Xavier to move to LA Galaxy

It appears that Abel Xavier has agreed a summer transfer to LA Galaxy on an 18 month contract. Boro man Xavier hasnt impressed since his return to the Teeside club following a drugs ban.

Galaxy General Manager and President, Alexi Lalas said of the move

"This re affirms out commitment to signing the best beards around. I see Abel as the ideal role model for our academy players who are just finding their way with the razor. Hopefully with his tuition and guidance, they might one day sport facial hair like mine."



Xavier is the second big-name signing from Europe, following in the footsteps of David Beckham who is also due to join in the summer. When pressed on the issue at a press conference in Madrid yesterday, Beckham's response was "Abel who...?"

Bit of a pointless signing imo as LA have some very good central defenders, who also have youth on their side, so i dont see it as a worthwhile one.
