Oh dont get me wrong ODM, I like Voronin and would play him ahead of Kuyt every week.

What I see on the pitch though confuses me. Does Rafa tell his "spare" front man to go deep, go wide and stuff or is that their decision to do so? It confuses me as week after week it seems to operate with little success. Kuyt's goal scoring record in the league this season is testament to that.

Anyway - Voronin overall gets the thumbs up. I would like to see him playing with Torres, getting good service from wide men and I think he would be banging the goals in as well as creating too.

I'm not really concerned with the result. In the grand scheme of things the FA Cup is probably 3rd in the list of priorities anyway this year.

And we werent the only team to play badly either this weekend....

Looks like our beloved Liverpool FC could change hands again shortly. The Royal Bank of Scotland are believed to be asking Hicks and Gilette (as a security on the stadium loan) for a desposit of £20m each from their personal wealth.

One of the two is refusing to cough up and so it looks like the club may well be sold, probably to the DIC (Dubai International Capital) who tried to buy us years ago.

It now appears clear that the two American gentlemen, despite being very rich, never intended on investing/risking their own cash and had their hearts set on "doing a Malcolm" and getting the club into debt to fund the purchase.

You know, maybe our Chief Exec should look at the next take over in more detail before blindly accepting whatever he's told.

Just heard a stat i had to double check.

Sunderland have won more home games this season in the league than Liverpool.

I know the league positions are a fair bit apart but it was a pretty surprising one none the less.

Indeed Kiko and its a complete change from how it has been in previous seasons. I think our home record w/d/l/ is 4/5/1. Any championship contending team needs to be looking for 7 or 8 wins out of the 9 games we've played so far.

As I mentioned, in years gone by it had always been the away record that had let us down but this year it's the opposite. Our away record is ok actually, it was even better til we lost at Reading and drew with City & Boro....
