Peter Ridsdale basically. O'Leary was manager and asked for cash, Ridsdale thought they were goint to win the CL so gave him it. They then got knocked out in the semis and had a massive debt. They then had to start selling players to try to clear this debt. Then they get relegated and the costs were still high as they were still paying wages for players that they had already sold (now they just dont pay the ones they own).

Absolutely Andee.

Clubs these days (Chelsea being the exception) are mortgaged to the hilt. Leeds dont even own Elland Road do they? Im sure that it, along with Thorp Arch, was bought by a company and leased back to them.

Anyway, it wouldnt take much for most Premier League clubs to go pop.

Nope.

They darent ask for a CVA as Astor Holdings (Leeds main creditors) who are offshore seem to be somewhat linked to Bates and this looks highly illegal and suspect to me.

Bates paid 53p in the £ for Leeds, but the other bidders were prepared to pay more - hence dodgy dealings between Astor and Bates (the same person?)

I think that Roman's money is his own. He is trying to launder as much of it as possible so that when Putin finally tells him to fuck off out of Russia and freezes his assets, he has Billions overseas.

Putin doesn't have a problem with Abramovich because Abramovich doesn't criticies Putin. Therefore he's safe.

Thats what he's thinking Andee. Putin isnt afraid to stand up to you no matter how much money you have or how famous you are.

Why do you think Roman has been giving money back to Russia recently? Abramovich pays for Comrad Hiddink to manage the Russian national team no less.

His company Sibneft also sponsor CSKA Moscow to the tune of £10m per season. Thats a lot of lolly....

He has also given around $1bn to Chukotka in Russia. Its a region in the north east of Russia and Roman is State Governer there.

Have a read about Chukotka if you want, here's the region's website

http://www.chukotka.org/

No doubt paid for by Roman's kind donations.

So why is it 15 points deduction?

I thought it was 12 points for going into Administration.

Is the extra 3 points some sort of interest payment carried over from last season

Re: Isnt it great to see Leeds in the Shit

As hibs nibs over at PL is an ardent Leeds fan it would be easy to take the piss and laff at Leeds's downfall but i won't on the basis of I've been there b4 with City and they hate the rags just as much as me.

Leeds are to bigger team to ever fold completely no matter how many times they go into liquidation, and if any of these investors that seem to be snapping up teams in the prem at the moment had any sense they would snap up Leeds for a song, invest and become a hero overnight as they possess a huge fan base and have history to boot, I know the last time a major investment in Leeds went tits up but nowadays investment has to be sustainable and any one of the new generation of 'play thing' investors with billions to spare could grab themselves a bargain.

Leeds are probably one of the top 10 clubs in England and should be dwelling in the Premiership, whats happening at the moment is criminal not laffable and i think the top flight is all the more worse with their absense as the likes of Wigan v United or Chelsea just does not have the same bite about it.

I have no doubt Leeds will come back again like City did but its one hell of a fight once you get sucked into the lower leagues.
