Re: CITY SACK PEARCE

He doesnt seem to stay at any club for a decent amount of time though, his name sounds cool and his record is good though.

Strachan's odds keep shortening though I would be so gutted if he came.

More boring football, and best we can hope for is mid table with him, and we need to at least have ambition for top 6.

Re: CITY SACK PEARCE

I also noticed Strachans Odds shortening, that would mean a buy out is no longer on the cards and we'll get another manager trying to do things on the cheap and mediocre football for another season.
And if that was the case i wouldent be surprised to see Barton and Lennon swapping clubs.

You can have ambition for however high you like Chris. You're never going to achieve top six in the next three years or so but there's no harm in having ambition. Go for it.

I have a soft spot for City I must admit and anything above the bottom three will do for me.

Re: CITY SACK PEARCE

Yeah thanks.

Houllier has left Lyon, Sven has declared his interest in the city job and co adriannse has rejcted feyenoord.

Sven although a noob with England has a pretty fantastic club record.

Re: CITY SACK PEARCE

Sven nearly destroyed his Italian club by putting them to the wall because of debt if i remember correctly?

Have to say i would hate to have both Sven and Houllier in charge. Their style of football etc would bore the shit out of City fans.

Co Adriennse would be an awesome coup, especially with the youth set up already in place there that he could work his magic with aswell. An added benefit is his style of play is attacking football which is something City havent seen for decades

Re: CITY SACK PEARCE

The Ranieri story just wont go away, from today's Guardian:

Quote:
Claudio Ranieri will discuss his future with Parma's president, Tommaso Ghirardi, on Friday before deciding next week whether to stay with the Serie A club.

The former Chelsea manager is wanted by the prospective new owner of Manchester City, Thaksin Shinawatra, and is thought to be leaning towards accepting that offer despite saying on Parma's website that he "would like to remain" with his current club.

Ranieri was in London yesterday and Ghirardi said: "He is tempted by the idea of going to England but we will try to keep him." Ranieri took over as Parma coach in February with the team facing relegation and has guided them to safety in Serie A.

Re: CITY SACK PEARCE

Ranieri resigns from Parma post

Ex-Chelsea boss Ranieri took over at Parma in February

Claudio Ranieri has resigned as manager of Italian Serie A side Parma.
The former Chelsea manager is expected to eventually take over at Manchester City, who sacked Stuart Pearce at the end of the season.
The 56-year-old Italian took over the struggling Parma side in February and guided them to safety, with a 12th-place finish.
His impressive stint has reportedly convinced the City board he is the man to take over from Pearce.
A statement from Parma said: "Claudio Ranieri has informed the club of his intention to leave his role as first-team coach.
"The club would like to thank him for the precious work he carried out, which resulted in keeping Parma in Serie A. We wish him success for the future."
Ranieri told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport: "The Manchester City challenge reminds me of the experience I had at Chelsea where without spending £1, we built a good team. "I created the Chelsea miracle from nothing. My achievement convinced Roman Abramovich to buy the club. Then, mountains of money came as well as a selection of top players." However, it could be the end of next week at the earliest before he is formally installed at Eastlands.

You have nothing to worry about. Do you really think Strachan would pack in Celtic to go to City?

I somehow think there is no chance in hell of that happening.

I would be beginning to panic if i was a City fan as their chouices are running out. I am beginning to get the feeling that someone like Jewell, Newell or Souness will be in charge come the start of the season.

Re: CITY SACK PEARCE

Choices are running out?

Actually just Ranieri who did decide to go to one of the biggest clubs in the world instead.

Sven said he was interested, Gullit too but dont want him.

The sky sports spanish guy Gullerm Ballarge or whatever hes called said Juande ramos of seville wants to come city and he is like the god of spanish football, plus his odds keep shortening. Houllier has left lyon and is favourite.

However yeah well probably end up with souness.

Re: CITY SACK PEARCE

The Seville manager going is even more laughable. No chance EVER of that happening - that guy would only come to England for the Man Utd or Chelsea job imo.

He has done an amazing job there and they are still on course for the treble so i cant see him being in the slightest bit interested when he has CL etc to look forward too.

I dont agree with your statement about you leaving Scotland for any EPL club.

Only a handful of clubs would be worth leaving for.

Ok the SPL is a two horse race but your getting 60,000 a week...guarenteed CL football basically and the chance of winning trophies.

EPL is the better league by a mile but i wouldnt trade in the Celtic job for anything in England bar the top 4 clubs. Outwith the top 4 there isn't really much of interest.
