...comments to a few points raised above.......

'if the right person takes over'

No-one but Bates will be in charge as long as Astor Holdings are Leeds main creditors. (Bates IS Astor imo)

'1992 - the godlike Eric Cantona - Leeds to Utd - £1.2 million'

Considering he had shagged Chapmans missus (Leslie Ash), it was a case of get rid ASAP.

'Bunch of neanderthals - I don't know any group of supporters who deserve this more'

That just proves that you are purely going on whats written and not on knowledge. Hooliganism with Leeds has dropped recently. Why? because they dont get the publicity that they used to and so at the moment its pointless. These hooligans have gone back to their own clubs and i doubt they will surface again until Leeds get a big game again (home to Farsley Celtic in 2 years time will probably be it ) They arent Leeds fans, they never were Leeds fans.

Yeh I know the 'Chapman' story and gotta admit, given that one of them had to gone, keeping Chapman and selling Cantona was the shrewdest move. I'm sure Chapman would have resurrected Utd in the way the way the Eric did.

As a season ticket holder at OT since the 80s until recent times, trust me I know what the Leeds fans are like! Hooliganism has nothing to do with publicity and if the fact that these fans have drifted away in the bad times is true, well that just shows them for what they are.

As much as I'd like to see it, think a game against Farsley is pushing it! Like your thinking though CG!

Still a Utd supporter but haven't been to a game since Glazer took over.

I follow FC United's progress from afar but there's only one love mate.

They will without a doubt mate.

They pull in crowds of 2000 to 4000 for each home game and the away support is pretty big too. There's an FCUM update program on one of the satelite channels each week and I've seen loads of interviews with the opposition team's manager/director saying that the support/income they've brought into the divisions they've been in is allowing the rest of the league to not only survive but improve.

Good luck with Brid this season.

Anyway, back to Leeds.

'Again. We'll never play you again, we'll never play you again, we'll never play you again.........'
