Swimming against the tide

It's my (much repeated) opinion that the best way to make money is to swim against the tide of popular opinion. I've lost count of the number of threads I've mentioned it in but I'm going to quantify it with a starting bet of 10 points on OVER 2.5 goals in the Wigan Liverpool game at 2.5 on betfair (before commision).

Starting bank 500 pts.

I know the clock says 1247 but they haven't kicked off yet, honest (just in case there's an early goal).

I'll post my logic in the next post.

Re: Swimming against the tide

Right - the reason the over 2 goals is a good price is because Wigan are playing with makeshift strikers and Liverpool just can't seem to score lately.

Quite frankly that's worth taking on for me. Any daft cunt can score a goal from a set piece (apart from Robbie Savage, obviously ) and I'm not a fan of predicting the number of goals on such data.

Here we go then - settling down for the game.

You know something Mr M, I thought I remembered something familiar about it. Wasn't it about the same time we made some money backing draws

There was no offence taken and MY selection won so it did not give much credibility to your system

Will pop over to see your draw system now

Its when you used to bring up quotes from posts on the brit forum and oppose them in your bets ODM. You remember that, like say everyone was saying 'Get on Newcastle' and everyone was loving that bet so youd lay them in your system.

Ah yes I remember, although I can't be expected to keep track of everyone I insult

Yes I remember saying at the start though that there was absolutely nothing personal in it and although Traeth's bet may have won, the system did make a profit overall so everyone's happy

10 points lost on the Liverpool game. Bet two is to lay half time- full time Chelsea-Chelsea in the game against Boro. I've been doing this bet with Chelsea for a few weeks now.

Lay is to make a profit of 10 points or to lose 13.6 points.

Boro 1-0 up after 2 minutes. Oh no - they're going to make them angry now

Half time and that bet is won which means the bank is back level on the day at 500 points.
