Re: The Official Liverpool thread 2007/08
Aye , looking bad for the pool although Villa are a quality side and simply huge!
regarding Torres , you cant expect him to perform week in week out , only a handfull of players ever manage to do it and they all play for Manure and Arse
Tranaldo, Rooney ,Fabregas obviously Hamaan.
I've seen enough of Torres , he'll do ok, Kuyt is shyte mind , Mascherano is good but he wont be signed as he's too expensive.
The likes of Riise and Kewell need shifting as they are just there for the money and will spread the badness
None of my business of course just my opinion , when all is said and done , and I do retain some affection for Pool as they were untouchable when I was a kid , they aint come close to winning the league for ages and never under Rafa

Re: The Official Liverpool thread 2007/08
It's not that I'm expecting Torres to be brilliant every game Keem. In fact his positional play has been up to his usual high standard. It's just that some of his touches have been fuckin dreadful, knocking the ball ahead of him and into the path of the defenders.
The odd one, I can forgive, but he did three on the trot and it's just not what you expect from someone of his class. It's the fact that it is him that makes it so shocking. If it had been that useless cunt Kewel then I wouldn't have batted an eyelid.

Re: The Official Liverpool thread 2007/08
I dont know Muze. I was asking my dad the same question 2 minutes ago. Maybe Rafa like's his hard work ethic, but I cant see what Kuyt offers you, bar running.
When he comes short, he doesnt have the skill of a Bergkamp to turn and pick a pass. When he goes wide, he cant cut inside like an Henry and beat a man or indeed, whip a ball in. And even if he could cross, there would be no one to cross to because he's out on the wing.

Re: The Official Liverpool thread 2007/08
Aye true enough , you need your target man to be able to lay it off quickly , hold it up and get fouls , Crouch doesn't seem to excell at any of them, he has an eye for goal though. I think Torres will do ok though and maybe the addition of a Sherringham/Beardsley type is what you need. I dont know why you aint been in for Berbatov , well I do because your owners are cheap but he'd deffo go to Pool

Re: The Official Liverpool thread 2007/08
For what its worth, & considering we were about 4 minutes from 3 points....how the fcuk we got anything tonight is beyond me
Mo'N has made us hard to beat & has instilled a lot of spirit & fight, but the result was because Liverpool failed to finish us off & not down to us. If you're getting hammered in a game but hang in there, your time in the game will come & never was that better proven than tonight.

I think that for the money (Around £15m) Mascherano is a good buy, when you consider Carrick was £18m. But in the present climate, our owners simply dont have the money it takes to run the football club. They are after making money, not investing it in the team.
Kewell had a decent run of form after his return from injury, early December time. Since then he hasnt impressed for me. He doesnt have the raw pace to beat a man anymore and he looks to pass inside every time. His contract is up for renewal in the summer and I cant see a good reason for offering him a new one. That said, you'd think he'd be playing out of his skin to earn a new deal somewhere else on a Bosman. He's not exactly hot property because no other club has made an approach for him - even though they can do so for nowt.
Riise hasnt played constistantly well for 3 seasons. He's playing badly, he knows it, the fans know it and so the pressure intensifies. He needs a move away to a smaller club, where the pressure to perform isnt as great and where turning in average performances is acceptable.
That said, we need to pay good money to replace him. Replacing him with a free transfer like Aurelio isnt what a title challenging club should be looking to do. You need quality in every position and that takes money.

Re: The Official Liverpool thread 2007/08
what about benayoun, he is another thats not liverpool class, there is about 3 or 4 players there who get a game at the expense of beter players sitting on the bench, until the so called king rafa starts to play his best 11 reguarly then liverpool are going in the wrong direction and thats no the board to blame for that.
