Bet - Stirling v Morton @ 11/10

I know Gretna seem to be the most popular bet in this league this weekend but I’m sticking with Morton. I’m going to ignore their cup exit midweek and I hope it gives them a kick up the backside for this weekend.

2PT Bet - Will follow later.

1PT Bet - Will also follow later
